DFG + ult is stupid damage. Fully built (Sorc+DFG+ Rabadons+ Hourglass+ Void Staff+ Abysall) i was able to one shot the enemy trist through 100+ MR.  It's really a insane amount of burst.

I redact most everything i said. OH MY GOD HER BURST. Get DFG E into the other team, use w and R on their carry and than use Zhonyas and watch as you just killed their entire team

One thing to make note is her relatively low range. Honestly the only time i have succeeded with her so far is vs a diana or top melee. She destroys them as her low range isn't a punishment. 

But regardless of where she is she MUST get tanky. RoA isn't a terrible buy, Chalice gives good MR and CDR, Rylai's isn't bad but not the best. Hourglass is the best item ever on her as it gives her 3s of invulnerability.

Are the new freljord  skins in this patch? Or are they being released with Lissandra? 

On zed energy = damage. Especially since he has Low CD spells and he wants to spam them as much as possible in the 3s of his ult.

If your looking for a support style mid go Morg or lux. Another good one is Anivia and but is VERY hard to play correctly with wall and a very slow Q.

Zyra is decent, but with all those nurfs from week 1 is better at bot lane.

If your new to the game and trying to play ranked please refrain from buying FoTM picks that are often banned or first picked. You could end up with no champions to play in every roll every game. If you have Amumu don't expect to play him as he is an often ban.

Zhonyas actually counters most of the ADC mid (Jayce being an exception). Getting it vs Zed means his ult does literally zero damage as he has ZERO CC to stop you from using it. If your good enough you can beat talon fairly easily. 

The problem with AD mid is what Currycaptain said, no AP damage = easy late game. Just can't let them get fed. Honestly the nurf to pots isn't that big against most mids. Flask x3 is a strong start. Or else they mix hp/mana pots.

Besides that, bots are a good place to see how a champion handles when they're fed. Coop vs. AI is the only thing that keeps snowball items remotely relevant.

snow ball items have their place. I have seen a few 20 stacks of SS or SotO in ranked at high play.
