  • posted a message on What It Means for a Champion to be "Toxic"

I'm pretty sure he's labeled Shaco as toxic before too. It's really a shame because his kit is so damn fun to play. I love the idea behind a champion that has little numerical power, but a ton of tools in his kit to trick and misdirect his opponents.

Here's hoping he has a rework coming!

Nice Riot :) Gotta upgrade Karma's cup size. I guess fighting with all the other girls in the league for so long has made her self conscious.

Honestly, while mummy takes less damage than her from the jungle, he also doesn't gank as well. Q is able to go through minions, e is a devestating slow. Passive Plus Red buff back to the tower, ult from point blank after they flash to their tower (e might even be back up) It's more reliable than toss is, and r is quite a bit stronger than mummys curse. (especially after his nerfs) Her damage doesn't rely on taking hits from minions in team fights, and IMO does comparable to superior damage to mummy when built with zero ap items.

I counter her early issues by using lifesteal quints and AS reds. It's not really intuitive, but it helps more than you might think.

I wouldn't go so far as to call her better than mummy or malph, but she's not as far off as people seem to think. Her ult really is a game changer. (For those who don't know, you can follow the stun up with permafrost, which is what makes is so truly disgusting.) Her q also gives her significantly better disengage than mummy or malph.

  • posted a message on Anyone else notice Bruisers have taken over from ADCs in all looking very same-y?

Do you think riot should rebuff some more the hybridy bruiser items like Atmas and HD?

What about the hyper op BOTRK? Wasn't that item made hella -op for exactly this reason? You don't think LW is a viable option on some of the more mega AD bruiser like Garen? (Who gets a ton of free defense and sustain)

Why not pick Garen more? Why not pick Singed more? It seems to me like your top lane champion pool was a little shallow coming into S3, and some champions that got hella buffed for s3 still aren't being played. Why is Garen such a well kept secret?

Hurm, Shyvanna is running towards me... what on earth do I do?

    O right, just run away.

She can't win duels because she can't *force* duels, and that's that. Sure, she is pretty damn good once she gets a mallet and is post level 6, but at that point you've been running circles around her all game. Shyv is only a problem when she gets support from people with better CC or when idiots feed the fuck out of her.

  • posted a message on Tips on carry type junglers and how to improve

I think the spirit of the post went over your head. The game simply isn't likely to last long enough for the carry to be relevant without the jungler making the early/midgame plays. At 40 mins, it's typically your jungler who is either handing you the game on a silver platter or dumping a hot mess onto your lap. Hell, if the jungler is owning enough the game could end before the adc ever leaves bot lane.

I always hated the uber passive s2 farm or support junglers. Shyv is only relevant if the rest of the team is enabling her (so basically, not solo que) To succeed in solo you need to be a playmaker. You need to swing every fight into your teams favor, and to do that you need to be able to start fights at the right place at the right time and have complete control of them. Who's great for this? Mummy, Hec, Jarvan, Sejuani, Riven. Maybe a very pro Xin. (Seriously, KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING before you ever pick Xin or WW) I massively prefer mobile champs with a lot of map control to the more passive farmers or lane campers. Kha is an excellent pick (until he gets nerfed into the ground at least) if you can ever grab him in time.

And yeah, Sej is massively underrated in S3. Play her now before she gets some minor buffs and becomes FOTM.

You really don't think there are exceptions? Isn't Prioritizing Vamp on the manaless guys still a great call? (Double Wota with Double AP?)

With TF, my usual first item is Sheen, and I prioritize Lich Bane. (IMO, it's his core item) If I can make it back to base with 1600, after sheen, obviously get the rod. If you cant you are gonna have to build compromise items. (like revolver or Guise, which can get you back into the game mid game.)

I actually kind of like Clarity on Kass, since mid-game on it's basically the same as having flash. It also lets you stack riftwalk up a bit more and get some extra damage.

But yeah, I realize it's kind of gimmicky. I also like rageblade on TF, or  maybe jungle Cho/Taric. (but that's basically it)

    Will it get Sheen/Tf procs?

We might see the return of MBR builds too. This will be really rape on Kogmaw.

  • posted a message on Old Man Eyebrows' Tidbits I: XP Gain + Skarner vs. Hecarim

I feel like there are aspects of jungling you aren't taking into acount. There is a lot more to it than raw clear speed. Dont get me wrong, I think both these champs are fantastic, but I think hec has a few more subtle advantages over skarn in the jungle.

    1) Not blue dependent. Dont get me wrong, Hec loves blue buff. But more for the cdr than the regen. Rampage's mana cost is much more managable than Skarn's q. He can easily get by without blue once he has philo, and I usually have no problem recovering if I get prevented from taking blue early.

    2) Ganks. Obviously, nothing hec has can top a gank with skarns ult. However, that's assuming skarn can get close enough to use it, which isn't a given when ganking bot lane or a cc heavy mid. (like morg or veigar) Hec can gank much more often and much more effectively even without his ult. It is extremely easy for hec to get onto the focus target and smash them. If Skarner makes it to melee, hes gonna wreck, but he has a lot more problems than hec making it there.

    3) Counterpicking. I frankly don't think he has any real counterplay right now. That's why he is such a strong pick, especially early. There isn't a team comp that hec cant find a way to win against. His W is fire and forget, so he has little problem eating cc really, unless the fight moves away from him. In which case re-engage with any number of his tools. Champs with strong disengage/reengage are *always* strong picks, especially in solo.
