Regarding Yi's W, its definitely a huge nerf. What made it strong is that you could Alpha Strike and the when they targeted you, tap W and it was K. 5 Seconds of constant heal with 300 AR/MR was enough to keep you save for long enough for your next Alpha Strike to come up. Changing that to a 3 second heal won't give him that opportunity.
I have over 600 dominion games and I can agree the above is true. Dominion teaches you a lot of teamfighting and build choices and is a fast paced game that can only improve what you do in SR. There are some champions that are generally a "no no" in dom but usually a good comp can have almost anything and be decent. Items are easier to obtain and choices of when to engage and when to forfeit a point are all over the place. This small things can teach you so much about engaging on SR deciding when to dive and how to build in match-ups that are in or against your favor. Dominion is such an interesting game.
Most ppl think only noobs play Dominion and that is not true at all. I personally take my Dominion games very serious and even achieved 1800 Dominion ELO. I'm also a plat player in soloQ and in 3's so I highly discourage that belief that if you play something besides SR you are a noob.
LoL has so much fanservice and Arhi is the best proof of that.

I will agree that if you are better your elo wont shoot up because there is no humane way one person can carry a team if another person feeds harder. Lack of skill is more determining factor then total skill as lack of skill puts you in denial and you consistently throw that game. But there is no way someone can be judged on ELO when you are under Diamond or so because there are so many bullshit factors in games I honestly think its luck where you just get 10-15 standard games in a row and you just shoot out of ELO hell or you do the sturdy slow gain method and hope there isnt any bullshit to knock you back down. You yourself just got 8 fluke games where people didnt throw it hard and you got to move up. No matter how polite, encouraging and friendly you can be, some men just want to watch the world burn...

Rant over, ELO TIP: Ward. I seriously think every player on the map, Bar the AD, Should have 1 ward consistently placed down on the map 24/7 except for in special circumstances or later in the game where your maxed and the support should be warding. If you are the support, you can carry the game, just ward for idoits who refuse to ward and you will realise that with the knowledge and map control your team can over push and win.
Main problem here is that most ppl play ranked just to play... To actually play ranked you have to be mentally prepared. There are times when all 5 players in any of my arranged 5's teams are on but for some reason I don't feel like playing cuz I lack motivation at that time or simply im not feeling into it. Most ppl will just play to play and not actually try, if I know I'm not gonna try hard I won't play cuz I know I'll play poorly. This exponentially grows when you are on a losing streak. If you are constantly losing and have lost around 5 games in a row you lack momentum and will, since you are so demotivated you will not even try any more(most ppl rage at this point) If we are losing constantly I'll just tell my team to take a break for a while, an hour or so even more depending on their lack of motivation.
One more thing that I find important is that most ppl mention something along the lines of "I always win my lane and everyone feeds" if you're level of understanding of this game is good enought you will find a way to help your team. I mainly play AD and Jungle and even as AD I STOP farming to go help mid, help my jungler gank and do other stuff. Problem is taht most ppl think their lane is all that matters. Some games your team will be good and you won't have to babysit them, but on the games they are doing poorly you have to help too. missing 2 waves of CS is around 240-250 gold and a kill is worth 300+assists for the players involved. So if you can take the time and assist a gank, DO IT!
once again, this is a TEAM GAME, your individual skill can only take you so far.

Tha is true, I carried all games and even 4v5's as you said.
Regarding relative skill levels if you are playing with ppl with the same skill level then I really think taht is your bracket, or am I wrong? When you meet ppl doing the smae stuff you do and outplaying the same way you do consistently, is taht not where you belong then? with ppl of the same level?
I saw a post saying something like "elo hell being the limit of your skills in ladder climbing" meaning that when you stop climbing and you can't go any further that is where you belong and you won't move only in 100 points up or down. A friend of mine is 1700 elo, he climbed to 1780 then back down to 1600 and he is usually between that range of 1700 +-100.
after catching up on this thread, my opinion is the same. People think they deserve a higher elo that what they are at. I don't play much ranked soloQ since I play mostly arranged 5's but I can tell you this much. If you are good you will climb. I was 1700 made a smurf and climbed to gold again...
I saw an interesting post above saying that if you don't use your first 10 placement games you are stuck in elo hell(not sure what elo range this is thou, i'll go 900-1300) you are stuck in elo hell. I lost my placement games cuz I made my smurf to play with my friends ranked games and they are bad. Yet, when s2 rewards where announced I decided I wanted free skin and icons and climbed up the ladder solo. Your argument is invalid.
