It's not a buff, since all percentage bonuses to asp are calculated from the base attack speed, in other words attack speed increases will give you less bang for your buck on champions with a lower base asp. She will have a lower asp early, and about the same late. If you add to that that her only pushing steroid was removed, she's definitely nerfed.

I get the sene that it's mainly Viktor fanboys commenting in this thread...

"He so strong, he just hard none else can play him like i do <3" Really?

Saying Viktor is OP is like saying Fiddlesticks is OP. Both have insanely good best case scenarios, but neither will be allowed to execute them against competent players for various reasons. The only reason Viktor occasionally works, as previously mentioned, is because of the enemy team either not being familiar with the champion, hence underestimating him, or due to superior skill. I would never ever pick Viktor in a ranked game, and people who do have to stop being so hipster about it, you play him because he's kind of fun (i give you that) and not because he outperforms anyone.

The biggest problem with Viktor, as i see it, apart from the annoying visual bugs (are these all fixed yet?) is that his stun, unlike above poster claims, is very very situational. It cannot, unlike Veigar's stun, be used offensively due to the far too short range, long telegraph and non-instant cc. This cripples him as a play-maker against anyone who doesn't get out of position in a major way. The only occasion where you may actually stun more than one person with it is if the enemy team is conducting a very straightforward engage (Xin zhao dashes in for example) but against a Malphite engage, Zac engage, assasin engage, poke comp etc. you rarely will stun anyone at all. You can get the gravity enhancement to kind of solve this problem, but that leaves you weak on burst. Back on release, a lot of people including myself were actually doing this, but it's fallen out of favour heavily since then making his stun largely useless against people who know to avoid it.

A champion who has to choose between damage and decent utility will be outperformed by those who get both, such as Lux. Yes, there are many more variables to it, but this imo sums up Viktor's flaw atm.

Not standard as in simple gameplay - standard as in simple theme. A demon with a big sword is pretty standard for fantasy games, the same goes for Warriors with big axes who run in and kill things. When Darius was released, it was said by a dev that his character was so standard because the game previously did not feature this particular archetype. The same kind of argument can be made for Garen, Talon etc. It's just your average, standard warrior and assassin, but the game needs that too. There seems to be a perception amongst some that the only desired things are unique and new, when in fact many people rather want something they recognize. Hence, this guy.

No, but seriously. Some people are complaining that this champion is "uninspired", and while it's certainly not as unique as some, i think it has to be seen the same way as Darius. Some people like to just play badass demons who chop people up, and this champion fills that niche really nicely imo. Just like Darius was intended to fill a more "basic" niche, this guy represents a really standard kind of character which the game previously lacked.

Say, by chance, that you are limited by mana?

Say, by chance, that you are a melee character, and thus cannot trade whenever you please?

Sure, he has some counters who can consistently push him out of lane through simply having too much sustained damage for him to deal with (Cass comes to mind) but that doesn't change the fact that if you're NOT playing a "counter", you will most likely be forced to farm it out if Vlad knows what he's doing.

There is some space nowdays to simply outdamage him even with non-counters, but that's just because he has been nerfed a lot to outweigh his toxic gameplay. That doesn't mean he's "fixed" though, if he was stronger and a top pick/ban, the game would be much worse of than if, say, Orianna was.

The post is called "What it means for a champion to be toxic" and yet you start your post with saying that toxic is something completely different from what is argued in the article and then claiming the poster is "ranting" because by your (incorrect) definition he is wrong.

"Toxic is the word Morello uses to describe game play he believes is detrimental to the game."

Vlad is far from the strongest character in the game, but the most toxic one. His kit allows him to not care about poke, because he has enough sustain to simply live through it. It allows him to become completely invulnerable while doing high damage, and regain health. He defines toxic, because what he does is ignore everything that can be thrown against him. It is NOT that he is easy to play. It is NOT that he is too strong. It is that he through his gameplay discourages interaction, making the experience for his opposition less enjoyable.

Akali is kind of similar in that she leaves very little space for counterplay open. Your top laner fed her a couple of kills? GL surviving the next team fight. Sure, you can say that she's balanced around the fact that she's easy to shut down and gank early, but that doesn't change the fact that if your jungler/top fail to do this, you're up for 20 minutes of very unfun gameplay. The shroud isn't the main thing that makes her toxic, it's the triple gapclosers with high, non-skillshot burst. The only player who enjoys this is the one who plays akali, everyone else is hitting their head against the wall.

Please understand that there is ZERO correlation between a champion's strength and its toxicness.
