EDIT: More accurately I don't see a lot of Shaco support, but the ones that seem to do well are higher on AP then I normally build, I prefer the tankyness for a) the global taunt that Shacos have, and b) Frozen heart can mess with teams. Looking for statistics for high level Shaco play in a non-jungle role is going to be hard, so I doubt you will find much. I'm not having another dick waving contest online as it's futile and further pushes me away from League as a game. Preseason 2014 has  taut me that if done right most champs with a synergy can play any role, and more accurately if you dismiss it you are only showing your inflexibility to the change that League demands of it's players.

Hopefully this year getting into or out of any league will not be "Play X to win" as it felt last year.

yeah they do, especially early on. I was running flat AP Quints with Magic Pen. Reds, flat Armour yellows, and MR per level blues going 7/2/21 in my masteries and feel free to look up my basic build on lolking, it's still in my recent history along with my 7 wins to 2 losses as Shaco support

I've been experimenting in normals with the usual idea of Shaco support. Mostly positive results with extremely high synergy with Caitlyn and Sivir in particular.

The build is roughly

Spellthief's Edge; 2 Greens; Red Trinket > Frostfang; Mobility Boots; Tear>Archangel's staff ;Frozen Heart; Aegis of the legion (then into Locket)
