It's a great article, thank you very much. The graphs were surprisingly legible and my mind is suitably blown! Gj!

Jarvan 4 does a good job carrying pretty hard with a half decent team. He's tanky enough to last enough for your team to follow and can build Trinity Force or a few other damage items like Hexdrinker that give him a high damage output. He also has godly ganking and great teamfight utility with EQ combo + ultimate.
I had not tried J4 for the longest time but he's my default choice now for my ELO (1100).

Thank you for yet another excellent article.
Would you say Udyr should build Tiger now rather than Phoenix? Given the league of gap closers, when would you pick him in Solo Queue? Is low ELO a consideration, if I think I'm better than the average jungler at my ELO?

One last point: I feel that a more snarky tone in a video commentary is fine and actually quite enjoy these jokes.

It is because I love Stonewall that I give him candid feedback on this issue. While the tone is escalating in some places, it is in part because Stonewall went aggressive in his replies. A perfect example of why sometimes silence is a better answer.
In the end, our favorite jungler should ignore bad players and focus on where he can make a difference. Triage is his concept after all. He should use it as well in writing/communicating in game, not just in deciding which lane to gank :)

Stonewall, I love you, your content and your humour. I learn from you daily, especially sitting at 1100 Elo and with S3 having arrived.
This doesn't detract from the validity of his comment with respect to your tone in game in that video. Teemo was bad, but you should triage him and just ask him to play safe/farm. Insulting him doesn't help.
With the person above, he stated that his first impression of you was negative because of this video. He might be new to RoG which explains why he has a new account and doesn't know you.
Please try and see it in a constructive manner and not as a personal attack, even though I understand being called toxic is upsetting.
Thank you so much for all your amazing content, this article series is particularly wonderful and must be a huge amount of work.
Regards,
Kash

While I found your suggestion of Doran's blade + pot really interesting, I think it works best perhaps on other champions.
Skarner really benefits from machete because of his Q, which also benefits from it. Skarner also wants to build tanky and the blue stone upgrade gives him everything he wants and allows him to easily build Mobility Boots for better ganks.

Skarner is really fast to clear but finishes first clear low on health (vs. starting with regrowth pendant, which he could do easily).
I buy the Spirit Stone ASAP (vs. getting philo stone previously) and upgrade it to Ancient Golem (blue stone) which helps with mana a huge deal. I then get the Sightstone because I love wards, but that is up to you.
Also, you shouldn't feel ashamed to get second blue for yourself and only donate 3rd blue onwards. It will give you the mana you need to help all your lanes and clear quickly, including mid-lane. This is a significant difference from S2, so expect some backlash from your mid player. The situation should calm back once you donate 3rd blue and show your helpfulness in getting the team/mid player ahead.
I'm trying to discover the optimal runes/masteries and mid/late game build on Skarner now, so please share any insight =D
Currently my setup is:
Runes: Move Speed quints, Attack Speed Reds, Armor Yellows and Magic Resist/Level Blues
Masteries: 0/21/9, getting all standard but trying health regen (rather than reduced slow duration). My logic is that Skarner has a great slow and an even better Ultimate to engage but might need the health to be safer/faster in clearing early.
Items (Mid/Late): In addition to "blue stone" and Ruby Sightstone, I get Mobility Boots (as I have tenacity from the blue stone) and Sheen and then Aegis whenever possible. I also buy more pink wards or Oracle to clear for Dragon/Baron.
If you clear the multiple "free" wards from enemy Sightstones, I find that Oracle is still pretty damn good to set up for an objective. The only difference is that you have to re-buy for the next time, so maybe that's not as appealing but dying and losing Oracle feels less aggravating if you've cleared a few wards with it already as you were already going to have to buy another one for the next major objective.

posted a message on So the new patch just hit the EU....You want to go straight to sightstone for most supports, so you can amortize it quickly. The savings on wards in laning are amazing and provide more gold equivalent than the philo stone.Posted in: Ask the Pros
Btw, philo stone gives a lot less HP/regen than before, which might explain why you feel less survivable. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.
