  • posted a message on Lucian and other ADCs

I have been playing a ton of Varus lately (due to the fact I don't own Lucian and suck on like everyother ADC) and have been finding that he is really strong right now. I have had my supports be AFK for the first 5 minutes of a game, still been able to farm well with his Q, poked them down, and won in a 1v2 scenario (some of them was after I had bought a number of items, some of them before hand).

Really after the changes to the mastery tree, offense in particular, hybrid champions have become stronger if they go for at least 19 in offense with 3 points in Devistating Strikes.

What this entire thing is trying to address is what happens when you get a player who has never played the match up before, trying a new champion, or just playing on tilt. Trying to set restrictions can work, but only under the assumption that they actually play against people who have the same mindset as them at the time. If they go into a normal game, they won't learn anything unless they are playing with a player who is trying to teach them (which is why I think there should be some sort of coaching mode in league). If we were to go look at someones play we could immedietly say that "o they should have done x instead of y" when we can be making the same mistakes without knowing it. Something I always hear/say is that you learn (I'll be it very slowly sometimes) that some habit or action that you make will have negative outcomes no matter when you do it. For example, if a low level player does not buy wards and gets ganked, try to get them wondering why they got ganked and what they can do to prevent it. You would also have to make this consistent until they do it automatically. I do have experience with this as I tryed (and failed/rage quit at) teaching a new player what they can do to try and put themselves ahead in the game. Another problem, is that at low levels, they aren't used to seeing a jungler or support so they tend to think the roles are dumb and worthless as new ones tend to have no idea what they are doing. As it has been pointed out, players will only learn by playing against/with people in the same mindset as them. This is completmented with experimenting with items to see what does and doesn't work.

I really hate how many words I had to use to write this so sorry bout that length. =P

It makes zero sense but it comes along with the overall meta that your playing in. For Trick, most of the enemies are squishyer and take less damage. At lower levels you will find most players playing tankier characters (at least this has been my experience).

Just noticed that I neglected to mention that I use a 21-9-0 mastery set up (its on my LoLking record; its called Jungle Tiger Udyr page 11). Sorry bout that but hope this helps a bit.

What I do on jungle Udyr is buy a dorans blade first and then go to blue buff (starting tiger of course). Then as soon as you get blue level up turtle and run over to his red. Then just wait for him to come to tkae it and either out smite him or try to kill him as he takes it. Or if hes too slow, just take it (pull it out of vision range) and then wait for him to check it. From there stomp on the jungler and kill everyone on their team.

A great person to watch to learn how to jungle like a boss (and major troll) just watch Trick2g's stream on twitch. He streams quite often and can find videos of it on youtube.

When I was in Bronze (cause I sucked at this game) it was called Gragas' Dervish... Look it up if you don't know what it means but I promise you will laugh....

Something I just learned/experienced: if you have 2 tears in your inventory, they share stacks. However once one of them gets turned into a Seriphs Embrace or Muramana (I only experienced it with Seriphs Embrace) but the other tear loses all its stacks. So theoretically if you were to have both tears  and buy a Manamune and Archangles Staff at the same time you could get both of them upgraded in reasonable time, at the same time. Just a theory though.

This build is certainly something tha is quite differnt from what most would expect. My only problem is that the ramp up time is so big on this build that if your team falls too far behind early, you could just straight up lose the game. Tri force and Gunblade aleardy take forever to get without just straight up buying them because we would have to assume that you will likly have some potions and wards in your inventory along with the unupgraded parts.

  • posted a message on I need help against Nasus.

This is just my option, but Renekton is a hard counter to him. Every time I have played the lane as Renekton, I have bullied him out at lv 2 and then just gotten such a lead that even when the jungler tries to come and do something he can't. Thought it is worth noting that I am silver and may not be playing against good Nasus players, I still think that the little brother totally stomps him. The only thing is that you have to apply a ton of pressure and hope that your team can do the same. You also can't stop pushing the lane after the first tower, other wise Nasus can get enough farm to make it back into the game. The best way to play the match up would be to roam every now and then after the minions are pushed to turret or just stay in lane try to draw jungle pressure off the rest of your team.

  • posted a message on Coaching Mode

So, I got to thinking one day after I got off skype with a low level friend. What if League had some sort of coaching system where they could watch the 'students' view only. This would allow for more experienced players to teach their friends how to play the game without putting them against high elo players. I know that TF2 (Team Fortress 2) has a coaching system and something like this could help balance out the player distribution in ranked (less players in Bronze and more in Silver).

To go more in-depth, the spectator delay would be removed but the fog of war of would only reveal the team with the player that the coach is coaching. It would of course tell them all the standard in-game info, along with the teams total gold. It could also show how much gold each player has gotten over the course of the game.

Just a crazy idea. Hate it if you will. I just wanted to get this out there before I forgot about it completely.

  • posted a message on Bruiser Quinn

I played against a Quinn top and it was harsh. I was Rengar and gave up first blood to her along with 7 more kills because she would simply kill me in 2 autoattacks. My team then went on to yell at me for feeding (when my mid Cho had given up kills to a Teemo). She then proceded to use this exact build and my team couldn't do anything to stop her.

I have to say she is strong but not in the way that most players would view her as she needs to be played top/mid rather than ADC due to how her ult works. Also when they play her ADC they build her glass-cannon which renders her ult useless as she can't use it till they are low or she just gets CCed and dies. I really want to try out the build but I don't want use IP due to her cost and I would probably suck at playing as her.
