Rhux replaces Elementz as Starting Support for Team Curse

Today during the Liquid in the Morning show it was announced by Team Manager Liquid changes to the roster at IPL.  Rhux a 2700 ELO player on the NA Server will be playing support and Elementz will become a non-starter on Team Curse.  Rhux won the 1v1 tournament Curse hosted out of 5000 players and was the first player in Season 2 to hit 2800 on the ladder.  He performed extremely well playing support during the tryout he earned from the 1v1 tournament win, and the team would like to see more of him as support.

Liquid goes in depth on the changes in the following video (Elementz info starts at 8:00):

The change will be in effect for IPL 5 at the end of the month. Groups for IPL 5 are already being formed you can check them out on Leaguepedia (Curse is in M5's group). How do you guys think Team Curse will fare there and going forward with Rhux as the support?

TBH I don't think getting benched is a big deal.  If your goal is to be the best in the world, getting starter on any team should be a tiny speedbump down that road.

I like Curse but they don't stand a chance in fucking hell against M5, the best they can hope for is a second place in the group and a loser bracket strong showing.

Now bench Saint and put Elementz in the jungle!

Curse is definitely my favorite team right now and it was initially because (sorry to say) they are unpredictable and inconsistent. I usually don't like to cheer for the "sure win" because it's no surprise when they win and some big let down when they lose.

Now, the underdog status attracted me, but the openness (drama too!), the individual and team playstyles, and the sheer level of skill of the team members has won me over.

Finally mentioning the matter at hand, I watched at least 3/4 of the Crs games in the Solo Mid 4 tourney and was incredibly impressed by Rhux. Initially I was shocked to see someone other than Elementz playing, but I couldn't help wonder by the end if they still would have won with Elementz playing (obviously we'll never know).

Westrice and Elementz are really good and I'll miss them on the team, but I'm extremely hopeful and fairly confident Curse will do good at IPL 5 with Voyboy and Rhux.

I still hold a few personal reservations on the top lane switches happening, but, as always, time will tell.

    Good Luck Curse!

I think its a Great move Curse wrecked everyone at the Tsm Invite its good for them to let Rhux show what he can do at IPL 5 and, i think also the other teams took note of who he was if hes not on Curse hell get picked up by another team and i dont think Curse wants to do that lol

    Mr. First Blood

I don't even know what to say, lol. I really like Elementz playstyle =|

But well, Rhux was great at the TSM Series @@

Elementz is probably my favorite player in the game to the point that every time Elementz has a video out i'm right there watching it.

I'm glad him and westrice aren't off the team, and that they will still be writing tier lists and streaming (I am assuming).

Rhux sounds great though 2800 elo damn. Tsm better watch their ass.

Tough decisions must be made to defeat the Asians it seems.

Westrice was top elo NA when he joined Curse. How did that turn out? ELO doesn't mean anything in a team environment.

If he can't synergize with the team they just put Elementz back in.

After watching a ton of matches that Curse have played in the last few months (I guess I've probably watched them twenty or so times, including all their matches live at MLG Dallas), I really think that Saint is the worst player on the team. He makes a lot of really bad decisions on engagement, especially when Curse is behind he takes a ton of bold risks that are rarely worth the reward and rarely pay off.

Nyjacky has become a really amazing player. Cop has improved a lot. Elementz was very reliable and he was good with both conventional and unconventional support picks. Their top lane is a revolving door. I think Saint throws a ton of matches getting too aggressive.  Of course he won't bench himself because he's team captain.

Glad to see that Elementz is still on the team.

Honestly though with the addition of SaintViscious and VoyBoy, Team Curse has a brand new face, and with that, a brand new play style. For all we know Elementz benched himself for the betterment of the team (doubtful) or they could just be trying to take their team in a new direction. I watched a bit of Saints stream last night with Rhux and the kid is definitely leaps and bounds above Elementz level of play. Elementz is definitely a top tier player but I'm not so sure this was a bad move on Curses part. I actually like where this is going for them. Can't wait to see how they do this season. Now if only we can get HotshotGG to bench himself (again, doubtful).
