I still prefer BotRK to Hydra. Specifically, we're probably comparing actives. Hydra gives you around 100-90% of your AD for the active, whereas BotRK gives you 150 + 50%. That makes BotRK better until you get 300 AD (which I'd say is pretty late in the game), some movespeed, and it gives you that passive which is super-useful in the League of Warmog's.

They're both pretty much similar, though. AoE vs. single target, I guess. I just generally don't get Hydra unless I'm against a super-pusher like Singed or Rumble where I want to counter-push.

It decreases by 5 per rank, unless the LoL wiki is incorrect: Razor Shuriken, COST: 75 / 70 / 65 / 60 / 55 Energy

I play Zed a lot, and my gut says that's correct, but I couldn't tell you with 100% accuracy unless I was in game.

Her damage output is so gated. You look at the numbers, and she should feel like she hurts, but once you go in, you end up taking someone to 50% and then you've got nothing but auto-attacks with no stickiness at all. She just feels like a worse Xin Zhao

Needs a slow somewhere on her kit - preferably her Q (which is pretty lackluster CC with the knocking people away thing).

She really just can't duel. I don't know if you've tried it, but your basic combo (even post-6) of Q-R-E-E (in whatever order you choose) just doesn't finish anyone off. If they invade, she'll get them to about 30% HP, then just fall over and die.

I wanted to be excited about Vi, but she doesn't bring much to the table - her CC is very lacking and she can't stick to a target to get a second W proc off.

The E bug fixes are related to the E animation going off quickly, but then getting stuck in the backswing for what feels like a long time, because her E is triggering at a faster attack speed than her default attack. Say you have an attacks per second of 1, ie.: punch... 1 second... punch. So you get punch... E... 1 second... punch. Because those first 2 punches still have forward swings of 0.3 seconds each, you end up getting 3 punches off in 2 seconds, which feels off compared to other "on next hit" abilities like Darius' W. With most, you get 3 attacks off in ~1 second because they have less windup and an interruptible or really short backswing. With Vi, it seems like she stands there for half a second looking stupid after her E goes off.

I really think Vi needs a little bit more CC somewhere. A 1-second slow after her Q stun or her ult would do wonders, because you could reposition without people getting out of range. Maybe the fixes will do the job, we'll see.

Doesn't matter if, say, vayne is your favourite - there's a better ad carry so you should be playing that.

Yes, exactly. But here's the important part: you should pick the better AD carry if you want to win. You don't want to win, at least not as much as you want to have your own style. That's fine, but for people who do want to win, there is absolutely no reason to pick Jarvan if you can pick Jax/Jayce/Irelia/Darius. He is just plain worse, so you've set yourself up with a handicap right from the get-go, which makes winning harder.

It's a really simple equation, though: to maximize your chances of winning, you should play the best champion for the role. If you don't play them, you're not maximizing your chances of winning. What's complicated about that?

A lot of people play League of Legends, and many of them have very different things that appeal to them. There's a classic article (this one, specifically) about playing to win which references Magic: The Gathering that roughly divides players into 3 groups: there's Timmy, Johnny and Spike.

Timmy likes the really flashy champions - think late-game Tryndamere or Master Yi, which have a really low success rate, but when they win, they win big. He'll tell you to look at his match history for that one game where he went 25/1/0 to prove that his style works.

Johnny likes to play underpowered champions and play styles and win occasionally. He's the guy who picks Clarity Zilean mid, Twitch top or Poppy jungle. He loses most of the time, but when he does, it was his style of play and he's happy because he made it work.

Spike is the competitive gamer, who likes to win by any means necessary. If this means playing Rengar because Rengar's overpowered at that point in time, then he'll spam Rengar games all day. He doesn't like being matchmade with Johnny or Timmy, because they reduce his chance of winning, and that's all he cares about - no matter how boring the games may be, he still won.

Now, Reign of Gaming mainly caters to Spike - that's why there's math and exact item efficiency articles - they're proving that these things are the most efficient and therefore the best way to win. That's why Madred's Razor is labelled as a noob trap item - because it's inefficient in almost all play styles. If you don't like reading articles aimed at Spike, then don't. But don't come here acting all high and mighty because the site is offending your tender sensibilities of what's fun - the people here like winning.

Dude, first off: He said new Black Cleaver is fine, but old Black Cleaver was not. The thing is, it only reduces 45 armor, so above 112 armor Last Whisper is just plain better at reducing armor. That only leaves squishies, and squishies don't take a lot of attacks to kill late-game. It's a decent laning item, but it wastes slots that are better used by IE/PD/LW/BT. New Black Cleaver will be great on AD casters, but still not all that great on AD carries.

All supports pick Exhaust, unless you're at some stupidly low Elo. Some tops should pick it to counter their lanes as well (eg. against a Jax or Irelia). Flash will never be irrelevant - Season 2 nerfed Flash cooldown and range, I don't think another 20 seconds will change anyone's opinion on the summoner.

I like to take more points in Q if it's an easy lane (eg. level 2 gank resulting in kill). You can totally zone people from minions with it much easier than W max. Even against hard lanes (Olaf springs to mind), you can probably still farm by maxing E and CSing with quick W's and then Qing out.

Hardest part about Riven is when people build Tabi + Chain Vest in lane - it totally removes your kill potential in lane, so you may need to go ward their buff and try to gank their jungler when he goes for it. You can also gank mid really effectively.

If something's OP on AD Sion, that really doesn't matter much. AD Sion is still shut down by CC, and a Cleanse won't change that. He'll still get kited, especially when you remember that AD carries are also going to be all over Mercurial Scimitar, and there's more CC that you can get from items (Iceborn Gauntlet, Shard of True Ice).
