Interesting, Malady is being removed and having its passives split into Nashor's Tooth and Wit's End.

I just bought Hecarim in the sale too. Can someone please tell me why SofEL is a good buy on him?

Spirit of the Elder Lizard provides the regen from Spirit Stone and some extra damage for jungling. The bonus AD is also nice because your Q is super spammable and has a 0.6 bonus AD ratio which is pretty good for a spell that can potentially have a 1.2 second cooldown (assuming that you have two Rampage stacks to reduce the base cooldown to 2 seconds, and have 40% CDR). Did I mention CDR is strong on Hecarim? Makes your Q more spammable, and reduces the downtime on W and E which are both great spells. Lastly, the true damage burn can be constantly reapplied by Q. And surprisingly, W also triggers the true damage

Still, 50% of games will always be losses, but that doesn't mean it can't be a good game if everyone did their best with their champion. Riot should loosen up their "anti-fun" criteria, because there will always be fun and unfun things in the game. Riot may say certain mechanics are anti-fun, but stuff like getting CC-locked and/or multi-ganked is no fun either. These unfun things will always be part of a won or lost game, and it's rather unnecessary to rule out certain designs just because the enemy team wouldn't like them.

Two things missing from this article: shouldn't Quinn be listed, being a ranged ADC? And why no mention of the Black Cleaver, which can be a great item for carries such as Draven or Miss Fortune?

Also, I am curious as to why Boots + 3 isn't listed as a choice for mid. The thing movement speed helps you with that no other stat does is dodging skill shots

Typo: "With Elixir of Fortitude costing 350 instead of 50, that would leave you only able to buy two potions"

    Three potions, not too

  • posted a message on Is Dr. Mundo useful anymore?

    Quote from Deliqe»

Late game Mundo is probably shittier than most bruisers because melee champions that are not bursty and mobile can be useful exclusively by CC and Mundo has only slow that can be easily blocked, while people like Jarvan or Xin have multiple brutal hard CC. His W deals no damage late game and the free 100% AD? Dont make me laugh, Mundo doesnt build crit, aspd or armor pen, nor he has AD scalings so that "awesome" 100 AD is little more than 100 AP would be on AD carries.

95 magic damage per second is no damage late game? Granted, Mundo doesn't build a lot of magic pen or AP, so it's not as high as other sources of AoE magic damage, but the base damage is still fairly high. For comparison, at max rank Renekton's ult does 100 magic damage per second, and Shyvana's W does 85 per second. The base damage on Morde's W is 80 per second, and on Swain's ult is 90 per second.

Obviously those last two examples would be dealing more damage since they build AP and magic pen. However, it's clear that Mundo's W has relatively high base damage, and is capable of more potential damage over time since it's a toggle, not a cooldown-dependent spell (or a spell with duration-restricting cost, in Swain's case)

So, going off the short list in the article, the reasons for each champion's "toxic" status:
Teemo: hit-and-run playstyle, very frustrating ultimate that grants global presence and, if done right, is impossible to counter
Vladimir: his survivability and damage improve each other (Q, health costs, his passive)
Irelia: lots of free damage and sustain? I'm not really sure why she's toxic.
Heimerdinger: strong pushing power that destroys minion waves and towers, and doesn't even require him to be there, but forces you to stay in lane to protect your tower
Twisted Fate: global sight/ganks (pre-nerf Gate was global, not sure if current limited-range Gate is still considered toxic by Morello)
Master Yi: personally I don't see a reason for this. Is he toxic because of his AD and AS steroids?
    Tryndamere: death immunity
Pre-rework Evelynn: easily assassinates a player that makes the smallest mistake. Long stealth duration essentially grants global presence (she could be anywhere!)

    ^Not AP Tryndamere

And while I agree that win rate doesn't mean everything, going from 43% in late S2 to a current rate of 50% is definitely an improvement. The 50% win rate in Ranked has nothing to do with AP Tryndamere, since that's his win rate as of today, and AP Tryndamere was nerfed two months ago.

Tryndamere works. His win rate has gone up from last year and now hovers comfortably around 50%, and he's even picked a few times in LCS. The reason he works is not "on demand damage", it's because he has survivability which helps him in fights. Jax operates similarly; he's autoattack focused, but he works because his ult helps him survive to dish out more autoattacks.

Fiora and Yi don't have the survivability to be useful in fights. But at least Yi is a very strong split pusher. Fiora... she's just bad.
