A big reason as to why Kayle is becoming so popular is that the Nashor's tooth build is very safe, deals high damage and combines several very powerful and cheap items that only work on someone like Kayle or Teemo. Nashor, deathcap, malady is insanely strong for only about 7k gold.

Nocturne is most powerful as a strong assassin during an initation. You should, a large percent of the time, be hitting the carry during any team fight. I recommend starting either boots + pots or doran's blade and attempting a level 2 gank after you get blue just to pressure. Building wriggle's, merc treds, brutalizer, frozen mallet then atma's will have you shredding carries late game with ease. And even though this is a low damage build early game, Nocturne's Q makes him infinitely strong at the start of the game. You should have no problem ganking and jumping carries in team fights if you wait for your laner to bait an exchange or your tank to initiate a team fight before you ult onto your target. Also, Atma's is still a very strong item after the nerf and Maw of Malmortius is also extremely powerful on Nocturne over items like Force of Nature.

As a side note, I run AD reds and quints, armor yellows and scaling MR per level blues. If you follow my boots/doran's path a vamp scepter first buy gives you endless sustain and you can also start with it if you want to save some gold and wait to gank.
