Good to see your doing well dude.  I got my silver over the weekend (and won't shut up about it :D), still mostly winning, catch me if you can.  .

I'm seeing a pattern with the play/dont play support thing.  People who enjoy support seem to find that its a good way to climb elo, people who dont say you should always call mid/top.  I guess the take away point here is that if you dont specialise in support dont play it, cos you'll get owned by those that do and blame mid for not carrying hard enough :p

Since we are talking runes, I've regretted ever purchasing the GP10 seals.  Armour seals are just too good to turn down.  I'm experimenting with marks and quints atm after a long time of just running gold quints and armour marks on evry support.  Not learnt much yet, apart from that sona still really benefits from armour marks (might try the health quints thing on her), and thresh loves the AD marks.

With regards to junglers, I'm really interested in your comments FirionDarklight.  I run AS marks on nearly every jungler (except Lee and trundle) for the faster machete procs.  Am I missing a good trick?

Damn, you're running so fast! Reached 68LP today, still bronze III (II division, I'm coming). I'm at 50,47 win rate and 988 LKS (my MMR says "thank you dude, I really need it!"). All I can say is that I've almost played only Sona and Lulu, and I'm so proud of my Sona (100% win ratio on 5 games played, with 4.5:1 KDA).

Now I'm most often matched with and against Silver V people (even due to the fact that I'm playing 50% of my games with a friend who I helped to reach Silver V).

Glad to know you're doing well too! Hope to play with you sometime, even for a normal game.

By the way, I've got a question for who mains Lulu: which is the best order for the skills? I generally start with E and max it first, then I usually max Q. But I'm not sure this is the best approach, maybe maxing first W over Q could be better. I feel like I'm messing up something with her, but I cannot find what's wrong... have to play her more, I guess.

I'm also thinking on mastering Janna next, but Thresh seems a more solid pick overall.

    Best!

Lulu is my second favorite support... I find that maxing Q first allows you to land lots of harass from a nice safe distance.  I put a point into W at either level 2 or level 4 dependent on when I think the enemy jungler will gank bot, but I generally leave it as a 1 point skill because it only really needs a short squirrel period to ruin a diving bruiser's day, especially if you land a Q slow on him as squirrelmode ends.  Maxing E second gives you bigger shields for teamfights, or moar damages as appropriate.  This is just how I play her however, other opinions may vary :)

I personally would say to learn Thresh over Janna for two reasons.  First, thesh provides a good chunk of hard initiate, which is quite often lacking in soloqueue team comps.  Having pletny of initiate makes it a lot easier to win teamfights.  Secondly Janna provides godlike disengage.... but how often have you played a soloq teamfight where half the team disengage at a sensible time and the other half keep going? She is very good at keeping the carry alive, but so is lulu :)

On the other hand, Janna's MS buff on her W means that she doesnt need boots as much as thresh, will win roaming ward-wars, and she will escape better when you try to ward the wrong bush and a garen jumps on you. Additionally her harass is less reliant on autoattacks, thus you take less damage from minions.  So all in all, just play both a bit and see who you like more :)

Personally, I build Elise differently depending on whether I am laning or jungling.

In lane I max Q first, build spell pen and play like a mage.  I dont think Nashors has a place in this build.

In jungle I max W first, build spectral wraith and then tanky.  I only ever build 2 damage items max on this build, new nashors might be a candidate for the second one.  A lot of the damage in that build is when you dive and press W in spider form, so might be worth trying to max that burst.  In all honesty I dont yet know.

I tend to roam only when I've put the ADC far enough ahead to be happy about his safety alone, typically before we drop their tower, so he can farm up a bit.  This lets me go ward mid and their blue, and while im there it's no real hassle to land a bit of abuse on their midlaner.  If I'm post-6 thresh or blitz this is often hilarious.

I like champions that make me feel like I'm trolling the enemy team.  I like this more than damage or a feeling of power.

So basically thresh and lulu.  Cuddly incoming, mother******.

Meh, crucible looks nice but shurelia's is too damn useful.  I might consider buy it if the jungler builds the reverie and the enemy have someone like amumu or fiddlesticks.

Lissandra needs lots of items because she needs tankiness for her range and AP for her good scaling but poor base damage.

I'm not sure I woulds want to jungler her for that reason.

As others have said, if leona's stun or dash is on cooldown take the opportunity to land a bit of damage on her.  She typically wont want to use her W unless she is engaging so she therefore doesnt have the free stats when you are poking.  Be ready for her combo.... pre-6 she really is a 1 trick pony with no ranged harass and no way out if she overcommits.

Make sure you and the support are on the same page.  I normally play an aggressive support, and sometimes get frustrated if I am adc and I don't see the opportunities being opened up in the way i would be doing.  If I die because I expected an engage, thats my fault not theirs.  For gods sake talk to each other, especially in the time before minions meet.

Oh, and if you have to play Caitlyn, at least be careful with the piltover peacemakers, that ability is practically a written invitation to be engaged on.  It's my favorite spell in the world ever (when I'm playing thresh).

Lots of very sensible stuff about support written in this thread :)

I have one thing to add.  Supports carry games after the lane phase by winning teamfights for your team.  The other thing thresh, sona and lulu have in common is their skillsets allow them to beast your average all-in teamfight if you time things well, and if someone else got all the kills that doesnt mean they won it.  They just dropped the tower for you and dealt with all those irritating minions that kept turning up :)

Could be fun in jungle.  Looks a bit weh for toplane.  Might be a nice TT champ.

I'll probably buy him because I'm a sucker and I'm kinda hoping he'll turn out like Mundo with a gapcloser.  But my hopes arent that high.
