  • posted a message on Lifesteal Quints on Tristana?

The question really is "Are lifesteal quints worth it on AD carries?"

Tristana is actually one of the better early game carries.  Her abilities doing magic damage is a boon in a few match-ups and she has a long range engage/escape.  Even more so, her attack range starts out average and scales up to being higher than others.

It really depends on who your playing against and the supports involved.  If I have Leona, My goal is to get kills.  If I have soraka, it is to harass and farm.

I know that doesn't really pertain to the opening question, but I will address that as it is a seperate concern.  Your basically asking how to play with trist against lanes that essentially are better than you in some way.

Against Draven: Avoid Q trades.  Attack him after he has already attacked with a quick AA>E for some quick damage.  Otherwise, just farm. Most Dravens are looking to all-in you early and have taken supports to match.  Thankfully Trist has a good escape.

Graves: If you avoid his Q, you avoid a lot of his early game damage.  Once again, Graves is usually paired with an aggressive support to get kills.

CaitlynCaitlyn is bad at all-ins compared to Trist.  Hopefully your playing with a support that can either sustain her harass or help with your all-in.

As for the Lifesteal question, sure they do.  Lifesteal quints are one of the few scaling quints in the game comparatively.  As you hit harder, they get better.  But the base sustain from 6% lifesteal is actually really tiny.  Even at 100 AD, your only healing 6 HP every attack.  If you having issues with harass, consider HP5 quints instead to survive the early game or cloth armor start.  As Trist, your probably gunning for end-game anyway.  I personally use her all-in to win lanes with an aggressive support but I have not had the success playing Trist as I would like.

AD quints also just help with last hitting, the most important job in lane for any AD carry.

Don't get Iceborn Gauntlet on Ezreal unless your something like a Top Ezreal in a poke comp.

Your basically saying to the other team "I do less damage than your AD carry because he invested in damage stats. Please ignore me and let the other AD rip my team apart."

except the utility gained is tremendous, and the damage you deal is still considerable. Most fights a fought while sieging  towers, which means that pokes are extremely valuable. Muramana adds a good deal to your poking potential

If your an AD carry, your not going for utility.

I think you are missing out a bit on what this build is about. Just try ignoring Ezreal when he gets BT/SS/IBG, your whole team take a tonne of poke damage and are perma-slowed. I agree that late game your statement is true, but it really isn't for mid-game.

How is it not true for mid game?  And is 4 items really mid-game?

If you have that build and I the same but LW, I will be doing way more damage as any AD carry.  When the team fights happen, I will hurt more and my tanks will have armor to absorb what you are throwing out.  Ez poke is not that scary.  Sure it slows, but do I really care about kiting your team?  If so, that is a poke comp build.  You don't want to fight anyway.

But in solo que, if you team fight, I WILL out damage you by a large margin.

Your new to champion notes aren't you?

It isn't meant to be the highest skill level post about a champion.  In fact, nothing is.  Even a guide by a pro player doesn't really say all that much.  Champions in league are not that conceptually difficult.  But not everyone is of a great skill level.

This is exactly what it says in the title, a series of notes to get to know a champion.  Some champions have been more useful than others with the notes, but that doesn't mean they aren't useful.

Damage is the name of the game for AD carries.  I would never build Iceborn on Ezreal unless I was really really scared of melee.  And as Ezreal, I shouldn't be.  The AD carry is there to deal damage, that's their role.

Your right that I haven't done the math, but for it to compete, certain things need to be answered.

    1. Can I stack the tear easily?

    2. Does the extra physical damage from Muramana crit?

    3. Is it more efficient to get AD from Muramana than another source?

    4. Who really needs that much mana?

    5. When would I build it?  First? Second? Last?  What should an Ideal build look like?

Number 5 is key.  Would I build it first?  No.  Tear won't win an AD lane and takes forever to build, even for non AA champions.  It is competing with IE and BT here.  Stiff competition.

Second Item?  I want Attack speed then.  Muramana does not do that.

Third?  Last Whisper is calling and almost as cheap by this point.

Fourth?  Shouldn't I have defense now?

Fifth? Tear stacking at this point is pointless and I would get an item I missed before at this point or more defense.

That is why I went with Urgot.  He is a non-traditional AD carry who needs the mana and the active to really get the most out of his kit.  The rest do not really need it.

    Urgot

The rest have much better item combinations available.

There is experimentation, but then there is what works.  Muramana does not work on AD's as they generally want more high damage item combinations.

A lot of mine aren't necessarily about League.

I try to post about things like psychology and gaming in general.

Hell, I made a post about exercising to make you game better!

My peers post more about League than I do, but I like to mix things up.  It is important to have diverse articles.

I mean, I COULD do champion notes every week but how much fun would that be for me or you?
