I played several games of dota and dota fights were incomprehensible, clunky, and dull. Most fights ended in a split second, never in a true fight, usually one ability going off and destroying the other team or player. There is never any kiting, disengaging, movement, thought, its just press your button before you die, and hope yours does more damage than theirs.
League fights can last for minutes sometime if its close enough and neither team can properly initiate, especially when competing over objectives which at least at the skill level of dota I played at, no one seemed interested in. Dota seemed more about getting a kill, snowballing, and then winning. League has a higher emphasis on objective control and CSing to beat your opponent than just blindly beating them in teamfights.
I play Rubick a lot, which is a hero that can steal an enemy's last cast spell (only actives) and the kind of clutch teamfight steals can result in such satisfying play because you pre-empted, you positioned and you changed the course of the teamfight on the spur of the moment.
Lies. Most Rubicks just end up Chronosphere'ing their own team.
