I am usually the first person to gripe about how bad Riot is at handling nerfs and buffs, but this patch is a work of art and for once makes me respect their balance team a little more.

I love the rest of your article though so I would give you a 9/10. I hope Riot understands the problem with the League system half as well as you do. I was pissed about the Leagues system and the fort pot change before I came to RoG today and I'm glad I'm not the only one in the room who sees the giant pink elephants.

Have you seen WildTurtle climb Elo? He mutes his entire team at the start of every game until Gold.

As an ex-Evelynn main, I disagree strongly about Evelynn. You say "only a couple of nerfs," but being nerfed twice is actually huge, especially considering that the last nerf nerfed FOUR parts of her abilities AND DEATHFIRE GRASP WAS NERFED TWICE! You are probably my favorite author on this site, but your statement about Evelynn having "only a couple nerfs" and the paragraph that follows make it look like you don't understand the champion as deeply as you think you do, especially when you don't actually mention the two DFG nerfs and make it sound like the NA pros are wrong to have only picked her a total of three times in the LCS. My main and favorite champion was gutted by two nerfs, one of which was huge, and her most core item that she rushed every game was nerfed at least twice, and it is painful to read you call her OP and belittle the gigantic nerf she has seen. They changed from % max health ult to % current health, plus 30 second ult cooldown, -150 range, 40 base damage off E, not to mention they HALVED her ult's AP ratio in the first nerf and nerfed DFG from 25% health to 15%, and then further nerfed it by taking off 5% CDR and some gold that is far less important than 5% CDR. But no, of course that's "only a couple nerfs," right? I must just be a flavor-of-the-month, fair-weather fan bandwagoner for abandoning my favorite champion and main after these teensy little nerfs. Oh and the pros are underrating her for only picking her and banning her 3 times in the LCS.

I'm sincerely sorry for the rude tone in my comment. There are some issues in my personal life that have me slightly tilted, and I don't think I could construct a more polite version of this comment right now, but I am too disappointed to hold my tongue and not voice my dissonance. You seem like a mature and polite person, and I still have a lot of respect for your opinions on the other 99.1% of LoL champions.

This article came across as a tl;dr whine to me. I'm guessing that it was intended to be humorous but what I read really just came off as complaining for the sake of it. I criticized a few pros over the course of the LCS because they were not performing at the same level as everyone else. The majority of these players were benched before the end of the tournament. Also I find it misleading to refer to a player as Challenger after they no longer have an account in the division, and since you are both authors on the same site I expect that it came off as tooting teammate's horn or a circle-jerk to a lot of readers. I don't interpret it that way, but I'm just saying that I'm pretty sure some people will get that sense from it.

I would be lying to say there was no part of the article that I liked. I liked when you talked about how pros don't necessarily know why what they do works but rather just that it does work. Most players don't realize that and it's certainly true. Probably my least favorite article of yours that I have ever read, but you are one of my favorite RoG authors so that doesn't mean I think it's total garbage.

My amusing pro criticism of the week is that Zuna used the wrong skin on Shen. He should have used the Doctor skin so that both he and Sid would have 1 more hp. Yes, I realize that Zuna might have been more comfortable on Warlord Shen, but I expect players at that level to be able to play any non-banned skin without it effecting their performance.

In my opinion it is obvious that Elise is better than Ryze now that Muramana does physical damage.

I found the need to comment because I've been labeled a bit of a hashinshin fanboy (ironic because a lot of those commenters say he should write more like me, so if I like his style, what does that say?)

BUT, that doesn't give me the right to come on here and flame hashinshin. Holy shit, do people need to chill out. A REALLY, REALLY good LoL player is taking time out from his day to write articles about the game, offering his opinions, his suggestions, and occasionally his advice. And yet post after post, hashinshin faces consistently negative comments from the community, and they expect him not to have a sarcastic tone in response?

Most of his posts say something insightful about the game, but people get too butthurt to see it because he called a champion they like easy, or badly designed, or called their favorite class too easy, and so they flame his style. Well guess what; if you disagree with hashinshin about something in LoL, he's probably right and you're probably wrong. Because he's REALLY good at this game.

You know when somebody blames Elo Hell for their loss and rages at their team? People are basically doing that to hashinshin, but about their opinions, not a game won/lost.

Random curiosity: why me/VVinrar/Elementz/Stonewall, and not, say, Diff or Eyebrows or Emerald?

Have you ever seen Hashinshin stream, or perhaps watched someone streaming while in a game he is in? He brings a very negative attitude to the team, and whines constantly. As a result, the community has developed a great dislike for him. From the way you were writing, it sounds like you don't understand the community's behavior or are ignoring this contextually important fact. I am not defending the troll comments, but rather disagreeing with the subtext I seem to be getting from your comment. The community's dislike of hashinshin has a legitimate basis.

I get your point Gustaf, but I don't like any comment that sounds like it's praising Cop. That guy is grossly overrated, and was one of the worst pros in the LCS. Is he better than Butch_Flowers? Yea, probably. But he still is such a pansy that he would rather force a teammate to die to Ace in the Hole than have his precious HP bar go from 95% to 70%.
