My biggest problem with roaming as a support is missing xp. This has been my current worry lately, not falling behind in levels, mainly because I usually play tanky supports like Ali, Thresh, or Taric. If I'm on a caster I don't mind it as much because they exist for their kit's utility, but a tank support has to survive being in the fray and a 2 lvl difference is huge in lane.

I worry about back times and even going to place wards, I'll have to look at it a bit more...

I can't wait for this weekend. I have low expectations for NA, I just hope they avoid last place, anything more and I'll be ecstatic.

Ali's kit is timeless (as long as it isn't changed). He will always be a decent support. He has a malphite ult on a very short cooldown, drawback is it takes 2 of his abilities to do it. In lane you can sit back and heal or have the threat of your combo for a hard initiate, he always is tanky thanks to his ult. In team fights I like to sit back and peel for my adc rather than engage, heal as often as possible, and make sure you save your ult for the right time bc ali won't have much tankiness without it. He isn't the strongest support out there, but he does work.

I think the chat and item customization should be supported by riot, but leave jungle timers alone or to external programs. I've seen a few different applications that do things similar to this and this one looks like the best I've seen, I might try it out. I like the jungle timers just because it can be helpful for remembering when things get busy in game and also because trying to scroll up to find a timer with lol chat can be very annoying at times.

The chat is awesome, even something simple such as MIA would be much faster for "~+1" since your hands are already there anyways, that looks great.

As far as people worried about the item changing on the menus, I don't think that's a problem whatsoever, there are other popular apps that already do this and have for months. I've never heard of a ban over it, also fairly recently there was a thread (on reddit I think I saw it, but I believe it was an official forum post) about changing the text color in chat for things like Dragon to be bright red or whatever color you want and removing the chat messages for when people buy items like wards to not clutter up chat and making finding dragon timers faster and easier to spot, this got a post from a red giving more information and seemingly advocating the modifications of the necessary file(s).

As long as you aren't cheating, I highly doubt using these convenience programs would be an issue.

Rene is not, nor will he ever be a top tier jungler, but that being said, he can succeed in the jungle. There are a lot of lower tier junglers that can do very well if you know what you are doing. A good jungler and jungle on a lot of champs. I thought I was going top lane after some miscommunication in a game once and took wukong but the guy I thought was jungling switched to top last second and I hadn't noticed. I had never jungled Wukong before, (though I had thought about it) and I ended up having a good game and we won decisively. I played vs a Rene jungler a week or two back that utterly dominated and carried the game hard, anything can happen.

There are plenty of capable junglers that make better laners, but they can still be fun to play in the jungle even though they may not reach their fully farmed potential. I have quite a few champs I would consider jungling in normals for fun, but probably wouldn't use in ranked since there are generally stronger picks. There is more to the game than picking 5 tier one champs, there is a lot of leeway and you should just try to have fun (while trying to win at the same time). If people flame, mute them. Good luck and have fun :)

  • posted a message on Tips on raising ELO?

What I've done to raise my Elo by over 100 twice was to stop playing ranked completely. I just played normals, LOTS of them. I played new champs and learned them. I would stop playing ranked and learn a new champ or two per role, learn them well. Learning new champs helps with matchups, just knowing the ins and outs/ strengths and weaknesses of them in different situations that are tough to know without playing them, and I've found increases my overall game knowledge. I'm talking like at least a month break from ranked is what I take, usually 2 months, then I go back. I've done this twice and gained a bit over 100 elo each time.

Also, get your cs up... on my to do list.

If you can get a PBE account you can try all new champs (or even older ones) before purchasing and play as much as you want to get a feel for a champ before dropping IP.

I'm currently using a 20" monitor but it's having issues so I'm looking to buy a new one. I was thinking about getting a 27" but then I was thinking about how far I would have to move my mouse in game. I'm curious what everyone is playing on and their thoughts, do you notice any difference on a different sized monitor?

9/21/0 on sej with magic pen reds and I actually use gp/10 quints bc I get boots of mobility and don't really need the MS (though it never hurts) but it helps in games where there aren't a lot of ganking opportunities, but I might try the HP5, but to counter her weak early clears I just buy a couple of pots on my first few backs, I'm not sure which would be more beneficial in the long run. But after early game you don't need the HP5 (especially if you build any, which you get from your machete upgrade and warmogs) and the gp10 helps all game.
