Funny thing is that the only recommended carry item for him is BT. Some carry.

People really need to get over the idea that carries have to build 'carry' items.

If you think back to DotA, different carries were based on different sorts of item builds because different sorts of carries carry in different ways.

Ezreal's a carry and regularly builds very differently from other AD carries. Karth/Cass/Anivia are all very real and very hard carries that don't build any AD items at all. There are even a handful of tanky or straight tank champions that can flat-out carry through a combination of high base damages and good disruption and initiation, although I still wouldn't refer to them as 'hard' carries.

Aatrox may be entirely capable of carrying with one AD item, or even none. It really depends on how his kit works out and all that jazz.

Ezreal is not a carry as he has no innate scaling. He's a ranged skirmisher/assassin. As far as  ap casters- they are not carries. They are generally assassins/supports/initiators (the ones in your example are assassins with the exception of Anivia who is mostly an initiator).

A carry is someone who scales very well with items and gets more useful later on, with a full or almost full item build. Ezreal (and the ap casters you mentioned) are the exact opposite- they are at their strongest in the early- and mid-game and fall-off drastically near the end-game.

An example of a carry would be Kog'maw- terrifying with a full build and very underwhelming with 1 or 2 items.

I wonder how long will the cooldown be for the healing portion of his passive? Wouldn't it be funny if it didn't have a cooldown at all?

He could potentially never die 1v1, as long as he had enough attack speed+ W toggled.

Oh man I misused quote and cant fix.

That's not how his passive works. You need to *spend* life to add it to his passive. Thus, during an all in, it effectively causes his skills to cost 0 hp/mana. During laning, if he's at 100% and in combat, it adds a small buffer of hp (this disappears if he remains out of combat for too long).

Played a lot of top lane, noticed the same champions kept winning top: Darius, Rumble, Renekton. That's all there is to it.

Almost every single melee carry has some kind of hard CC in dota.

    Sven- aoe stun.
    SK-stun.
    Naix- 70% slow+spell immunity
    Slardar-Stuns
    Void- Ult+bash
    Chaos Knight- Stun+displacement.

Looks too squishy to be a top laner. Maybe his base health will be really high to make up for the complete lack of defensive abilities but I doubt it. He also seems to lack direct damage from abilities..... which puts him at melee autoattacker tier, aka garbage.

If his damage is very high, you could use him as an improvised Zed, but again, he seems to rely on AA way too much.

Speaking as a 1.8k player, I would pick Darius or Udyr if given the chance (I main Darius and Udyr is always great against melee champions).

Obvious start cloth+5pot with as many armor runes as possible (armor blues at the least, possibly a full armor page if you think you need it).

Always keep in mind Renekton can randomly dive you or 1-shot you and he actually gets STRONGER at lower health (as he gets more rage). His full combo does about 60-70% of most laners' hp at <5. He can 100>0 starting at ~7 afaik (if he has a slow- sometimes the jungler will donate red, otherwise his mobility is not enough to get the kill).

Then there's random obvious stuff like whether to push the lane or not depending on the enemy jungler, always remember his ult, etc.

I would try to get a kill if I see a weakness at 1-3, max at 5. There's no point 1v1'ing him past 6 unless you're Darius or it's a 2v1 in your favor (hint: his ult does disgusting damage over time and he WILL kill you once he gets his 2nd stun- it's about a 10sec CD).

    That would be "assassin".

    I disagree.

What happens with Zed early: He outsustains you and forces you out of lane or outright kills you. If you're playing smart (read: safe past 6) and the Zed player is good, he'll communicate with his jungler and dive you. I'm pretty sure he can kill 90% of champions in 1v1 and 100% in 2v1.

    What happens with Zed late:
Variant 1: Zed enters fight after major cooldowns are burned. Zed gets CC'd. Zed dies in under a second.
Variant 2: Zed waits until teamfight ends before he goes in. His team either wins or loses, mostly without his help.

Thanks for brightening my day, OP. This was way more entertaining than Hashinshin's actual articles, ironically.
