Played exactly one Zilean game yesterday, so take with a grain of salt.

While I enjoyed the shorter fuse of new bombs for fights (they die earlier), the zone control from bombs felt underwhelming due to the small collision range. I was against Yasuo, so it was incredibly difficult to land bombs in lane; that being said, I can see it being much easier in less mobile matchups (certainly had no trouble landing it on their Sona).

I felt the decrease in power on Q simply because it failed to clear back line for quite a while and therefore hurt my ability to instant double bomb in lane, but I had a fairly low AP build early on (no AP quints on the account I was playing on, and I built RoA since I wanted to try E -> double Q and didn't want to be too squishy for close range); probably wouldn't be a problem with a more normal build. I didn't actually end up using E -> double Q at all; it just didn't feel safe. Similar to Elmanbeastio, I just sped myself up and tried to hit double bombs normally.

QWQ combo doesn't work until level 3 Q or 10% CDR and level 2 Q.

E felt weaker than before, but not bad (especially for speedup). Range decrease is significant.

Didn't really notice the ult changes; my target had plenty of time to die/get away in 5 seconds, and the CD was still short enough in my game.

Mana costs are noticeably lower. I think I only ran out of mana once with a build of Ring+Roa+Morello for mana.

Overall Zilean feels similar but has more reliance on CC from his teammates to consistently hit double Qs outside of teamfights. If they increased collision radius of Q slightly, it would feel much better.

Not really in meta, but Cho'gath has a strong laning phase, is a strong teamfighter (provides lots of AoE CC and burst), and doesn't fall off that hard. The better you do, the more AP you can build to snowball and remain relevant damage-wise later on.

Can't seem to find a definitive answer to this and can't play league atm; can you get a double bomb off by hitting two ground-targeted bombs in the same spot? i.e. no unit gets hit by either.

I'm kinda disappointed with the creativity involved with Bard. Only his passives are truly unique. Q is Windrunner's (DoTA) Q with a slow if it misses instead of a reduced stun, W looks like Zaku's (Strife) Mending Pods without the mana restore, E is a Janus (Smite) portal that is multi-use and can be used by enemies. The ult can easily be compared to Zeratul's (HoTS) ult, just with a shorter duration and doesn't leave a persistent stasis field. Normally I'm fine with mobas taking skills from other mobas. There's only so much a developer can do to prevent an ability from looking to similar to another mobas' ability, and it's usually just 1 or 2 "stolen" abilities/mechanics that comes with a completely unique kit. I don't know, it's definitely unique to LoL. It just seems like Riot put having a cool kit above being innovative.

Is that really a bad thing, though? You mentioned that it's unique to League, which I interpret to mean that this kit is unique in the confines of League. To me, that's perfectly fine - if it fleshes out a playstyle that is missing from the game and is fun, then why not?

That being said, Riot's definitely getting braver about mechanics that could potentially mess with your teammates (Kalista and Bard are both champions that can do that). Not necessarily a bad thing, just an observation.

He'll probably mostly roam around bot jungle/mid mostly because I don't foresee the health packs being enough to enable a 1v2 for long. Also, stasis time is loooong. If you can land that on one opponent in botlane, you'll have plenty of time to 2v1 kill the other fairly risk-free (especially if you land it on their minion wave). Also probably one of the safest diving supports.

Balance isn't set in stone after a single set of changes. Yes, this hurts Kassadin (in a way that is deserved), but he'll likely be compensated in other areas. Third post in this thread mentioned this as well.

As for the oxygen tubes, maybe they got fused to him when he was infected (assuming he actually had oxygen tanks in the first place).

I'd honestly pick Vlad into nothing but if you really like him I'd pick him against ranged and the worst melee characters. Jax can be pretty much picked always IMO but I guess characters like rock jesus or susan can make him worthless.

Completely off topic but who's Susan?

     Reverse the name.

1.Mono Colour i would just go Blue. All the best OU pokemon are Blue ;) (Keldeo, Latios,Mega Zard X. Metagross, Azumarill etc)

It'd go by Pokedex color, so Megazard X is actually red. That being said, it can be tweaked; two-color teams, for example (3 of one, 3 of another).

    2. Monotype is a muck around tier already and its basically just dragon Spam.

Oh, I don't know about that. From my experience, Dragon rarely comes out on top. Point taken, though.

3.Mono region i think would be a great idea but would it be based off of the regional pokedex or pokemon introduced to that region?

It'd be Pokemon introduced in that region. (nationaldex number)

4.No entry hazards is a bit eh. The only thing it really changes is no stealth rock because sticky web and spikes are extremely rare.

Normally, SR warps the meta so heavily that this simple change alters threats significantly. You also don't need to run a spinner/defogger, which normally limits teams with SR weak pokemon. I wouldn't say that's a small change.

    5.No STAB is eh.

     Agreed; just listing off ideas.

6.Base Stat limitation im 50/50 on. Azumarill,Clefable,Gengar,Mega Beedril,Ferrothorn + 1 would be an extremely powerful team in this. Those pokemon are all top tier OU and are one of the few decent 500 or below BST pokemon.

Limitations like this don't have to have a massive effect to be interesting. It still changes what's available, which can make things more interesting. If 500 is still too high, the number can be adjusted until you have to use weird Pokes. It is fairly arbitrary and I'm not sold on the idea myself, but just saying.

7.Featured pokemon would be a good idea though depending on the mon would limit teambuilding sustantially. If the pokemon is something like Scizor or talonflame its easy to throw them on anything but if its something like Tyranitar  or sableye it limits teambuilding by a fair bit.Whilst both Pokemon can be used in either normal or mega form they fairly hard to throw on most teams.

It could also be an out-of-tier Pokemon. For example, in a UU tournament it's possible to have Mew as a featured pokemon. If feeling particularly ambitious, even an Uber is possible. The reverse is also possible; an OU tourney might feature a niche RU or NU poke.

Tyranitar means no weather teams bar sand as either you run sand stream and lose the rain/sun/hail you set up or you run unnerve and have a useless ability whilst sableye means you have to prepare to either use stall or vs stall in every team. would make a fairy type, a taunt user and some form of haard setter/remover mandatory on every team.

    8. No clause is a definite no. Being able to run OHKO moves is bad enough but having the possibility of multiple pokemon on your team being asleep at the same time is extremely annoying.

Didn't really think this through when I suggested it; as I said to DarkFoxes, the main one I was considering was species clause.

These are just suggestions to get people thinking; if you understand what I'm getting at when I say a tournament theme, I think I've done my job. I think Type Ban can be interesting to terrible depending on the type (you really don't want to ban things like Fighting or else Chansey and Ttar become monsters). Old Gen metagames is also an option.

That's what makes it interesting. Also, it's just one of many possibilities. The main clause that I think would be interesting to disable would be species clause, if the others would be worrying.

Will there be another Pokemon tournament soon? I have some new cheese I need victims players to try out on

If we do can we just do it based on a tier instead of those weird 2 from each tier rules. So much easier to teambuild, Was starting to learn Rain teams at the time and substituted half the team because i had too many OU's

Yeah, it was fairly difficult to teambuild when the pool of required Pokemon effectively spanned all tiers under Ubers. It did add a creative theme to the tourney, though, which is something I enjoyed. Maybe we could have a different theme to have a tourney around, if not a normal one-tier-and-below thing? For example:

    • mono-colour (saw this idea somewhere lol)
    • monotype
    • mono-region
    • no entry hazards (focus sash is banned)
    • no-STAB (might just degrade into stall though)
    • base stat total limitation (e.g. 500 and below)
    • featured pokemon (all teams must use that pokemon)
    • no clauses (no sleep clauses, no species clause, etc.)

    and etc.
