Out of experience in the bronze league (stop laughing >.<)
J4: Great initiation, tankiness and utility in general. Knowing where, when and how to use the E>Q combo is key (not many expect one from the wraith camp onto mid. Surpriseee!)
Hecarim: Similar to J4, just more tankiness and less utility. Ganks are slightly weaker due to a lack of "wall jumping"(Whatever term that is) other than his ult. Unlike J4, he's very snowbally and can function as a carry lategame.
Sejuani: Very, very strong at the moment. More ban-worthy than Amumu. Does requre more skill to use having her main initiation tools as skillshots (Q and R).
Most commonly I would recommend playing cc tanks that, if ahead can grab some damage item to further demoralise the enemy or when behind, go tanky and still provide utility.
Oh Shaco: I would recommend him, but I've made a Shaco guess one too many times where I am when I divert my start path. It's all about the mind games against Shaco, starting from his summoner choices. Having ignite generally means a blue start for him, and often I'd recommend a red start while warning the laners closest to that part of the jungle beforehand to stay alert. While exhaust and flash are other options, Shaco is all about the early game. If you thwart him enough to the point he only got off 2 successful ganks (regardless of whether you gank or not and assuming equal laning ability from both sides), stick around until lategame and he quite likely can't do anything. Shaco is more dependant on lane-camping than most. Take away the chain effect of enemy demoralisation he provides by outsmarting him and you should be dandy.

posted a message on Your thoughts of Lissandra Sejuani and Trundle ?Posted in: Champions and Gameplay
Alright I just managed to do some testing on both Lissandra and Sejuani and they pretty much confirm what I thought their strength was going to be (I don't play PBE sooooo)
Lissandra: Very strong. Not OP or broken, but pretty close. Definitely a top 10 mid, top 5 being a bit of a stretch. I think her wave clears are strong with E>W>Q assuming the enemy doesn't retaliate. Very gank resistant with her E providing her an escape path and W for root. Towerdiving her is almost never a good option with her ult and W. Her roaming is top 5 material, maybe even top 3 with her passive giving her a free E to start from midlane and being up again by the time she reaches another lane. One of her main issues though is her damage output which in my opinion is a bit on the low side, however it's pretty reasonable considering the amount of cc she brings. I haven't thought out her counters or whom she counters yet, but I'm thinking Anivia is one of the former having superior waveclear post-6 (assuming mana management is good)Sejuani: Amumu is now sitting in a corner crying even more. Most of us used to refer Sej as a weaker Amumu. With her changes I think she is now a top 3 or top 5 jungle tank. Before she was underrated as a result of her atrocious first clears overshadowing her kit. With her new passive her clearings gotten a lot better sustain wise as well as improved dueling (Still not so good imo. I did play her against a Trundle jungle where I ignore his bashing while I took his blue, but I'm in bronze so yeahh...). Her ganking is still very strong, although her ultimate was certainly buffed and provides more sticking power than before. I consider her now more ban-worthy than almost any tank jungler save for J4.

What happens if you're able to change playstyle based on champions? For instance with Leona or Thresh I'm looking to zone the enemy out of exp zone, while Nasus I'd sit and q all day until I'm satisfied......Or play mumu/sej where I dont gank often until 6 or Vi where I'd try to gank often?
Edit: So mainly I'm a shotcaller/tactician type......with the occasional farm/steamroller/defender thrown in....

posted a message on Tear-RoA or Athene-Rabadon's?Posted in: Champions and Gameplay
I'd say it's situational. For Orianna, depending on the situation (What I started, how well am I csing compared to enemy, am I ahead in kills, etc, etc), I try to at least grab a chalice on my first b. If I get a good start, I'd take a catalyst. I don't find tear to be a bad choice, but I'm a person who prefers to have a defensive build consisting of health and resistances. RoA is a really cost-efficient item as it provides 650 health and mana as well as 80 ap when fully stacked (After having it for 10 minutes since completed item), and being the n00blord I am rush it on most of the mids I play, plus it synergises well with Archangels. I haven't used Athene on many aps for quite sometime but on Orianna I believe it's great due to her being mana hungry. Your Athene-Rabadon is a good option, just gotta take into consideration you might get blown up a bit too easily or that other lanes aren't doing as well as yours.
TL;DR-Build according to what the situation needs. -

Lulu. Got a bit mad with the enemy botlane (Leblanc Katarina....not something you'd see :s) not having a true support, so I decided to bust out my AD lulu build (she's the only champ in which I've played every lane with so far, even jungle)

Best mids in mid silver elo acording to me:
Khazix : play safe untill you get tear+bruta then STOMP TIME, just dont die before this and its rock n roll
Kassadin: Play safe to lvl6 ward and get the cs you can, then lvl6 Rock n Roll
Akali: If ppl dont oracle or pink ward early witch most at this low elo dosnt its GG
Diana: Safe pick, semi tanky and good damage
Kayle: If you can play her she is very safe pick atm, does have a slow start tho imo but gets sick midgame
Lux: Due to her range dosnt realy have a hard counter, if you can hit skillshots well she is very strong, dont forget to steal buffs/dragons/baron with ult
Fiddlesticks: If you get good at him you counter almost everyone
Kennen: Pretty safe vs most, has abit low damage but very high utility if that is your play style
Zyra: A good Zyra owns almost anything, id compare her to lux but Zyra is more unsafe but gives more reward
TF: Best AP mid if you learn how to play him imo
Zed: Hard to learn but once mastered is very good firstpick material
Ryze: Counter some hard, gets countered by some hard, if you like a lategame dominator (pretty weak before that tho)
Chogath: Afraid of that enemy mid? get chogath and shut him down
I definitely agree with most of the picks listed above. That being said, it all comes down to playstyle and one should be able to know which champions they can comfortably play with.
"Passive until 6" play-Kassadin, Akali. The key to beating the enemy laner is to not die and at least try to keep up in terms of cs. Once lvl 6 comes around dial up the aggression. You could poke them early game, but they're simply better than you at it.
"I'd rather kill you than farm" (High aggression): Kha, Zed, Pantheon. Mainly the AD mids fall under these category. They could just go with farming, but the better course of action is to jump straight into your face and make you submit.
"Leave me alone" (Highly passive, generally until at least lvl 9): Ryze. He would rather not engage you head-on and strictly exist for the lategame. Doesn't mean he wouldn't give you a Q every now and then though.
"I can kill you, but sometimes I've got better things to do"(Everything inbetween what was stated above): Ahri, Lux, Zyra, TF, Cho, Kennen, Kayle, Syndra, Diana. Most of these mids have a common trait: They can poke and kill you slowly pre-6, and they can continue doing so post-6 with an added killing blow in their ulti.
Out of all, were I to pick 5 champions for mid, I'd go as follows (in no order).
-Akali. At least try to have a champion that's different from your mentality. Even though your style won't mesh well with what's needed, it's handy to have her around in case you're encountering someone who has a similar playstyle to yours.
-Twisted Fate. Built-in mana regen, a stun, a slow, a global ult along with AoE. Possesses some of the highest skill caps though due to the amount of micromanagement needed. Very rewarding if done right.
-Lux. Very potent zoning, a snare, a controllable slow......and a spammable laser ult. Dema-bleepin-cia indeed. Like TF has a very high skillcap. Unlike TF she's entirely skillshots, so it's quite possible if you're a Lux fan, you're not a TF fan and vice versa (I'm a Lux person, and I find TF a headache to play with/against)
-Ahri. True damage return on Q, one of the more game changing single target spells in her charm (I'd rank it third behind the hooks of Thresh and Blitz unless I'm missing some others.....), has very satisfyingly flashy and effective combos to kill enemies (None of those "I sit still and pull my combo". She literally dances around the battlefield. <3), and is a sexy fox. What more can you ask for? Oh, and best moan in the League when dead (But don't feed with her plz. She's my favourite mid >.<)
-Cho' Gath (Especially the AP one). "You do not want to stand with your minions when I Q. You don't? Cool, I get some regen. Same goes for my silence. You do? Eat my combo and watch at least half your health gone. And pray I don't have 6 stacks or my ult is down. If both aren't the case and you got caught out, see you back in lane in a minute with a +1 on your death colum and a +1 on my kills. Didja just harassed me? Nope, all I saw is my health staying the same while your minions disappeared. Now, call your jungler to camp, OR ELSE." That's Cho in a nutshell. He may not have much roaming capabilities, but he can be a tank and an ap carry at the same time, requiring at the very least a double team to take him down late-game in order to get out of a fight with a draw (Generally I've seen triple-teams for the most part being done, and still there's quite the chance of a fight coming out as a draw)

I think she has a higher skillcap with her mana-management, just like syndra has. If you are not confident with her you will be oom 24/7 but if you manage to keep an eye on her passive she is a powerhouse.
Interestingly enough, I'd actually like to see a Lissandra-Syndra matchup just to see which evil being is superior.

"..........is double penetration better than standard penetration?"
Well duh XD. That aside, I budget a lot when it comes to runes (in other words, am lazy to make a page for every role, just AD, AP and support), and I've considered hybrid pen for a while. Guess after reading I'll make it a yes.
Thanks for the valuable insight ^^ - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.
