If a person can't relate to the image, wouldn't they also not be able to relate to the title, and not even get far in the article in the first place?

Jax doesn't have antitank moves, nor is he naturally health-stacking. His stun has too long a cooldown, he relies too much on items, and his jump doesn't come up enough. 

He doesn't have shields, he doesn't have spammed engage/disengage. His jump gets to be used for on or the other, unless he maxes it first, then maybe he'll get one of each, and his jump requires a ward or minion or ally to jump to...and no it's not the same as Lee.

Also his mana runs out a lot.

Irelia doesn't have her own built in escape, mobility or shields. Yeah if she gets fed she can hang, but a mediocre Vi gets a spammed refresh shield and a Xin gets a spammed slow/knockup/heal/knockaway/team armor reduction that Irelia does not have. She has tenacity and one cc which is a slow/stun and that's it. Her dash also is only offensive.

You're thinking sustained damage, not drawn out team fights. For Irelia and Jax to work they have to get someone down early. They are good at 1v1 auto-attack wars, not as much in long team fights.

I don't play Irelia much, but that's my theory as to why they aren't great right now. 

I think at high-level play Kog is awesome.

I say good luck getting a team that peels for you in solo queue. Also, yeah, hard lane phase. 

"Go the distance" is an idiomatic English expression that basically means "get the job done" or "do it really well." It also is symbolic of doing something great, such as the phrase evoked "reaching for the stars" or "aiming high", etc. 

So the phrase is trying to be clever--most champs doing well now are good close-range fighters or good at getting out of close range, but Lux is an exception, hence "go the distance from a distance."

Like in Spanish: "Mi Papa El Papa es una papa." My father, the pope, is a potato. I know I missed an accent mark but I don't know how to type it X-D

Those scores are super arbitrary and tongue-in-cheek. I don't see Garen getting picked in LCS or tournaments really.

That said, I believe it's because Elise, Hecarim, Kayle, and Xin are super in-demand / in-vogue right now and Garen doesn't do to well vs. them. Also, he can't peel, and coordinated teams can deal with him much better than solo queue teams can.

Some champions go way up in value in public games compared to coordinated ones, like, say, Teemo or Katarina. I feel Garen is in that category.

Athene's has 5% less CDR and 10 less AP. 

But it has 3 more mp5, the font passive, the kill/assist passive, and the MR. It is much more efficient. 400 More gold for a charm and almost null mantle's worth of MR.
