Riot Games is making some huge strides this year with Season 3, one of which will be an all-star team and game at around the midpoint of the season. All-star games are always fun for the fans to see, and even more fun to discuss. Why wait till the official Riot team is announced though to honor some players and say who we think is the best in the world? Join me in some fun speculation, and get a chance to win RP or Skins!
The rules to enter are simple, create two of your own all-star teams to play against each other comprised of teams from around the LoL scene and post them in the comment section. No team may have more than 2 players from the same team on it, at least 2 regions must be represented per team, and no single team can have more than 3 players overall represented. Every region (NA, Europe Asia) must have at least 1 player selected. Enter your ballots into the comment section of this article for a chance to win an RP Card or Riot Graves Skin!
There's the Alpha team and it looks fairly fearsome as currently constructed. It's not a stretch to say it would redefine the word aggression. Everybody loves Maknoon and I'll personally be appalled if he doesn't make it in as the top lane for one of the two teams. For all his natural charisma he has double the talent. Maknoon has helped his team reach the OGN finals against Azubu Frost, to play against one of the best support players in the world, Madlife.
North America had to be represented somewhere, and even with all his playful trash-talk, it's hard to argue against Doublelift's talent. 2 European players easily make the cut, both from Gambit Gaming. Diamond is the perfect jungle for the aggressive solo lanes. That leaves the mad Russian, Alex Ich, to be the team's mid player. He has proven consistently that he is a fearsome foe that can play a variety of champions and beat even the fearsome Koreans.
This team could be even better than the first. Shy has come into his own in the top lane, and is a major factor for why Azubu Frost continues to play at a high level. Toyz has built on his outstanding play at the World Championships, and I had to select a member of TPA for one of the teams. Snoopeh is a jungle that can play a supportive style and would fit with any team. He's a fan favorite and is easily one of the top players at his position.
Lustboy for me is sort of a cop-out. He and Madlife are so good at support that I couldn't snub one of them. I put them each on a team, just so in the theoretical game they play I could see another great support battle. Speaking of great battles bottom lane, the world would love to see Doublelift vs this team's ADC Weixiao. Weixiao is the best mechanical player in the world and is a sight to see play ADC for World Elite. The battles bottom lane alone would be worth the price of admission.
As you can obviously tell, by only being able to pick 10 players, people are going to get snubbed. League of Legends is blessed with a plethora of extremely talented and popular players right now, and that is what will make the LCS so great to watch this year. So RoG'ers, send in your ballots of your own all-star team(s) for a chance to win some swag, with or without explanations. For added fun you can also drop who you think would win the ensuing game!
