So... What's your opinion on the topic?

By that I mean what do you think about SJW's and tumblr as their "main base". Do you agree with their viewpoint on culture and so on? Why? Why not? What do you think about tumblr as a site?

I personally can't comprehend their standpoint and logic behind it or their values. I understand that their main goal is "equality" but to me their concept of it is so distorted. Maybe I'm wrong on the topic and you can explain it to me or maybe you do agree.

Either way I'd like to know your thougths about them and the tumblr.

Uhhhhh I don't really know what you're looking for people to say, the OP is so open ended you could pick some extreme 13 year old on tumblr to complain about or you could look at blogs published by teams of writers and praise them so this conversation probably won't be very fruitful.

Personally I have dedicated myself almost exclusively to black rights in America so that's really all I can talk about. There's not much I really feel I need to say on it though, everyone in America is well aware of the hundreds of years of beating, oppressing, and profiting from black people that is continuing in America. We make up less then 30% of the country and 90% of the prisons. The media has been reporting (finally) about how black men, unarmed black men, are still getting gunned down by officers freely and most of these officers are getting off freely. There's plenty more but I'm not writing an essay on modern day rascism when you can just Google it. So yeah America's still rascist as hell that's all I have to really say and everyone already knew that lol

As far as the social justice movement on tumblr I don't think any informed people advocating for change are on tumblr, you have to talk to college students about these things because they actually take classes on them and do research before they write. And these informed people who really know about the issues are out doing things about them and driving home solutions, not just talking and talking about it on tumblr. I will say I don't like the language tumblr uses to discuss Social Justice, Black people use much more direct langue when we talk about our struggle; it's not about micro transgressions or a white person saying the N word, it's about the fact that I can get killed by a white man today and he will legally get away with it. Simpler language to get across the points that really matter.

Oh dear... First the tombstone thread and now this... And the day has just started for me :V

I'll just quote my post from the other thread.

I'm all for feminism, sexism is really a problem and while I think League is one of the less "problematic" games because of people like IronStylus and in general improving a lot on the designs - like the blog states at times - there are still some severe issues within the gaming industry.

I just think League is one of the games feminists (sh-)could use as "good" example for portraying women since female champs are not only sex objects with big breasts and butts and skimpy clothing. Look at Leona, Kalista, Vi or Jinx for example - sexualized? Sure, look at Vi's or Leona's body and tell me they aren't sexy. But they aren't the stereotypical woman like in so many other games.

The problem isn't sexualization. Sex sells and guess what? Riot is a company and is trying to sell us their product but as said before, Riot isn't selling champions as "look at me, I'm sexy but nothing else" but actually add personality to their characters. If you're complaining about objectification you should look at everything, not just the character model since you're doing what you're complaining about, objectifing. Let's take Vayne as example - just looking at her splashart you see her butt and breasts and how sexualized she is. But when you actually make an effort and look into it, you see a "grim warrior" who has lost her parents and wants "to purge the League of Legends". You can also look at Batman and think he is an sexualized man or you can look at him as a character.

A big part of the overall problemis that people think "feminazis" are the same as feminists. To partly quote urban dictionary:

There's a difference between a feminazi and a feminist.

A feminist is someone who supports womens' rights. Simple as that. Thinks girls in poorer countries should go to school, is opposed to those music videos that consist of like, three minutes of boob shots, etc. Equality is cool, guys. Feminism is cool.

A feminazi is not a feminist. Feminists believe in equal rights for us, feminazis just make us look stupid. Feminazis believe that all men are idiots, wearing a bra is a symbol of oppression (personally I find bras comfortable), shaving our legs is apparently showing that we GIVE INTO MALE PRESSURE TO BE ATTRACTIVE HOLY SHIT, snowmen must be called "snowpeople", and that any song that mentions a girl is supporting rape or whatever.

Sadly a lot of people think that though and don't want to look at the issue, making the whole thing even more difficult to solve since it should be a unified approach of both, men and women. Feminism is not about women wanting entitlement, it's about equality.

Equality is absolute bullshit and most people claiming they want "equality" actually want superiority. They only see their own side, not even considering that others might also have problems on their own.

Just accept that equality is not given and will never be. Make the best out of it. We are not equal, we all are different from each other and got certain qualities and weaknesses. But that's not bad. Imagine a world where everyone is the same... boring as fuck.

Well we could also complain to riot about "sexualizing" male characters like Braum, Varus, Pantheon, Olaf etc, but you know what... Who gives a shit, honestly... One of those sites also mentioned Urf the Namitee being sexist. (like oh my god you can see her shoulders... why couldn't rito make a full body costume.) If that is your only concern then great. There's a saying where I live that says: "If people don't have any problems then they make problems"

I'm not saying feminism is bad, Womens rights fighters in eastern countries are great but ~~fat stupid ignorant american lesbians~~ ignorant feminazis have made feminism a word which stands for ignorance, man hating and idiocity.

SJW's movement is a just one which absolutely needs to happen but those representing it on tumblr are misrepresenting it. SJWs on Tumblr are simply pre-teens in high school who have good hearts but have not yet learned enough about the world to push in the right direction. I think this is obvious.
