Interesting evaluation, but what if you looked at the AoE portion of Hydra? For example, lets consider a auto attack based champ with low scaling on spells. The AoE from Hydra would particularly be more beneficial than BT on someone like Nocturne, unless you really want to take out one champion at a time.

Also, the active portion of Hydra would be pretty good on Zed, probably more so than BoTRK. The active along with his ult only means more damage to execute and it's possible to see that Hydra would increase his combo damage more than what BoTRK and BT would provide.

I really do have to agree with much you have to say in this article Hashinshin. Just from my perspective, the jungle has become extremely stale with very little thought of outplaying. When I learned the jungle, many things had to be taken into consideration, but now, everythings a simple point and click.

I never really liked playing those junglers you mentioned, mainly because they are all very simple-minded and take almost no knowledge to play. If only riot could do something  to bring the other "high skilled" junglers back into play. That actually might make games more interesting.

However, the problem I see with changing that is because many people don't like to play out of their comfort zone. there is a reason why we don't see some crazy junglers in LCS lately (for example Zed, Lee Sin, Diana), and its because way too many factors need to be considered and so you risk being a low factor to your team's success. As for Xin, J4, Voli, and Nasus, they are respectably strong no matter what happens in the game, and because so that's the only reason why we see them picked.

Other than that, i really appreciate the post. And even though many people may think differently, to me I definitely believe you touched on a subject that needs some attention.

my best guess is that they changed the components from 1 pickaxe to 2 longswords. just the gold there is a 75 gold difference.

Currently, you're seeing Trundle maxing his pillar 2nd largely because of the CDR. at maxed ranked and some CDR you can potentially always have a pillar on the map. The pillar isn't primarily used for its slow, but for its utility in being a movement obstacle.

His W is clearly a nerf. Increased health effects is nowhere a good trade-off for losing the CC reduction. Trundle already doesn't have that many big healing moves (compared to something like Rengar's heal, which makes amazing use out of Visage), his passive being quite minimal, and so the only real benefit you get from these changes are from health regen items (which are terrible in teamfights) or lifesteal. The only real benefit I could see from increased healing is if your team has some1 who could heal Trundle during his W duration, otherwise, it's minuscule.

His ult's tooltip is a bit deceptive. Currently his has a base damage, and the intended changes is % damage. However, if you look at it number wise. The actual damage isn't that much changed, just a bit more "rearranged". At the same time he's stealing less defenses later in the game when those items are being more prioritized. Early game sure it's a buff, but at those levels AR/MR values aren't even that high yet so you're only getting like 3/3 more AR/MR.

only logical answer would be if he got an early kill, and theres pretty much no other way than that.

pretty sad to see that the change on Udyr's Q was reverted, but then again at least it's still pretty good that jungle phoenix Udyr is seeing some love.

Its not the ADC thats making a lane more dominant, its the combination of ADC and support.

If you look at it, in the scenario where and ADC goes 1v1 against a top laner, more often than not the top laner will win the lane due to the natural characteristics of gap closing and tankiness. However, it is because of the added presence of the support that allows the ADC to put more pressure on the lane, hence why you claim it's dominant.

There's a reason why supports still go around with their ADC...

madred's proc and smite never worked for Udyr's turtle stance. His turtle stance is deceiving in that the healing is only based of your autos, much like lifesteal, with the added benefit of healing mana as well.

Also the AR/MR buffs didnt help him out as much as it might look on paper. You're looking at around an extra 12 AR/MR during the more impacting times in the game. It was a good attempt on Riot's part on making him a bit better, but it's definitely not as defining as one would think.
