I agree. Nocturne is my longest-lasting main. What makes Nocturne so compelling is his versatility. He was designed as an AD jungle assassin, but his kit lets him be a melee carry or a bruiser as he so chooses. I argue (though I am obviously biased, having mained him since his release) that he is one of the most balanced champions in league. After his first few post-release nerfs - before which he was nearly xin release broken - he has remained viable and competitive with minimal changes.

That said, his very versatility ruins the point. He is not a dedicated right click carry. His burst can be incredibly huge, as is his build-tanky-and-dive bruiser ability.

Something to comment: Locket is the most offensively geared of these three defensive items. It gives turret dive power in spades, as well as cdr which in a gank can mean that you get a second use of askill before they get away. HOWEVER, it is NOT the cheapest item, because as a jungler you have at least a machete investment, if not a spirit stone. Comparitive costs with ancient golem are 1850 to 1700 if just machete, 1850 to 1300 if spirit stone. So in a gamewhere you are behind? You want that golem for all the crazy cost efficient stats. The locket is worth the additional investment if your ganks are still strong currency to convert into kills.

Considering that, I would argue the following: Locket is best if even or ahead, Golem if behind noticeably, aegis if against aoe (which is likely magic and will result in a bulwark, though a fed mf is an exception to this.)

Excellent article. Trying to explain this to people is so often very, very difficult.

    Hmmm... Wraiths/wolves/golems have a 1 minute spawn time, not 40 s unless something changed over Christmas. 5 + 15 + 10 = 30 GPM not 45 no? Or am I missing something?

Interesting idea. However, we already have that stat. It's called ABILITY POWER. Why not just make spells that scale with AP but deal physical damage? Not altogether difficult. However, this breaks the point of AD spellcasters. That is, they DO have a significant auto attack. Their entire point is that their auto is considered part of their spell combo. Thus the concept behind the only AD caster item that went unmentioned in this article, SotD. Take 300 AD without an IE, three crits @ 210% is 1890 damage. On top of the spell combo. The +100% AS for those three crits means they get off FAST, too.

TL;DR: "AD casters didn't get any love! But look at all these AD casters who are absolutely broken because of this item. And when they nerf this item, AD casters will back to being manageable." I really wonder why you are given the ability to post on this site. It's embarrassing to the rest of the staff.

Ah, sorry, I didn't notice that he was in the original post, my bad.

As for the strict rotation, that's fine. Every single stat this item gives, Ryze wants. On a damage output scale, this is massive compared to FH, with only a small loss in tankiness if one it replaces the FH in the build. And that is BEFORE factoring in the sheen proc auto attack. Even if he rotates and only auto attacks once, that is a rather substantial increase in DPS and burst with almost no downsides. AND he gets a slow out of it that will keep his target in range for his next rotation.

Toggles don't give sheen procs. That aside... why has nobody mentioned Ryze? Nigh-unending sheen procs, AP, tonnes of mana, CDR, and constant AoE slows. Especially against mostly AD teams, this combined with FH alone turn Ryze into a tanky assassin from hell.

You could say in all chat, "Har, har, we killed you", yet do you think killing is a less severe crime than rape?

No. Of course not. It's the same context. There are people who have family members who have been killed, too. There are people who have been beaten. If you want to sensitize rape, the same goes for assault and murder and pretty much any other crime.

It's all in context. Rape is a very sensitive subject and individuals who have problems with that word may well play this game.

However, that is not remotely possible with the word kill. If they have a problem with the concept of killing one another, they aren't going to play a game whose primary gameplay mechanic is killing.

Now, were this a game where rape was a primary gameplay mechanic - which would certainly be considered socially reprehensible, however again, if you didn't like the game you wouldn't have to participate - using the term rape would be contextually entirely appropriate.

Really, that's the point to this article. Everything should be taken in context, however there are words that carry power and weight beyond the characters that comprise them, and we need to be careful when using them.

Attention all those against this ban:

Riot sets the rules for their game. It's *their game.* That means that they get to decide what is ok and what is not, and the penalties for breaking their rules.

IWillDominate broke the rules repeatedly after repeated warnings and punishments. He was punished 8 times; beyond the normal limit of a permaban.

If Riot sees that this player has repeatedly broken the rules and made the game worse for his teammates, then he is a toxic player and should be excluded from the game. Riot has 100% the right, and in my opinion, the obligation, to uphold this ban and show people that they don't lose all power to be banned after they get to a certain elo/professional level.

    Applause for Riot.

You bought into that shit? They want people to be robots. And now they want to control what people do outside of the game? Fuck them.

You get punished for having an opinion and dropping an f-bomb. This means nothing. Their rules are unreasonable and cannot be followed, thats why so many people are banned.

Riot is completely wrong and the tribunal is primarily used to go get back at players, not because anyone is actually offended.

Point 1: If you don't like how they manage their game, don't play it.

Point 2: You get punished for expressing your opinion in a negative manner or being a negative influence. You can get rewarded (via honour) for positive criticism and helpful tips. Very few people are actually banned.

Point 3: Riot does NOT do this to get back at players. They do this because it is what the community wants. Sure, some people report you to get "back" at you. Tribunal only brings up repeat offenders with high report rates, and then the neutral community who was not personally insulted by you votes on whether or not they want you

and your comments in a game with them. Finally, for permaban cases, Riot tends to review the situation and ensure that it is not a false positive.
