    Yorick,

    Yorick

    and Yorick.

I hate him so much :D

Nunu is rather annoying against him though, eat his ghosts and just ice him back.

He is best against channeling/stationary ult champs and champs with few escapes as his taunt destroys both.  I will normally pick hi if I see a Kat on their team for example because if she jumps in to ult she gets taunted and killed.  The problem is you need to have high damage champs in lane, most burst style, to make up for his lack of any damage and his taunt being single target.

Personally I like a mix when playing late game champs.  Take lifesteal runes to get you to 9% at start and take a Dorans blade to make up for the lack in damage.  I don't invest fully in the Utility tree though, just enough for the 3% lifesteal/spellvamp and then put the remainder into offence.  Really I'm only missing the last 2 points in offence but gaining silly levels of sustain in lane so it works well for me.

Never considered Ryse. I thought he got countered way too hard by ranged APs? Might try him out a little though, he does have a very tanky style of play.  I have amumu but really he is banned every game I play, so is Hecarim lately so I feel there's little point playing them heavily since they jsut get banned.

If you're looking for more farm-heavy, passive lanes then here's what I'd suggest:

Top: Singed. By far and away the best farm-heavy/passive/split pushing top champion you could ask for. Easy to learn, difficult to master. You'll really like him.

Mid: Swain/Karthus. Both very farm-oriented champions. You will find them fairly easy to farm with throughout the game. Swain's attack animation is very fast, burns his opponents down slowly in the lane with DoTs, very passive-bully styled, builds up tanky in late game. Karthus uses red-dot (Lay Waste) to farm from a distance, fairly easy to learn but a good amount of room to really learn more. Also builds tanky.

Jungle: Nasus. He's also very farm-based, extremely easy to gank with, builds tanky, etc. I feel like this is just the best jungler for your style.

ADC/Support: Sounds you've got these two locked in with Tristana/Janna.

Looks like a good list. You're right about the bot lanes, I have got them fairly down pat I think I'll try Cait on a free week just in case but yeah.  I guess I was kinda looking for what else was out there with easy picks but Ez Sona really annoy me so I won't play them personal preference there but you get that.

I was holding off on looking at Nasus simply because he was flavor of the month status and I felt it silly to jump on him before they nurfed him which seems common with FOTM champs.  Since he's gotten a little less FOTM with Voli taking his place it might be worth the look. He's cheap anyway so no real cost wasted.

I actually own Karthus from a bulk champs pack I purchased a while back but have held off playing him as I have an odd dislike for stereotypical 'evil' champs (I know there isn't a true good/evil in LoL but still).  The same reason that I haven't played Singed despite getting him in the same pack.  Might just have to get over it though since I want a solid champ base and oddly the 'good' champs are a little harder to play.  Still Anivia is similar to Karathus, do you think she might suit a similar style? I know her AA is horrible and her skills are slow but still.

Singed... I guess he really is everything that I am looking for in a top with sustain and ignorance to the enemy.  I don't know though, same as before singed as a character is a real prick..I'll play a few games with him since I own him already, who knows maybe his skill set and play-style will win out over the goody-goody nature in me.  It did with Hecarim so...

    top: Kayle

    Mid: Kayle

    Jungle: Kayle

    Support: Kayle

    ADC: Draven

Lol looks interesting.. and I can play Kayle but can't you say the same for Elise? Also, Kayle can play an ADC in a pinch, just have a soroka support or a clarity SS

This. We can probably keep advising the champs that we use, but since we are different persons, what I use may not be what you have fun using. What you like to use? Are you agressive, like to split push, or heavy poke? The more you tell about how you play the better we can advise you.

As noted in the other reply I am a rather passive player, I often focus more on last hitting then poking and I most often like to play defensively.  If I play a high damage champ I do like to split push, I often do such on Udyr and Tristana.  Tried Sivir for this reason but her ult being her damage and her escape makes it hard to run away afterwards unlike Tristana and Udyr who have different abilities for each.

    Good point:

In basic terms I find I'm not that great with reaction time so heavy mechanic champs or high skill champs will best be left out.  I also find I have problems playing assassin style champs for this same reason as I simply underestimate my opponents and get killed to easily.

My style role has always been tanky and failing that high range or great maneuverability to help avoid my 'stupid' moments.  I have found a great enjoyment for disruption which is why I'm finding Janna a fun support as I can knock up and I can knock away while still moving faster then almost any other champ.

This also means champs like Diana are out as I simply can't estimate my abilities well enough yet and don't have the full understanding of all other champs to know my match-ups as well.

Elise...? I have actually looked at for her versatility in many lanes but I wonder if I can pull off her style as it seems more like a burst style play I am very careful in my play-style so often I will avoid an all in unless I'm positive I can win, which is rare.

Someone who can farm well is also useful as it allows me to make up for bad play by out farming the opponent into late game and coming back that way (exactly why I like Tristana presently).  I often find I do far better in late game then early and generally can help turn a game around given enough time.

Support - Sona (you don't need anything more)
Mid - Ahri (you can take whatever you want though)
ADC - Caitlyn (AA when enemy goes for CS GG)
Top - Renekton (lane bully, tanky, fast push and easy)
Jungle - Hecarim (carry jungle with strong teamfights)

Also, if you can play bot lane and jungle, you shouldn't have any problem in champion select. There is always someone who wants top/mid, leaving you those 3.

Hmm.. I find i don't like sona for some reason.. maybe its the super squishy if caught problem.  I do play ahri mid a lot so I might focus on her for mid.  Hecarim I have a fair skill with but with the rise of control junglers like udyr and voli I find myself counter jungled way too much and cant really contribute till late game.  Renekton.. never played him.. would be worth trying on a free week to see how I like his design.  Caitlyn..  great laning phase but not as good late game, I'll try her on free weeks as well though to see how she is.

I know there is always someone wanting top mid but so do I on occasion.. or at least mid anyway...

    Hi all,

I'm looking to try to build a solid skill on a single champ for each role.  I don't play a lot of LoL and I'm not into the ranked play much but I want to be able to join a game in any position and do well.

As such I want to have a single champ to practice for each role.  I believe Janna is a great support and I'm thinking her for the support role, same with Tristana for ADC.  What are your suggestions of other roles?  I enjoy Udry in jungle but he is situation to a degree. As for mid I'm okay with Lux, Ziggs and Ahri but I'm not sure I feel that great on any of them.  Top lane I'm totally lost because I almost never play it.

Basically I'm looking for champs that are decent all round, so a few soft counters are fine but hard counters would make them not viable for what I'm wanting.

    So suggestions? ideas?

    EDIT: added as per suggestions
