Unfortunately, some things in life are beyond anyone's control and age is one of them. Teams have begun to prepare for Season 3 in the hardest way possible, by releasing their players who don't meet the required age of 17 years needed in order to compete in Season 3.
Fnatic has enjoyed a terrific revival and has been competing at the top scene with young Rekkles, but they will have to find a new ADC just as Dynamic had to add a new support. Hopefully their professional gaming careers don't end here, as these players clearly have the talent needed to succeed when they come of age. Riot did what they had to do in this case, and practically every real professional sport league has a minimum age requirement to enter.
Rekkles offered this statement on his Facebook for his departure from Fnatic:
It's now 100 % sure that I will not be able to compete professionally until i turn 17. So I'd like to start with wishing my team good luck in finding a new AD Carry, and doing well in the season 3 qualifiers. Also a big thank you to everyone from Fnatic for giving me the chance to experience how it is to be a professional player.
Since I'm a determined guy, who strives to be the best, I will most likely be creating a "Amateur team", a team who is not playing as top 8 Europe, until i turn 17. Also I will be streaming constantly as soon as i get my new internet, until then only times when i got internet, such as gaming cafés and LAN parties. Also would like to thank you all for supporting me and my team over the past, even though the journey was short.
Dynamic has been searching for a new AP mid player for a bit, and welcomed Danny 'Shiphtur' Le to the role, as well as replacing former young support Pixel with Angelo "I am Anjo" Cortez. They are hoping to rebound from recent poor LAN performances to qualify in one of the remaining spots in North America for Riot's Season 3 league.
Team Manager Samuel 'Hexo' Bouchard offered this statement on his twitter about the new players:
On the bright side we're ready to announce our 2 new wonderful players Danny "Shiphtur" Le - mid and Angelo "I am Anjo" Cortez - support !

Posted 12/25/2012 3:31:11 PMIt's necessary really. The last thing young folks need is to throw away their schooling chasing something as ephemeral as e-sports fame. (not only will it not make you scads of cash like real sports, but neglecting your schooling in favor of it makes you just as unemployable!)

Posted 12/25/2012 12:57:16 PMRekkles is above and beyond the best AD to come out of the Euro scene and its sad to see him not able to compete. I also think Pixel is an amazing support his agressive style with Pixelcrank really fit Team Dynamic. I do agree with Riot that the age requirement is necessary because if I put myself in Rekkles or Pixels spot the last thing I would be thinking about is school and to be honest thats really the most important thing you can do at that age is finish high school.

Posted 12/25/2012 12:56:59 PMI think its well done by Riot to stick with their own rules cause that will give the profesional scene a more "profesional" and serious look and about the roster changes its a shame Rekkles cant participate since Fnatic seems to have boosted their performance with him and lets hope TD can perform better with these changes but imo they need to find their own playstyle and make it work on the top level of play we are seeing lately.
