He said new BotRK outclasses the BT, not IE. IE vs BT is a whole different debate.

And to answer your question: BT gives you a faster power spike and it's really good on AD-s with good AD scaling skills, like Graves. Ofc when Ashes or Caitlyns (God forbid, Tristanas) rush BT I want to kill myself, but I guess it's all about preference (maybe they want to do all the magic in early mid-game) and/or team comps (maybe they feel that the extra life-steal is crucial and willing to sacrifice damage for it).

Then I misunderstood, sorry. Nonetheless, it's not the change Janna needs, and it's still bad. They wouldn't pick up her again just because half of the AD bonus remains (though it would be a bit op early game), and this change wouldn't make Janna players feel "oh yes, I'm enjoying her so much more now!".

Janna is still one of the best supports, so saying that she's outcalssed in every way is LOL. There are many things no one does better than her, and her late-game is just godlike. She's somewhat like Alistar. No one plays Alistar: "o-m-g, he's bad now, you know, the rise of the poke supports made him subpar" blahblah, Patoy picked him up, and now everyone picks him or even bans him. And it's not because the +5 mov speed or the +50 range on his Headbutt.

Now Riot reduced Monsoon's mana cost, and if they revert the W or the Q change, pros will pick her much more willingly, and not because she will be "viable again", she's always been viable. But that's how the pro scene works (at least in NA). Right now NA teams pick Taric almost all the time (at least the baddies, like Xpecial), even for Kog'Maws, rofl. It's true Taric is awesome with many ADs and in many team comps, but he's not a Sona, whom you can pick basically every time and won't be useless. It's just that Taric is hot right now and there are too many sheeps.

As a Janna player (she's also my favourite) I would kill myself if this would happen. Her AD buff is insaneeeeeely good and I would never ever change it to a weaker one even if it would stay after the shield is popped. The shield would not only be completely useless mid/late-game but even during the laning phase, if it would be halved. Right now a lvl 3-5 Janna shield can destroy people if the AD and the Janna plays it right, and  even the lvl 1-2 is extremeeeely effective in the very early trades, which you can not afford to lose (especially if your AD started with Dorans). Right now Eye of the Storm is not that easy to utilize but hiiiighly rewarding, but it would be complete garbage in every aspect if it were halved. It would also took away some skill.requirements from Janna players, because it would almost degrade your early-game to Soraka level. Right now, there's a big difference between a good and a bad Janna (talking about early game, it's obvious that after lvl 6 Janna just becomes one of the hardest champs to play perfectly), while there's not much difference between a good and a bad Soraka. "Here's your heal, be happy!" - you can't do that with a Janna, and I hope you won't be able too as well.

Also, right now Eye of the storm has super scaling. Imagine that +50 attack on a carry that has BT, PD, LW and maybe even an Infinity. If you can keep that shield on him/her for at least 3-4 shots, that's just devastating, and I won't even mention what happens if they can't pop that shield. I'm not saying it's easy (some times just straight out impossible), but it can be very benefical. Now, if it were halved, it would nowhere near that effect.

Imo they will revert the slow change on W OR the knockup on Q (not having to charge up cuz Riot maybe realised it's kinda retarded to expect a Janna to completeley foresee the PERFECT howling gale, I mean really, who does that...). Reverting the ult knock-back would be meh, because her ult is already one of the hardest skills to use in the entire game, giving it more knockback-range again would just mess things up (I'm not saying it would be bad though). I highly doubt they will revert the E change because it would be OP, and as I said, it would took skill-requirements from Janna, which would be stupid, because she would be still hard to use, so why make one of her spells completely mindless, while leaving some the others extremely hard to use? But most of all it's just OP, giving a free BF Sword +5 attack to your AD while the opponent can't do anything about it. Just compare it to Lulu's Whimsy: yes, you can't take away the AP buff, but Lulu has to sacrifice Whimsy's other usage, which is most of the time superior anyway.

Tl,dr: They will probably increase the slow duration on W or revert the Howling Gale change, because that was a completely retarded and uncalled-for change back then.

Once I was going to be reported because I didn't have cho'gath. Imagine the shitstorm when Shen is open (I rarely ban him, other champs are much more annoying), I'm first pick, and I have to tell them I don't have him. Oh, the joy...

THEN, and this is the most important concept for ELO hell, there is a range where you are under your ELO, but not significantly enough so that you can carry games (2), and that often times, your consistently slightly better play will be outclassed by other things happening in the game (leavers, feeders, someone carrying you by going 18/1). As such, while you will eventually get to your true ELO, and are actually better than these players, it will take a decently long time of it.

This, so much! That's why I hate duoQ-ing with lower ELO players. I feel like I have to give my 100% every damn time, which is not satisfying at all, rather stressful (at least for me, I guess it vary for others).

There is no such thing as ELO hell

There is, people just misuse the term and think it's a legit excuse.

You might wannt to explain your definition of ELO hell then.

And I'd love to hear why you personally think it exists.

(Note, this is not meant in a negative way, I'd really like to hear your thoughts about it because I don't think there is such a thing like ELO hell.)

Mmmm I wrote it down os many times, I even published an article on my native LoL-site about it...:D But I can try to give you the short version. Basically, around 1100-1300 players are just too mixed skill-wise, and the main reason for that is that everyone starts at 1200. A lot of people do jsut liek I did, start palying ranked as soon as they reach lvl 30. They suck, just as I sucked. Now imagine the players trying to get through 1100-1300 meeting up with ranked-newbies. Also, we can safely say that people around that ELO are just simply not good. Due to the Elo reset I started s3 (or should I say pre-season) at 1400, and it was so annoying to play there after I was at 1600. Do you know why? You get about the same amount of jerks at 1600 as well, but they can actually play. I report them all the same, but if I have to cope with a 1600-1700 asshole, it's all about keeping my calm to the very end, when I can ask 9* on him. In 1400 they are not just assholes, they are pretty bad as well, and you (or someone else in your team) have to play so much better if you want carry him. But 1400 is still fine, the hell is 1100-1300, where luck is a major factor in winning games - also, the games sux there, not much enjoyement. Do you know why I liked when I was 800 ELO and why I put ranked on pause when I couldn't get through 1100-1200? Because at 800 ELO everyone was bad, so if I played good it almost always payed off for me. Around 1200 I got 3 afks in a row (old match-making without confirmation required, so good), wriggle Nautiluses, double mids and etc all the time. It was a pain really, most of the time one of the team just got carried, including myself. After 1200, but mainly 1300, it was much different again. I felt like it actually matters what I'm doing, and it was a nice experience, that my actions can win or (sadly) lose games. So Elo hell is there, but all you need is patience (unless you are MUCH better, because of course a 2k elo player wont get stuck, why would he? he knows the game in and out and have a lot of ranked experience). Yes, luck is much higher there, but if someone genuenly believes he is 100-200 elo better he just got stuck in elo hell, he just lies to himself. Yes, if you play 5 games there is a good chance you are not where you belong, but if you play 200 games, then don't tell me you are actually much better. That's just stupid.

Btw, I take back what I said about the new system. Divison two is actually the second BEST division in a tier, woooot. And I got 22 LP for a win. SICK. (Though reaching platinum will mean less now, but my ego does not care. Ohh, shiny...~~)

    dont play ranked

    start actually genuinely having fun

    stop wasting time

    problems fixed

Personally, I have much more fun in rankeds. It just depends what we mean by fun. If it's "OMG I'M LAUGHING SO HARD" then the way is definetly normals, with annie support, jungle karthus, and picking nasus top againts the most impossible lane just for the lolz. But ranked - no matter how frustrating it is sometimes - is challening. I know I have to do my best and I know my opponents do their best. Victory is sweeter, and I can improve a lot more , which is fun for me, even if occasional trolls make me sad.

The "nasus-hater" guy misses one point: what if you are a badass nasus player? Then don't listen to anyone, just play him, if you are good and confident enough. The thing is, 90% of the people think in stupid counter-lists and fail miserably when they actually encounter a good player. I've seen Nasuses wreck Rumbles, completely dominating from the early game. It's all about the skill. I was queued once with a 2k+ player smurf poppy who devastated a Darius. He was so cocky that when I ganked, he refused to follow-up. He later sold all his AD items and switched to AP, still wrecking faces. My point is, if you are good, then pick that Nasus. Sure, there are no-brainer champs, like Yorick or Taric, but I guess it's a question of preference.

I myself mainly supported myself where I am now, 1619 elo, because I knew I'm good so I didn't really care about the "ohmagaaad, you can't carry with supports, ohmagaaad" bullshit. If you are good with what you are playing, you will rise higher. Also, you only need "hard carry" champs if you are like 500+ ELO higher skill-wise and you need to faceroll everyone.

Btw I'm sad about the new ranked system, because I can't follow my progression as a player. In the last few days I was finally getting back to my S2 peak, and I even topped it, and I could measure where am I now. But with the changes, I'm like division 2. How lame. What if I actually suck hard, lose 100 game in a row? Well, I will get matched with worse players, sure, but I'll still be sitting in Division 2 (or in Gold tier, I can't remember which one you can't fall down from). And what if I'm actually even better and would like to reach Plat? Well, I only need 400 LP, 3 BO3s and 1 BO5. It might require the same amount of wins I needed before (doubt it), yet seems so much more harder to reach. Oh well, I'm sure there are players who, on the other hand, gained some encouragement from these changes to play more, so whatever. I actually really like the play-off idea. In normals you derp around, not caring too much, you are just having fun, testing builds, playing free week champs, or just trolling around. In ranked you turn into all serious mode, play your best champions and try to be less of a douchebag. And now, here's the playoff... .

I can see it before my eyes... The fourth pick guy asks for mid, when the first and the second picks would like to mid as well. They just tell him he's 4th, sorry bro, but then he drops the bomb: "This is a play-off match for me and my main champions are mid laners.". Ooooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhh SNAP. Do they give this guy's fate into his hands, or do they force him to still play something else? Do they try even harder for that guy, or do they troll him because they've just lost their play-off matches?

Btw, how much LP you lose if you fail your play-off games? If it resets to 0 I hang myself.:D
