With exception to remakes, syndra, and diana, it is really hard to find patches where they did more to an ability than just +/- 5 damage per rank.

Sightstone is incredibly strong. It truly allows supports to spend money on items. I use it for most of my jungle warding and a few pinks for dragon / baron. The shard of true ice is amazing as well. I get a fully built item and a gp10? The eleisa's miracle has actually been underwhelming. The new archangel's is much much better. It charges so much faster now. Also the shield active is very strong. I'm not entirely sold on Liandry's, even on Anivia. It needs to at least wait until after deathcap. Considering that my standard build remains Athene's, RoA, Deathcap, my core is like 1.2k cheaper so that's not too bad.

The difference between syndra and karthus Q is spammability. Lay waste has a 1 sec cooldown. Sphere has a 4 sec cooldown. Lay waste costs 20-44 mana. Sphere costs 40-80 mana. Karthus also has mana sustain. Karthus is focused on sustained dps. Syndra is about burst. Missing a lay waste with Karthus, while bad form, is not very detrimental. Missing a sphere means that your threat is diminished and invites an opportunity for a response. Otherwise, they are about equally difficult shots to land (that I can't seem to get the hang of).

We could use more items of this and that. Take abyssal it is the big AP & MR item. BT is the AD & lifesteal. GA is the armor and MR item. Just have more mix and match stats.

A good example is if anyone has ever played Nasus for even one game. You can tell that Nasus is very different because of how he speaks. He talks like a smart guy.

I think an important part of it is that it is a team game. Look at the biggest sports: football, soccer, basketball, baseball. They're all team sports. Golf and tennis are boring. The lack of team dynamics and drama are what separate the the popular sports from the secondary sports. Starcraft isn't a team game. Sure you can do like a 4v4, but that isn't professional play. Professional play is 1v1. Professional LoL is 5v5. Lots of interesting dynamic there.

So someone just now realized that all the masteries are actually worthless? What else is an AP going to spend their mastery points on? There's veteran scars in the defense tree for an amazing 30 HP. Or indominable for an amazing damage reduction of 2 points. I mean Blast is pretty damn terrible as it only gives 18 AP by level 18 and the AP quints only give 15. 15 AP only gives like 12 more damage on your abilities if you scale well. So AP quints are terribad. Flat MR glyphs? They only come out to half a null magic mantle. At least the AP quints got me 3/4 of a crap item. Who would even use those crap runes? Honestly, runes and masteries aren't even worth it. Might as well just run empty since they're never going to make a difference anyways. /sarcasm.

Your math is bad and you should feel bad.
1 point of armor means that they will have to deal 1% more physical damage to kill you. 2 points of armor means that they will have to deal 2% more physical damage to kill you. 100 points of armor means that they will have to deal 100% more physical damage to kill you. That's linear. You have to look at the physical processes. In order to maximize your ability to survive attacks, you need to maximize the amount of damage that is necessary to kill you. Armor does that (w.r.t. physical damage) with completely linear returns. -

posted a message on Mid Lane: how do YOU lane against Diana?Posted in: Summoner's Rift
I'm gonna second the fact that Morde just beats diana. Morde can just about simply eat her harassing Q's and still beat her. It is a rather hard counter. Then since you're Morde you become an indestructible ball of doom.
Aside from beating her with Morde, dodging her Q is extremely important. I know from experience playing Anivia that if you're playing a squishy and she lands her Q, you're probably dead. In general, stay away from your creeps. It isn't too hard to dodge it if you're expecting it because it's rather telegraphed. You need to know when she's positioning to Q you and focus on dodging that for a few seconds. If you're away from your creeps, she has to choose between harassing and farming because she's melee. If she misses her Q, you have absolute command of the lane for a few seconds. So in many ways laning against her is similar to a pre-6 Anivia, except it doesn't change really at level 6. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.
