Was certain that Gambit would win this tourney, although in the beggining they did look slackey, they pulled themselves up when it mattered and showed why every team feared M5 in season 2

posted a message on How does anyone beat Darius top?Posted in: Champions and Gameplay
I'm happy when I see enemy pick Darius :D
My go to champions to shut him down are:
Xin Zhao (R-Q-E-W scaling order) --> put your first points in Q->E->Q->W and abuse him, whenever you see him use his Decimate go in for Man-Mode trades, Xin Zhao wins those because of his amazing early game damage, and you can start these as early as lvl 2. Also if he tries to hook you back in after you disengage, he would either use his Decimate not the fullest (because he just hooked you) or you beat him up again.
Lee Sin --> same as above wait for him to use Decimate to farm and go in for some beating. Maxing safeguard will negate some of the damage, also gets you out of the pull range and from level 6 you can also kick him out pull range if the duel is not going your way.
Jayce --> as been already mentioned just kite him to death and if he tries to engage Q+E him in melee form.
Swain --> beats up most of the melee tops, has a snare, slow, and a dot that actually hurts, plus amazing sustain at level 6.
Kennen --> again kite him to death.

I'd say Xin Zhao, Lee Sin, Jayce, Wukong, Kennen, Swain, Nidalee. More than 5 but these work really well once you get your playstyle going with them. Also some of these champions are really strong early game, when you can build your advantage alone or with help from jungler, and make other top laners life really bad.
