You want Janna on every version of this team. Global MS boost for everyone, tons of disengage tools to combat people who try to force your team into a fight.

It's irritating to run into a team that pulls this off successfully. They just play keep-away until they farm their late-bloomers into carry status.

    This.

  • posted a message on Sightstone Nerf, but better for supports?

Since I play support and jungler pretty often, I can easily say I agree with you analysis: getting SS will cost around [250 + (75*2)] more gold for a support, but overall now the item progression is better (read: safer).

On the other hand the change will harm a bit those utility junglers who used to rush Sight Stone after Madred's/Spirit Stone and Boots of Speed (Maokai, Amumu, Jarvan, Lee Sin, Nautilus, Mundo, etc), just because -in terms of map control- rushing it was just OP and very flexibly used to invade the enemy jungle, protect one's own jungle, ward top and mid against enemy jungler ganks; the utility it proved all game long for 700 gold was just brutal.

Anyway Spirit Stone has been nerfed simply because in term of gold efficiency it was OP (gosh, even killing the SS wards pre-patch gave you back only 10 gold... getting a bit of gold back from getting Oracle was just borderline impossible), and a price change was needed. Good for us that at least the recipe got improved as a result of the nerf.

  • posted a message on Randuin's Omen on ADCs - Useful or a waste of the active?

Against heavy AD teams it's not a bad idea, even though you're just gonna make use of the Active against AD casters (which don't AA that much). Anyway, if your jungler or support gets Bulwark , getting Randuin's may not be a bad idea, but only against certain team comps.

I like to go tanky on Jax, full dmg with one GA doesnt work very well for me. My favourite build contains Ninja Tabi + Alacrity, Hextech Gunblade, Iceborn Gauntlet, Warmogs, Banshees Veil, Zephyr in this order. This is not super effective but a build that fits my playstyle and one which i feel confident with.

You're gonna miss a reliable slow until IG is completed. It's a solid build, but I'm not sure about the effectiveness of the item progression. Also, no matter the 400 HP, I would get Scimitar -or Spirit Visage- over BV any day on Jax. All in all there are many items that grant tankiness to Jax, Warmog's + GA + Trinity/Frozen Mallet is a decent chunk of HP, otherwise you can always add stuff like Randuin's/FH, Spirit Visage, etc...

  • posted a message on Tank/initiator Jungler ?

    Quote from EYEtriforc3 »

    Hey guys

Im very satisfied with my champ pool for season3 ladderclimbing...the only thing im not satisfied with is this.

When i have to jungle in SoloQ ranked i jungle nocturne and xinzhao and i find myself carrying often. Problem is that sometimes the team needs a better tank

/ initiator. I love Amumu and shen for this but they are perma banned and i hate playing maokai since he is so teamdependent since he does zero damage, i also dont like Mundo since his ganks are super meh.

So help me find my last champion, a strong soloQ tank initiator jungler that isnt amumu shen drmundo malphite maokai or chogath

    Help gladly appriciated

    Warning: dunks, requires manliness.

Pure gold J_IV jungle guides: 1, 2. Good guide: 3.

I would never trade my Gunblade with BotRK. Nevaaaah.

Well, Gunblade offers thousand stats that are super-valuable to Jax (same for Trinity, Zephyr, Rageblade) but against heavy-HP staking teams (with low armor values) BotRK is better (and cheaper). All in all it comes down to the enemy team comp.

  • posted a message on [Annie] - Which play style do you prefer?

    Quote from Deathist»

You forgot one other way = AD Annie.

Huge AA range, shield that reflects AA damage, and hard non ult cc.
Only problem is lack of AD scaling spells and really squishy.

From a stupid thread about forcefully hipster builds:

    Quote from exacerberus»

Ashe has a long range AoE ability that scales off AS (Volley), how many does Veigar have? Ashe has 600 range, how much does Veigar has? (answer is 525) If you really wanna be an anti-meta hipster, please understand that some alternative ideas work, but some have no basis whatsoever to be effective vs brained people. Btw, Annie has 625 range, a better AA animation and still grants AoE stun, why not taking her over Veigar?

Rule of thumb: if an idea sounds stupid and people call it stupid, generally it's just as stupid as it looks like at first glance.

In short: yes, she has 625 AA range, AoE stun potential, free resistances with E, but no dashes and no AD scaling abilities. Sure AD Annie can work, but it's still rather sub-optimal. Any non AP build for Annie build is kinda trollish (support Annie is situationally acceptable though).

    Quote from bichiotero »

Well Annie can support too. And don't tell anyone... but she can jungle too ^^

Everyone already knows that, even though she's an average (yet not bad) support and -at best- a mediocre jungler.

    But don't tell that anyone...

  • posted a message on Starting Items on Diana and Katarina?

Boots of Speed + 3 HP pots or 2 Sight Wards + HP pots are both acceptable starting items for Kata. I'd stick with boots on her, even with S3 base MS changes, because she's melee and this helps both kiting and lasthitting. The less harassment you take, the less pots you need.

If you always sell Faerie Charm on Diana, just get Flask + 1 Ward + 1 HP pot; otherwise keep using Faerie charm + 2 Sight Wards + HP pots.
