    Actually, the killer gains 100% of the gold and the assist gold of 62.5% is divided between the assisters. This has some weird properties. For example, if you grab first blood, the assister ALSO gains 100 gold in addition to the natural amount of assist gold.

     

    If you have 5 people, and someone kills the person worth 500 gold, then the amount of gold that flows into the system is 500 + 312.5, with roughly 80 gold per assist. On the other hand, if there is only 1 assist, they get the full 312.5 gold.

     

    That last part details why bot lane can snownball quickly; each death gives 162.5% gold to the enemy team of what it would give in a normal lane.

    That's pretty stupid actually. Unless you can go IE in one fell swoop, you shouldn't grab it. The pieces aren't spectacular; it's the passive. You can get much more dps by going BT 30 -> PD -> PA for about the same price AND the flexibility of going IE if you have the gold of LW if you need the damage NOW.

    All this really confirms for me is the math I did in Dec: % Pen is not only killing tanks but also squishies and needs to be toned down else it just becomes mandatory every game.

    That wouldn't be a problem if the 120 AP items weren't also mandatory and didn't give 120 AP. I really want to compare VS with DFG. The 20% damage is essentially +20% base + 20% AP. It loses to DC in that regard, so I'm really curious about who wins in base damage scaling.
