Hey guys, I've been thinking about the brand changes on PBE a lot lately. At first sure, they seem like an obvious buff in the health stacking meta, but after thinking about it I'm not wholly sure, cause they did take a ton of base damage off of its base.

Note: I feel like it has to be a buff in a 5v5 situation, seeing as how they changed the way R behaves in terms of prioritizing champions.

Does anyone know the actual math on him?

    Allo again guys!

Firstly, I'm pretty impressed with all the discussion going on! I read through it all and despite the arguing there has been some really thoughtful views expressed here. Secondly, I think MerryLane has a perfectly valid point, which is primarily that the higher you get in elo, the quicker the players farm. Which, in and of itself, will make any champion more effective within fewer minutes at higher elo than at lower elo. Some champions have scaling disparities, i.e. my maokai is extremely resilient and is still useful even if his farm is shut down. But the argument he's making is purely for the scaling; If you're in low elo and farming at an average level, well then the person on the other side will be too, most likely. So who scales faster? that also depends on how many kills you get, and how quickly. So overall the simple farming argument doesn't hold much weight under a million variables. No matter what, matchups will be skillbased at the core no? All of it makes sense though. S3 has certainly helped  him alot, LCS definitely made that obvious, if nothing else.

Alright, fair enough. So it was say, the rengar nerf that made everyone realize how good he was? xD

So, When I watch the streams, I see everyone playing and banning the crap out of this guy. I got him at release, and was largely unimpressed. I mean he's been fun in 3s for me, but what exactly is making the 2k elo community so in love with this guy that they would consider him broken? And why hasn't the trend filtered into low elo play? xD I mean, should I drop everything and learn to play him as well as my other mains?

Thank you to anyone who can elaborate for me :)

It's just so little as to not even really justify the item itself, I feel like. But maybe that's just me

I think my main issue here is that with champs that could use this item, literally none of them actually need the stat for the jungle creeps. I mean, if you think about mundo and noc and the others, particularly vi, you're talking about ads that can shred jungle camps throughout the game without even getting a machete; I sell the machete if I ever get it on Vi, and focus on other items that give me moar damages or moar tank. And as the previous poster mentioned, being able to kill the champ you're ganking immediately is much more important than a true damage dot. Even then, it's worth mentioning that the dot in question does less than a lv1 ignite when fully maxed. AKA, I feel like itemizing for the dot is useless because it's really rather negligible given that there will most always be an actual ignite, doing way more damage, that also reduces healing effects by 50% going on at the time that this dot would be most useful.

All that being said, simply having the dot would indeed pretty awesome for mundo's cleaver, I just don't think it's worth all the rest of the junk, considering that his AD is fine with his E the way it is. The health and tenacity of SotAG is considerably more useful for mundo with the warmog passive.

TL;DR - The dot is the cool/unique part of this item, but it's really weak and rather unuseful.

Definitely appreciate the thoughts guys. I guess experience in teamfights is the best guarantee of not overextending, or having the reflexes to catch someone else doing it. The post about diana had a good point in it too. I have been in situations before where I actually caught someone overextending with say a gap closer, but put too much distance between myself and the team in doing so, and died early. Which is a communication error on my part.

Alright so here's me, I am a jungler just getting started in ranked (2/0 so far!), and I watch Oddone and vicious literally any time either of them are streaming. So, I was watching Oddone a few minutes ago and he made a comment that you should always go for the tank if they overextend, but ignore the tank if he doesn't. And I was thinking, sure, makes perfect sense. But how much extending is overextending? I'm thinking very specifically; I understand that this answer will be situational (i.e.singed can extend however far he likes, in some cases), but I'm curious.

If my team is say, pushed just slightly out of the jungle in mid lane, and their team is exactly at the jungle line in their side of the same lane with the tank poking out a bit, how far for him is too far? How far for me (tanky jungler) is too far?

Reading this post I may not be making any sense, but hopefully someone understands what I'm trying to say xD
