I must admit, I used to love it for the old price, and did tend to grab it on nearly every champion I was running, especially mid and support, but after the price increase I cannot justify that anymore. It's costing now nearly as much as many components of bigger, better items, and I find myself instead grabbing 2-3 health pots instead, just so I can make sure I'll get my bigger items asap. Anyone else feeling that it went from a "must-have" to a "not affordable"?

I agree with all of these points made.
It was really just a silly attempt to play him.
Wasn't too bad. Just clearly he isn't feasible, and it's not something that should be attempted outside of in normals with a premade of friends where it doesn't matter what you do much.

If you see the enemy plays Yi, grab a champ with a stun or knockup, and save it for that occassion.

Alistar is op in that regard, same with Blitz if you get him, and cho makes it easy with an AOE knockup.

I have recently bought Talon, on advise from this forum, and tried him a few times out.
I really like him so far. Being with a couple of friends, I wanted to see how he does in the Jungle and took him into it.
21/9/0 and AD quints and reds, and armor yellows and mr blues.
I grabbed his W first, got a hard pull on blue, then grabbed E and went top to gank a Xin.

The first thing I realized is that you're immensely squishy, and that your skills do piddly damage. Also Xin, of course, took half of my health with two skills (ouchie...).
The next thing I realized was that his CDs are very, very long for jungling, making it really difficult.
You also need a lot of money for items. I went with an early wriggles, but in hindsight I should have grabbed 2 dorans, I guess, seeing how Talon's skill work well with AD.

At about level 5-6 jungling got very, very easy though, as soon as you rank W up a few times.
Of course this was normals, but it was still fun.

If anyone has any working guide for a Jungle Talon, I'd be curious about it.

A silence+flash + slow could make him good in the jungle, if he was just changed around a little, I guess.

As a low Elo player I must agree with MerryLane's assessment if not with his tone.

I'm mostly playing mid, and so far I've faced quite a few Kha's, but they never really seemed much of a problem.
The first time I dealt with one, he used his skills on me, and I saw that half of my health was suddenly gone, from then on I simply farmed under my tower, and went to gank other lanes asap, getting a few kills, then coming back with a DFG to face Kha again.

Since then I never really much trouble handling him.
On the other hand, watching high elo streams, which I generally do every other day, I see him being banned all the time, yet, still I couldn't understand why.
He doesn't really ever seem to have much of an impact on his own. It seems he really needs to wait till half of the enemy team is on 40% health, before he can join the fray, clean up, and then snowball from then on. That works on high Elo because people play carefully, defensively, while at low elo people really tend to feed the enemy relentlessly, which means Kha isn't allowed to farm his items up.

What I learned, playing down here, is that you need to go for champions that snowball hard and fast, so you can outpace your teams determination to give free kills whenever they can, which is why high Elo players, who play on smurfs, are so successful. They force a lot of quick kills by aggressively playing, which allows them to snowball faster than their teams can give up deaths, which in turn also helps the team win, hence a roaming mid Eve's success even at this Elo.
They don't understand that if the enemy Darius killed their Irelia two times, it's a bad idea for the Irelia to jump in and duel that Darius once again, hence snowballing is happening rapidly at 1200 Elo.

So, a Kha is successful at higher Elo because the teams understand the value of farming and -not- dying, which is often lost at low Elo.
That, and not having to pray the troll/leaver is on the other team this time helps a lot.

    That said, quick question though:
Generally, which AD caster is being seen as best in mid role: Talon, Kha, or Panth?
I'm looking at "safe" AD casters that can gank other lanes but also have escapes, so you can get out of a bad situation without sacrificing ganking power.

After a few weeks of hard work, doing lots of solo mid in normals and playing a few ranked games, I managed to crawl back up from the 950 to 1280. I have taken the advise offered here to my heart, and have played a few different roles, i.e. I was top, I was playing jungle, I was playing ADC, and I started to get a bit of a better insight into the game. So far, mid is really my favourite role, and I've fallen helplessly in love with Eve (poor eve, gonna get nerfed next patch). I have grown so good with her that the only losses I have when I play her is usually because I'm being forced to take her into the jungle (and the mid who took the place, managed to feed, each and every time). I've also been playing Ahri a few times, although mostly in normals, and like her quite a bit. I feel that assassin roles tend to suite me the most, because it allows me to help the other lanes to snowball, get kills and carry the game or at least help with it. I tend to have the least deaths and usually some of the highest, if not the highest kill count.

I have about 19 wins and 5 losses since I made this thread, so it seems I'm doing relatively good. I find that ADC is my weakest role by far, and in Jungle I feel a little helpless, because, at this elo, it seems like my teams feed about 4 kills before I hit level 4 (aggravating), which is why I took to playing Pantheon, to try and snowball everyone asap, although I'd prefer to play Olaf (I really like playing him, but he seems to take too long going, especially since lanes seem to like not taking any CC, which makes it difficult to gank). Mid though is what really seems to work for me. I'm going to keep learning more mid champs, so I am capable of facing whatever adversaries may be put before me.

If there are two things I fail yet, then it's confidence, even knowing that I'm good with Eve, I am highly nervous whenever I go into ranked, keeping me highly anxious all throughout the match, and that I have a bit of a defeatist personality, where I want to give up fast, when I see that we're falling behind. I'd like tips for these two things if anyone has them.

Thank you all again for your great advise and tips. It's highly appreciated (and seems to have worked ^^). ~Spiral

Out of some reason I end up being last pick in duo, and, of course, no one wants to support, so I am stuck with that.
I do fine with mid champs, that isn't really the problem, but, like in my last ranked with ahri, how do I carry a game if I have a 5/14/3 Lee in my teams?

How do I carrry if my bot lane's Teemo AD (sigh) gives 7 deaths before I hit level 6?
The terrible thing is that this is common at my elo. This is the norm. I don't know how I can carry myself out of there unless I duo or suddenly play at 2.2k elo level (which I am a far cry of).

Trust me, I can't support carry, if my Mid already gives 10 deaths by the 12th minute, or with my Jax top feeding the enemy Cho 5 deaths before he hits level 7, and so on. I know people say "You will carry yourself up if you are better than your elo", but, Jesus, how can you carry yourself out of an elo range if your team mates die four times as many times as you?

Well, I'm learning mid right now.

I tend to do great with ahri, zyra and morg, as well as swain sometimes.
But it's more to minimize the feeders and trolls, and make the chance that they are on my team a little less than if they were on the other team.
If 2 on my team, my duoQ and I, are doing ok and generally don't feed, that means that only 3 more people -could- troll/feed. So, yeah.

Outside of that, I'd take someone mentoring me as well. Maybe that helps.
I know I don't usually take risks, play it safe, which means I generally don't feed, but I don't stand all that out either.

Hello, my name is SpiralDancer and I need help.
I play on the EUW servers, (am German) fancy myself to be a relatively good mid/jungle/support, with a definitive love for supporting.

During season 2 I made the mistake of starting to go into SoloQ Ranked as support, which saw me falling to 950 within 3 days, losing about 15 games, because it was impossible for me to actually change anything on the outcome of a match as support.

I switched to learning jungle and did relatively well there.
Shortly before season 2's ending I managed to get back up to 1350 or so, then lost a couple of matches as people, sure about their rewards, started to troll ranked, ended up at 1250 at the end.

Now, for season 3, I started to play ranked again, and did abysmal.

I did seven matches so far, and I lost each and every one of them. I did 3 as jungler, but couldn't keep my lanes from feeding. Then I decided to go soloQ with a friend, and played support, while he played top/mid. My friend decided it was a good idea to counter Diana mid with Akali. 7 deaths later Diana was tearing through all of our team. He played olaf top, and lost against shen, I think. I made the mistake of playing support both times.

Then, another friend asked to duo. The first match we were teamed up with a draven who wanted to go mid. He fed a Darius. Results as expected. We went bot, he ad carry, I support. Our "Jungler" in that match died to creeps, and jungled with AP runes/Masteries. Our mid, who played a Ryze with "No worries, I'll counter their eve", died a lot. We lost these two matches.

I went into another match, my seventh, as Ahri. Our jungler, who grabbed amumu, said not a single word past champ select. Died to wraiths. He was not even level 3. Refused to take any suggestions for items. Said nothing, missed all of his skillshots (or most), died a lot. I went 9/3/10 as ahri mid against a LB. Couldn't carry. Our Lee sin, who died 3 times against Teemo top, decided "fk it" and just trolled from there on.

Due to my line of work I play usually late at nights, about from shortly before midnight into the night and till early morning.
Please, I need someone to duoQ with me or to help me, who knows what he does, because I cannot handle this alone anymore. 7 of my 10 placement matches I lost to trolls, feeders, or idiotic team mates. I don't know what I should do anymore.

I have already been pushed down to 980 again, with these lost matches.

About myself: I read guides. I make sure to build mastery and rune pages fitting to the champions I play. I pay attention, I ward, and I generally don't lose my lane, except in some cases.

My lolking page is here: http://www.lolking.net/summoner/euw/19626573

You guys are my last hope.
