I don't think people really understand character concepts in ARAM. There's a purpose in almost every character, and even characters that can be deemed "Useless" in the eyes of everyone else, can easily be used to win. Hell, I even won with Trydamere before, and he's considered one of the worst characters in ARAM. [ People need to try leveling his W instead... ]

I definitely do not agree with some of other people's choices of "Good" and "Bad" champions. It merely depends how you play them more than "this character is just worthless". Example, Fiora is deemed 'bad' in ARAM because people think she only has her ult in combination with the single lane and Ravenous. This is true, however, it's VERY easy to pull off her W's because people don't think too much, and just spam auto-attack when they get in range. Fiora can easily build some free damage by baiting auto-attacks this way.

I definitely do not appreciate the new direction of the lore. It honestly defiled the whole purpose of the Institute of War because it actively voids the whole purpose of Summoners, and the whole concept of the Institute of War. When you take that out of the lore, it now leaves an empty shell where things used to be. What is the purpose of the summoner now? The Institute of War was made specifically for the purpose of political battle between two or more opposing forces, the summoners [AKA the players] take a key role within the political struggles that had divided Runeterra in the first place.

Now, there is almost no mention about the Institute of War. Why? Because it's not important anymore. There is no political struggle that now uses the Institute of War to determine its fate, because now it gives everyone less reason to do so. The whole purpose of calling players 'summoners' is because we, the players are summoning these champions to fight a political battle against each other. What else is there for the player if the whole concept has now become more disconnected? Runeterra has now turned into a world where the lore and battles are fought on their own without any player involvement because summoners no longer matter. When a game with a ton of lore and back story have no emotional connection to the players, then what purpose is there for it?

I'm satisfied with Leblanc's placing since honestly, I feel she's really underrated for what she can do during the early and mid game IF her team utilizes what she brings to the table. I also don't think that Leblanc falls off as hard as everyone says she does. But I'm a bit bias when it comes to her.

Ahri - I've been playing Ahri as a support bot champion with a moderate amount of success. Ahri works well with AD carries that can abuse the assets she brings in the lane. Charm is a hard CC that can be very optimal in the lane since it's easier to land against two-character lanes [Particularly within certain 'zones' of Bottom lane where the passageway rather narrow], and the quality of the CC is much better than simple stuns, Snares, or slows. Foxfire is a very mana-efficent harrass. And I mean VERY cheap in mana for how much damage it does even at level 1. With 2 potential targets, the over damage output is better than it seems. Of course, you run more risk of pushing the lane, being harassed yourself, and the fact that you're an aggressive support makes it slightly harder for your AD to follow up. However I think her passive really makes up for it since Foxfire scales better with Spellvamp due to its mechanic.

Annie - I've been playing more and more Annie support, and I love it. With Molten Shield being on lower CD and lower duration, I find this bumps Annie Support immensely, more so than most people think. While it obviously adds more frequent charges to her stun, it also boosts the frequency which Annie can safely harass because if the opposing team tries to harass Annie back. Her burst damage without AP is pretty damn good considering how frequent she can build stuns, and her auto-attack range is massive for poking. If you have more tanky masteries or runes, Annie turns into a Stun-bot like Leona, albeit a little less stunning and more damage with Tibbers

Orianna The results are pretty good for Orianna, and I feel she is a viable support, if not just a little bit quirky from typical support characters. I feel that Orianna is like Sona is many ways that Orianna can support the team by doing a little bit of everything from buffs to shields, to initations, Chain CC, and even damage. Orianna is also among the most versatile of unorthodox support since depending upon your carry, and who you are up against, you can mold your skill order to the needs of the lane. Her Q allows for a more agressive laning phase with constant poke. Her E, being a very defensive, passive ability, but her W, if maxed first, provides a mixture of both offensive and defensive properties that hold interesting results. One thing that Orianna has that other supports do not have is The Ball. A very important aspect of her character is that Orianna can use the ball like a ward. Supports often use wards to cover the bottom bushes to see for sneaky jungle ganks from the lane, or just to see where the support characters are [since most hide in the bush]. Orianna does not need to sacrifice the gold necessary for wards in such cases, as the The Ball can be used as a make-shift ward for that purpose, and thus only needs wards to cover ganks from river or the jungle. This makes Orianna unique in a way that most people overlook.

Lux - I've had tremedous amounts of success with Lux. The utility she brings to the lane is massive, though most people already know that. However, I think the general consent of people's opinions view her too much as a solo-mid character and don't often see what Lux does as a whole. At level 1, a 2 second snare is massive. Combined with her AoE slow, and shield, she can protect her AD carry with no trouble at all. Utilizing her massive range and her early game damage abuse from her passive makes her more aggressive than typical supports, but I feel that Lux also does very well shifting to more defensive measures on the fly, making her very versatile. Lux also acts as a good burst mage after recieving her ultimate. Against a bot lane without heals, Lux does much better against. Due to Lux's abilities, she behaves like a semi ward at times, and can safely check places that have possible ganks due to the way her spells function. Her Lucent Singularity, if casted at the center of any bush, can acutally reveal the entire bush with no hazard to herself.

I find that item efficiency is also determined by the effectiveness of the stat on the champion, such as the argument between Black Cleaver being more efficient on auto-attackers to ability spammers.

  • posted a message on Are Junglers becoming the new Support?

The Jungler is a Support character in more sense than alot of people like to admit.Personally, I see a jungler alot more like a global support, over anything else because they do a lot of what the support does which is secure the kills. sometimes they ward, of course, but overall, it's more suitable to believe that a jungler's role is very support like.

  • posted a message on Locket of the Iron Solari vs. Aegis of the Legion - what's better in a teamfight?

Mid range supports utilize Locket-shield the best. Such as Nami, Lulu, and sometimes Sona

Long range supports, such as Janna, Lux, Orianna, do not benefit as much from the Locket shield because they are usually not within range of the front line tanks and fighters in order for them to gain the shield.

Close range supports like Leona or Lee Sin generally would not be able to shield their carries since they are usually up in the front line.

Overall, I feel the type of support really can determine whether Locket's active is more effective, since Locket requires more positioning concerns than Aegis/Bulwark.
