Hmm, no Malphite or Amumu in the elo I play in, always banned. Hecarim is just bad, and yes lot of times I have to hone in on the adc/apc and initiate because team compo is BAD. People at this elo do not really think about their teams but rather what they want to play. But I am improving quite a bit in how I can catch someone off guard or knowing when to initiate, thanks to all the replies :)

I think I didn't explain it better. My qualm is not with the team fighting itself. My issue is that people are not willing to initiate teamfights. And when I do, I find my team still running around the turret. Say, I am a bruiser build Irelia, and the enemy team is at our turret. We are 5 people also there guarding the turret. The enemy team is poking at the turret and getting it low. We are even on k/d, and I ping attack and dive in homing into their adc. And I see my team still behind the turret just walking around. That is my issue, when do you initiate and when do you just be passive. Do you wait till enemy team is say at 50% hp before you initiate? Or initiate at the same hp level when you have a similar class build? Of course, once the fight starts its different. As Leona I usually save my stuns for anyone going for the carry etc. Hope this is more clear.

However, I am learning quite a bit from the above replies and have started playing some outlayer champs like Lux just so that I can see how others initiate etc.

Thanks for all the replies. It just seems like an issue with the low elo I am at that this issue occurs. Going to stick with it and hopefully improve myself enough so I know when to initiate and when to hold back.

I have been playing LoL for a couple of months now, still very new to the game. I have been having trouble in solo queue and am seeking some advice.

I have played a lot of roles now and have found my playstyle to be aggressive, for eg. when playing tanky bruisers with gap closers, if in a teamfight situation, seeing the oppurtunity to home into an adc or apc, i ping and go in, but more often than not i find myself alone. So without good comms, in solo queue is it a bad idea to play aggressively and only skirmish and poke around at turrets?

About 80% of my fights i lane strongly, but start losing my lead when roaming/teamfights. Some advice woud be greatly appreciated as i want to become better, thanks. Regards,
