CLG.Prime benches Voyboy - Locodoco Joins the team as new Support

http://dota2.gameguyz.com/sites/default/files/news/clg_logo_med.png

CLG.Prime has announced that they will be shuffling their lineup yet again. These huge additions will see HotshotGG return to the top lane in place of Voyboy, Chauster move to the jungle and former Azubu Frost AD Carry Locodoco support Doublelift in the bottom lane. These huge lineup swaps happen after disappointing finishes in recent tournaments, particularly the Season 2 Finals where CLG failed to make it out of the group stage.

Let us know what you think of CLG's new team, and how it will do going forward in the comment section RoG'ers!

More information will be available as it comes in keep checking back and you can head over to Voyboy's AMA to ask him questions right now about the change http://www.reddit.com/r/leagueoflegends/comments/11xd99/hey_im_voyboy_and_i_just_got_benched_ama

Here are some of Voyboy's repsonses in his AMA and reaction from around the scene:

On if he was going to stay with the team via Twitter

Voyboy: I am no longer on CLG. I wish them the best of luck in Season 3 and beyond. Looking for a team in the meantime.

Voyboy's thoughts on the changes

Voyboy: I do agree that Hotshot has been underperforming in the jungle to a certain extent. However, at the same time, fingers can easily be pointed to everyone on the team, citing games that they "threw" and declaring that they are a problem.

Honestly, I don't think a roster change was necessary. But having Hotshot bench himself while moving Chauster to the jungle and Loco support would have been a far better move in the grand scheme of things. It's his team though so its understandable that he would like to keep playing for sure.

On his recent performance and the suddenness of the decision

Voyboy: No I wasn't given any other options. It was very blunt and sudden and I was pretty much told that the decision was final and that nothing could be done.

Compared to other top laners? No I do not think that I have been underperforming. Have I been carrying as hard as I would like? No of course not. I know that I can play better, just as everyone should know that they can do better, however I have been out performing every top laner in NA very hard (at the very least) for a long while now.

Saintvicious provides his brutal response to the situation

Saintvicious: this seems familiar Hotshot sucking top decides to try support benches elementz.... realizes he sucks at it then goes back to top. Hotshot sucks at top benches me from jungle to try it out.... realizes he sucks at jungle goes back to top and benches Voyboy. I wonder where the problem is.

Locodco on joining the team

Locodco: After declining several offers from Korean teams I’m glad to finally settle down with CLG. I see an immense potential within the team and hope to bring my Korean mindset and work ethic back to North America so that we may perform up to the CLG name in Season 3 and beyond.

Haha Saintvicious still so mad that he was kicked. The only thing he is good at is blaming his team when he makes mistakes. One of the most overrated junglers out there at the moment. If he can´t get Maokai or Shyvana then he can´t do anything.

Hotshot didn´t perform well as a jungler but it wasn´t as bad as some want to believe. Voyboy was by far their worst player. I have never seen him win top lane for them. For Dignitas he was great but at CLG he was terrible nearly every game. Even when Hotshot camped top he couldn´t win his lane. While at CLG Voyboy was the worst top-laner from all top teams. That said Westrice isn´t that good either at top lane.

So i think it´s a very good change for CLG. They´ll be a lot better without Voyboy and Chauster in jungle. But i don´t think they´ll be able to compete with the best (M5, koreans).

Saint Vicious pretty much has the situation summed up.

I think CLG was right to try a roster change though considering how things went last tournament. I am really confused why Locodoco left Azubu Frost though. I mean Azubu Frost almost won the whole thing going to CLG seems like a step back for him. Maybe Azubu didn't appreciate him or worked him to hard?

CLG bombed at the world championships because they were content to solo queue and run their mouths instead of practicing. HotshotGG called TPA the worst team in the tournament on his stream, and Doublelift talked about how CLG didn't have to practice. Even Chauster talked about how "Clg would have won if they were on blue side".

Gee, I'm sure a roster change will definitely fix their problems. This is just CLG looking for a shortcut instead of actually having to practice.

How delusional can you get... Out-performing every NA top laner? LOL. Not only is that not true but it also means nothing since NA is the weakest scene (at the moment). Never have i seen CLG win top lane on its own since Voy came into the picture. If that was "Voyboy's thing" why hasn't he been doing it? Seen games that even when the jungler gets him kills he still somehow loses lane. Both voyboy and hotshot were doing terribly so it doesn't surprises me that the non-team owner got benched. It was inevitable and if he doesn't understand that he was under-performing just as much as hotshot then he needs to take a step back before joining another team...

Hotshot is a horrible player - I think any mid-high Elo could perfom the way he does.

F*** it i used to be a huge CLG( prime and eu) fan but i liked Voyboy the best of CLG.prime...

And why dont they put Voyboy in jungle... He plays a lot of Hecarim and Diana and both are viable( maybe even better) in jungle .

Anyways I hope that Voyboy joins I Like CoockIes, with Shushei and Yell0wstar(even through it is a EU team...)

hecarim and diana are viable heroes, but respectively never seen in the jungle at tournament level. hecarim is rarely picked, and when he is, hes utility bruiser toplane. diana goes ap middle or top.

    HotShot's logic is infallible:

Let's take our top, a really good player, and bench him. Then we can take our AMAZING jungler, me, and put me top, where I can safely throw. Then we can take one of the best supports NA, and waste him on jungle. That's a good idea. Finally, we outsource Locodoco, who, admittedly, is really good, and expect him and Doublelift to synergize immediately.

I swear, Chauster's an amazing support, Voyboy is a really good top laner, bigfatlp rocks the midlane, and Doublelift can pull off exceptional plays. We know what the problem is. Solve it.

except for how voyboy has been lackluster and one of the weak links along with hotshots jungling which is mediocre which hes never bragged about nor glorified.

chauster is commonly regarded as one of the most knowledgeable players in general and will adapt to the jungle surely, putting hotshot toplane which is his best role and play one of the best chos which is currently a lane very little teams know to manage.

i like the part where you said that CLG expects immediate synergy because nobody implied that but you.

no fans and/or average community members have any idea of the fundamentals in problem and get carried away by drama when theyre clueless. admittedly, im just as clueless, but i dont pretend i know any better.

The same Chauster that cheated in the Girls4LoL tournament and claimed that clg.na would have won if they were on blue side?

    Saint said it all:

ThrowShotGG sucked in the jungle yet again but someone else needs to be blamed.

Looking forward to see how Locodoco performs as support: he was really impressive as AD carry back in the days he laned with MadLife, so I'm curious to see him play the support role.

I laughed so hard when I read Saint's comment.

  • #33 Pcbino

But VoyBoy was better top than HotShot.

And I think Saint hit the nail pretty good.

  • #32 Hyura

Hotshot was terrible jungler, maybe he will be able to play competitively again at top lane. But the bot lane changes will be hard. But as someone already said, Chauster wasn't the best support.

  • #30 FatsXL

This reeks of desperation. They keep going for the quick fix instead of actually understanding where the problems are and how to solve them. I'm skeptical, but we'll see how it turns out.
