  • posted a message on Jungle Olaf?

Olaf used to be a 1v1 god, with only Trundle able to compete.

Unfortunately, not only did they nerf his True-damage power with a health meta, which True damage hates.  But they also nerfed the cooldowns on his W and E, removed the bonus armor pen on a non-active R, and made Q's horrible slow degrade with time.

overall, Olaf's still a strong duelist, but he can only duel when all his moves are off cooldown, and he can't stand prolonged fights anymore. You're not going to be pulling off your famous Olaf Jungle invades and getting kills on Brusiers. You can't chase worth a damn, and your fighting ability is cool-down limited like Xin Zhao, only you can't chase STILL.

Ignore the silly passive armor pen the ultimate.  Lower Olaf's W and E cooldowns back to normal, and perhaps..just perhaps fix the Q slow-reduction, and he'll be able to fight again.

  • posted a message on Magma Chamber - 1v1 yall!

So yeah, it came out and nobody's talking about it yet so....meh.

So, a big old 1v1 Map, where your favorite top and mid can go at it!  As a Jungler....DAMN YOU 1V1 MAP! Give me a giant Jungle map next time....but take your time, it's cool.

So, along with our Howling Abyss, the Crystal Scar, Summoners Rift, Twisted Treeline, and now Magma Chamber. We have ourselves 5 maps, and that's huge. Right now I'm stuck doing Howling Abyss if I want to 1v1 with my friend, and it's not too much point, but it's an option.  I now realize why they have that incoming Magma-Renekton skin, so...huraay!

Our fiery Skin's now have a place to thrive, 1v1's are fun and I'm ready to Junkyard-Trundle it up in there.  That'll be fun I guess. So what do you people think about this 1v1 map? Who're you wanting to play with, face off against, any friends you want to prove you're better than?  It's also Magma-ey....and Magma is cool.

woah woah woah. I just mentioned Trundle because I love the Trolly bastard, I don't want people to be be able to 1v1 him, and thustly sing my praise.

Aatrox also was changed from a Carry to a Fighter recently....which apparently is the same thing.

Because  really, it's just a carry who can fight, that's all.

The animation itself is quite amazing, especially that dark flight.

  • posted a message on Aatrox, the Darkin Blade

The term carry originates in Dota, and I've played it. Oh how awesome the Skeleton king is, then you got Lucifer, who amazingly enough, is the original Nunu complete with consume and Satanic theme.

What? Nunu's called The Satan Jungler for a reason you know, and despite his ties to Lucifer in Dota, it's more to do with Nunu being Nunu.

BACK TO THE TOPIC AT HAND!

I've got serious doubts on Aatrox's current passive. I mean, 35% of his health is the current max base line? Thats fine and all, but that's like saying Zac and Anivia have to always revive extremely low on health...they do, but there is a reason for it. His Cooldown of, 220 seconds right now is 20 less than Anivia, and a full 80 less than Zac.  The problem is his Passive seems to act more like Tryndamere's R than those passives, at least in funcitonallity.  He might have the revive animation, which despite being annoying would look rather cool, and allows him to go all Zed on the carry and come back up just in time for the feast of blood.

However, it feels extremely weak in the likes of 1v1's and duels. He doesn't build health and resistance like Zac, and he doesn't attack from the back lines like Anivia. For someone who's up in the faces of his foes, this Passive won't be as usable.  It won't save you if it has the animation like the others.  If it revives instantly, similar to a magical Tryndamere Q the second you die, no input required? That'll be awesome, and that's what I wanted originally.

So um, what do you guys think of the current passive?

  • posted a message on Aatrox's taunt lacks logic - It would be nice if someone from Riot could check this

    His Taunt should be
    "Surrender and Die!"

    no "or" about it.

Besides, it's a taunt, it's supposed to sound more badass and less logical. I mean, logic just isn't as epic man, rule of cool.

  • posted a message on Udyr - An Idea

I'm a long time fan of Udyr, as he's a Karate Master and damn amazing.  I've got plenty to say on him, but haven't yet because I don't want to half ass it. At the same time, I won't be near as smarty pants as many others who might post here, so um...some small thoughts for now.

I'ma totally disagree with your idea's, and Hashin's post as well. Udyr feels strong surely, but the way we're categorizing his style in the game?

Udyr's amazing strengths and ability to snowball arn't the same as other champions, like Lux or Xin Zhao.   He doesn't become "godly" in the bursty damage department and start devouring teams.  He also doesn't go Jarvan/Sejuani style and start taking no damage from anything.  It's the fact that he's in the firm middle-ground here that makes him so powerful.  Udyr gets some early ganks, get's gold, uses any item he buys to do anything he wants.

If Udyr can't get a gank, he relies on amazing clear speed to clear the camps enough to stay level-ed up with his team, it's as if he's Solo-top against a DC, as he's keeping up in farm rather nice, and can roam to help where needed.

If Udyr does get ganks, he doesn't need more, he can farm still, but he can also duel, you can't just counter-invade him, he's resistant like that.  He can fight you down, scare you away, or run away. If he's out of mana he can't do either, but if he has it he's ahead.  While his mana problems are a key weakness in his early power, it forces you to use your amazing potential correctly, not just gung-ho it like Zac and try and do everything. It gives Udyr room to be strong, while giving him a defined weakness. Similar to some AP carries with heavy mana-costs for heavy-hitting abilities.

He still has sustain in his kit, he still generates health, provides defenses, and regens mana.. albeit weakly.  They're powerful tools in his kit, and he uses them wisely.  Turtle no longer gives mana sure, but the mana you originally gained was horrid to start with! Back in Season 1, you either had blue as Udyr, or you did nothing.  All junglers were either like that, or recourse independent, like Lee Sin to differ, or Skarner to keep it similar.  Udyr can use turtle to survive in a fight, heal up fatal damage, and shield himself from heavy attack's and finishers. Your mana isn't as important as it should run out less now. His old mana-costs were stupid.

Udyr's heavy consistent mobility provides ways to avoid being kited. Trundle has to time his spells right, Udyr's always at that power, as long as he provides the mana to do so. Udyr split pushing works wonders as he's so quick to join the team fight, escape the gank, or avoid the Skillshots.

Remember, Udyr's Turtle Stance scales with MR/Armor.  The more of those defenses you provide, the more a measly 220 Shield is going to block. and during prolonged fights as long as your mana is up, you'll always have that shield to save you from things like Karthus Ult, or a wild skill-shot that would take you down.

You'll never want to take a level 3 ability. Always get 5-5-4-4.  Your spell ranks are extremely powerful in themselves, leaving one behind leaves you behind in power, the final rank isn't worth removing one of your core skills.  Generally Bear and your secondary Damage spell are left one rank below. Bears last boost isn't as effective as previous ones and once you've got boots, while your secondary damage source is just that, secondary, you'll be relying on the original skill far more early on, and by late you don't need to.  Once Phoenix hits 5 you're at your height of ganking and damage prowess, you'll from then on become more utility-based in your spell choices, because you got the power, now you need to apply it.

As said above, you like how his Kit flows together, and that it does, changing it won't do much but weaken that flow.

And DAMN IT, Udyr originally used his Passive for Movement speed. It provided Dodge percentage and ATS like it does now. That 5% stacking dodge was your resistance!  Along with the defensive mastery that allowed you to gain 12%(I think?) Movement speed when you dodged an attack, you'd intentionally have minions hit you just to dodge and gain that Movement speed and actually gank. Udyr's power relied heavily on that!  They removed dodge and never replaced it back in Season 2, and unknowingly nerfed Jungle Udyr. Shortly after we had champions like Ahri who avoided his ganks anyways, or Shyvana who did what he did without the Mana cost. Then Fizz, Graves...that Mobility Creep came right up at the time he lost part of that Mobility.  So they said screw it,and gave him MR/Armor on the passive, but did that help?  NO!  He still didn't get to people, and he didn't require more tankiness, he already built for it. He was unable to deal damage, build damage, or catch targets. Early Season 3 he was with Shyvana in inability to gank, farm, tank, or fight. The changes they did gave him back that mobility, and toned down his Mana costs just enough to make him a viable power-hitter again.

I'm typing too much...I like Udyr ok? You now have more options than "Zeal or Philo, follow with another Zeal or Philo" as his item choices. He's an expensive jungler who uses all stats decently, can't carry the late game, but his solid-always average mid and late game insures he's able to do things other's just can't when behind or ahead.
