I still believe that Zyra is a really strong mid laner. I main mid, but it is my brother who plays a mean Zyra. He almost never loses a game, or even lane, with her. She is a very strong lane bully and, woth good positioning and timing, she is a monster in teamfights.

Lee sin can also make for a decent support. I take W lvl 1, then max E for a good slow. At lvl 3 you can poke with your q-q-w combo, and even go q-q-e-e and killing up the enemy ad (with good communication with your ad). Then at lvl 6, you can go q-q-r-e-e, forcing the enemy ad out of position and leaving the support behind, unable to do anything unless they blow flash.

In 2013, my LoL gaming resolution is to have the confidence to play ranked, not just in my best roles (mid, support), but all roles. I want to be a positive part of the community, and make LoL a friendlier and more positive game. GL HF 2013!

In my opinion, as a support/mid main, the 4 best supports that fit with almost any team are Taric, Leona, Lulu, and Soraka. Other supports are great too, but you asked for 4, so I give you 4.
