Did we survive one patch with no Hecarim nerfs? I'm not sure, though. There have been so many consecutive nerfs to my favourite champ I've already lost count. I think someone picked him in the LCS qualifiers once (and lost) and the immediate reaction was to nerf hard as usual.

"Starcraft 1 is another example of a game that was played competitively for a very long time. Now I am sure you want to mention the fact that it got a lot of balance patches, but by the large it was the same game for years and was still competitive."
SC1 stopped getting balance patches very early into the competitive scene, however, the way the game was played was revolutionized many times, often by finding new bugs to abuse. Even in the last moments of competitive SC1, the traditionally very stale, yet volatile, ZvZ matchup was thrown upside down when players figured out it actually is possible to force a long game and go Hive tech.

Yeah, it's like they hate Spirit Stone in general. Riot sees that Spirit Stone items see some marginal play, so what do they do? Nerf it and the champions using it over and over, not to mention the earlier jungle changes that repeatedly shifted health from the small minions to the large ones. Now the jungle is basically Madred's only. GG, whoever at Riot loves jungling with J4 and Win Nao.

Yea, pretty much. You use it as soon as you start taking damage, or in case you're not in danger of dying, to deal damage. That's all there is to it and this CD nerf won't change that one bit. -
