Shine on, crazy diamond.
My only problem is that while playing the game, regardless of how much you want to avoid it, decision making will be forced upon you. Just the simple question of 'Who do I heal?' is already a pretty big one. Given you have 5 potential targets, there will naturally be times when there are poor choices you can make. A diamond level AFK heal soraka is still going to make better decisions overall than a silver-level one giving it their all. You mention you'll be poking is people get in range. Just where in lane is it acceptable to stand in? On top of your own casters? Or are you going to be zoning so hard you'll be well past their casters?
I don't know, I guess the point I'm just trying to make is that it's very hard to separate your innate skill from the game. Even loosing on purpose requires you to identify choices that are bad and then trying to execute them.
The answer is in the question of this experiment. Perfectly executed AFK-HEAL Soraka. OK, maybe not so perfectly because i played maybe 5 normal games in the past few months. As it's for poking, i rarely ever do it. Only when enemy overextends or 2v1 situation so i 100% won't get caught an die by doing that.
seems like an interesting experiment please keep us updated with the results and maybe if you are ahead in lane could get a couple of tank items as if you were topraka(tankraka) or a little damage to make the enemies try to get idk i only play soraka in top lane when i feel trolly xd
why not start spellthief edge tho?
What are your thoughts about Spellthief on Soraka? Seems like her "e" is perfect for safe harass, maxing gold income.
I'm not playing Soraka that much to tell. In the AFK-HEAL style it's defintiely bad, on normal active style with some poke here and there... maybe. Talisman's active is great in general and the 20% CDR allows me to cap CDR.
I would advise changing it just slightly to taking a level Q earlier, as Q amps up your ability to use W as often as possible. I understand it's a little out of place for the build, but it definitely helps with the effectiveness.
Regardless, very interesting. It'll be great to hear how this goes.
Hmmm, i rarely contribute to fight but i can take it on level 8. I use Q on enemy either when i'm safe (chasing or when someone jumps on my ADC/APC). I will see next game
I noticed that your team didn't have much CC in those two placements, especially against the enemy team. I feel as if Soraka can't do much in those situations.
In first game my Ezreal owned bot lane, they required WW ganks to deal with him. Top lost only a little bit, our Katarina was main problem. She gave 3 kills or more in 10 minutes to Yasuo and did very little overall. I was even complimented that game for being good Soraka (lol). This game could be easily won if Yasuo wasn't that fed.
In second game. Trundle pillar was enough, i had Talisman to speed up and we were on their face in a second. Problem was Jax being a total beast. Also, Nidalee dealt least damage in the game - yes, even supports dealt more.
I'd recommend to do the same experiment by jungling with Soraka (support/lane in case you won't get the jungle). You will have more overall presence (and even carry potential), just farming and replenishing lanes with mana/heal every minute, warding, and ultiing to countergank. Way more fun imo, already tryed :D
Nah, it has to be support
Today i finally reached 30 level on my 4th smurf (and final, not gonna make more). Primary purpose of it was to drop to bronze V and climb from there while dodging promo games so i can never escape it. BUT since it's not possible anymore and intentionally losing is a dirty move, i figured out
I'm going to play ranked games where all i'm going to do is helping my team. I won't push anything, i won't make any decisions, i won't let my teammates die. I'm letting my team carry for me, i'm supportive force which will give them resources to do their job. All of this is to answer the question
How i'm going to execute it:
So far i've played 2 promo games where despite huge contribution, baits under turret and clutch heals i still lost. I will describe them later, but in both games my top and mid lost their lanes.
When Curse Voice entered closed beta, i had no time organize this stuff. Now when i thought there won't be any more spam, the new wave of key begging while making new threads came. So here is how you can get Curse Voice:
Hopefully everything is cleared.
I'm renaming thread into
You tried to post in Gold+ forums i believe
I was thinking about the new frostfang. Will it make dot champion good as supports? My think is on morgana W...but I will like to bring swain (just for fun), seems E harass will be splendid with frostfang charges.
Swain shouldn't be good support but that Spellthief charges should be pretty broken. Now with the damage amplification too... gonna try that later.
I actually like the Frostfang a lot on Janna, because it provides her with the damage she lacked before. Just shield yourself and use AAs to get money.
This doesn't work unless enemy is braindead. Janna shields herself just like that? Go for her ADC, or wait until the shield wears off and engage on her.
Swain. Top, mid, support (with the new spellthief edge he should be really cool), i heard someone even jungled with him and succeeded. Also, nobody knows what he does.
