  • posted a message on Which turret would be better to take? Inhibitors vs Nexus.

    Quote from KeroKai »

So my girlfriend presented me with an interesting question for a game she lost as a 4v5. Whether it'd be better to take a nexus turret or an inhibitor turret?

I mean it's kind of obvious if it's possible to destroy both nexus turrets, that maybe it should be prioritised before anything else. But in the scenario where you know you can definitely only take one or the other, which would be more ideal?

Part of me thinks that the correct decision would be to take a second inhibitor turret so that it's possible to push hard later on. But, what do people think?

Well if you can get both Nexus then certainly that would be the option but if you have the choice between inhib turret or nexus turret(with 1 still left) then I'd go for inhib. The nexus is a more rewarding choice overall but it's also carries more risk since it really doesn't actually accomplish anything on it's own. The inhib allows you to apply more pressure and get other objectives more easily and continues to snowball things in your direction. It's not quite as rewarding but it's a lot safer since it will keep that snowball going.

    Very strong.

His only real weakness is his lack of wave clear. People tend to think his early game is bad but he can will beat nearly every mid in trades(especially the currently popular ones). His typical counters are things like Cass(not popular) or Rumble(tends to go top). It really does come back to his wave clear though, not having anything to deal with that without his ult means he has trouble keeping the other mid laner in lane and not roaming. A good jungle gank then just constant aggressive play can keep that contained though.

His ability to get damage and survivability all from the same items makes him scale stupidly well though.

Delique, I disagree with your statement. Playing passively is not being "cowardly", its waiting for your enemy to make a mistake rather then putting yourself at risk to get them to make a mistake. Being passive does not mean you don't harass, go for kills as they present themselves, take objectives, and so on, it just means that your don't commit to a fight/trade until you are certian the situation is going to be in your favor. Both being agressive and passive have their places, you just need to know when to swap between them. And due to how the mechanics of this game function, I would rather someone be stuck in the passive stage then the agressive part.

Your defintion of carry is also a bit intresting. Being able to soak damage and buff/debuff people is just as important to helping your team win the game as being able to damage  people.

Ah alright, if you define the passive play like that then it sounds alright. I thought by passive it is meant someone who rarely makes plays - which is a sign of low skill.

Not sure where you keep getting this idea that if you aren't making plays every few seconds you are low skill. Making only a few quality plays is better than making dozens of terrible plays.

I'm doing some theory crafting on ad carries. I thought if you get BotRK and LW than you will do some great damage. If you buy BT+ statikk shiv. BT+SS is 5700 gold and BotRK+LW is 5500 gold. Because BotRK deals %-physical damage you will tear through people and bruisers. I said bruisers because they will be your main target if your enemy is not retarded. And with BotRK you have a slow+boost in movementspeed. So you can now escape a Xin or wathever is diving you.

I would like to hear the community about this.

A couple errors i noticed, BOTRK deals %-current health, not %physical. but your point still holds, but it doesnt give MS. Why not ask about SS + BoTRK, since they are both attack speed, BoTRK's on hit will do more damage (more hits). and shiv will proc more. And you get the 6% ms from Shiv. Let's also throw a WITS END + BotRK combo, since they are both on hit and attack speed.

EDIT: just realized you were talking about ADCs, but those items could still work on someone like vayne or kog

BotRK does % current health as physical damage

Right up until someone picks "support" role then grabs Akali and goes mid anyways.

Hecarim has pretty much become the new "amumu" of low elo, high-threat hypertank with great initiation, albeit much more tankier than amumu because of the heal.
Although, Hecarim is really weak early game (almost no CC pre-6, low damage), and that is when many low elo games snowball, so you have to be careful.

Volibear is insanely strong early-mid game with his passive, sets up amazing early ganks and can snowball quite hard. He is godlike at small fights (e.g. 2v2, 1v2, 2v3, etc.) His lategame is quite strong, but not as strong as amumu/hecarim, etc.

Vi is pretty good aswell, she is one of the best anti-carries in the game, her armor shred makes really easy for her and her teammates to kill important targets.

The thing is Hecarim's speed lets him catch people with their pants down(similar to rammus) then add on many people don't realize how weak he is early and don't take advantage of it and you have a recipe to snowball him and he gets much stronger mid-late game.

I'm thinking Nashor's over Morello's because of her passive

Leaguepedia has some info on the relegation stuff

    http://leaguepedia.com/wiki/Riot_League_Championship_Series/North_America/Season_3#Summer_Season

Basically says bottom 4 LCS teams, 4 from tournaments and 4 from ranked 5 queue have a tournament with the top 4 continuing in the LCS. Not sure if that's accurate or not.
