posted a message on Champions with no hard counterPosted in: Champions and Gameplay
On that vlad 'counter'. Just stop pushing when you shouldnt push. Your E pushes and gets your HP down, but then again why would you use it in that situation? It's meant for agressive play, not for a hard lane. You can go and go a very defensive offspec on vlad by taking 9/21/0 masteries, exhaust and defensive items which is actually has always been a strong build versus lane bullies like riven.
Zed shouldnt beat kayle. Her kit is strong against any melees since she can always stay in range and has 3 (!!!!!) anti-all-in skills, and melees go all-in. She has a WAY stronger early game. Actually kayle's early game harass is among the best ingame and it's nigh impossible to trade with her since she slows (and can even do an alternative spec to level her heal for MS bonus)
Ofcourse you can still win the lane or game but in a 1on1 Zed shouldn't beat kayle. Luckily this game is not 1on1 and lasts 20 minutes at the least. -

As many said in this topic there are no hardcounters. Yeah you get shutdown hard in toplane if you pick Voli vs Teemo but then you're playing a useless toplaner anyways.
If you pick a useful champ you can't get countered. I lost many lanes with Singed against 'counters' in terms of early kills/cs but still was at least twice as useful in the game by just splitpushing, and abusing his disruptive playstyle.
There are some who just don't care who's against them as they can always fall back on farming or do their tricks nontheless: Kennen, Zilean, Lux, Ori come to mind.

posted a message on Atma's impaler : Top or flop?Posted in: Strategy
Triforce is a bit out of meta. it's still a good item in theory but it comes with too much wasted stats for 9out10champs, and at such a high cost you can't have this. Triforce gives almost no tankyness and the damage increase is meh for many champs because of the wasted stats.
The metagolem was quite something indeed but many items (or those that where included in the buildup) got nerfed, made more expensive or don't fit the meta as good. Wits end, phage, atma's impaler.
BotrK, Cleaver, Spirit of elder lizard, LW and even BT are way more focused at what they do and more cost efficient for a damage item. Also there's sunfire cape which I keep advocating in this topic. It's a damn good item that gives you a lot of damage and tankstats at a very easy and flexible buildup.
Stop talking about 5-6 item builds, that's just not realistic especially on junglers like voli (toplane voli is total crap and you should be ashamed if you play it)
The takeaway? Stop doing bullshit and building random stuff because it's cool and scales on eachother. Fill your role as a melee, become a tank(mostly the jungler), carry(almost never) or bruiser (in between), build 1 or 2 items that work with your character and role depending on your goldflow (winning/losing?) then use the other item spots to counter the items of the enemies team. It's simpel, HP gets better if they stack Pen with Cleavers and Lwhispers. Armor and AS reduction gets better vs Botrk and Infinity edge autoattackers. Other way around you get pen when they build randuins and you get botrk when they all get sunfires, mallets and warmogs.
Ofcourse you take into account how good randuins and botrk passives+actives are but that's LoL 101.
For example you play renekton you get sunfire and boots, you see their top and adc rushing botrk. Stop building it yourself and get Randuins. GJ you just became useful.

Zephyr is cool but its a mediocre damage item and gives you no tankstats. You need to be a beefcake as melee, darius especially sonce his base dps is so high. Just get Sunfire, mallet, rands etc or botrk if you really need dps.

Sunfire is a way better choice in 95% of the situations.

Actually quite the opposite. Meta in healthy competetive games (which lol is ATM) are basically rock paper scissors made super complex.
Rock can become the stronger allround choice but paper will always beat rock. This means that if rock gains in popularity people will start to adapt as paper and getting stronger at those champions learning better synergies (kinda important that people now when to interact with you when they're on your team, especially as a jungler) and get higher skillcaps on paper thus paper might turn out allround stronger. Some tiny buffs/nerfs here and there help as well.
Nautilus is fine, he can gank pretty hard and ends up transitioning quite well throughout the game. He is a CC-tank meaning he has subpar damage if you compare him to J4 or Vi but you don't pick him for damage anyways ;-).
Ps: when you're in bronze silver gold and maybe even in plat, the basics > strategy. Timing, farming, coordination, etc etc. You can play teemo and morde, if you just perform better than the others in the basics you'll end up winning more than 50% of your games. -

posted a message on Your thoughts of Lissandra Sejuani and Trundle ?Posted in: Champions and Gameplay
Sejuani wasn't exactly buffed or nerfed overall. She was just changed into viability. She was a strong jungler before the remake but had such a weak early game that you couldn't justify playing her over champions who where strong through the whole game (all popular picks). Her lategame was disproportionally strong and she still is very strong in the lategame.
Biggest changes:- She doesn't Herpderp permaslow like before but you can still choose to effectively permaslow with the right build.
- early game got buffed but a bit slower midgame clearing - you have to itemize for this
- her sustained damage was decreased a bit while her burst and initiating power was increased.
This basicaly means you have more options nowadays and she actually was remade into something that fits in the current meta. She's definetly strong ATM.

posted a message on Trundle, is he worth it?Posted in: Champions and Gameplay
Trundle is actually a very solid and underrated pick and the remake won't change this. His ultimate turns tanks into squishy stuff and steals the stats for himself during a short duration he basically counters 1tank+4sqhuishy teams.
His biggest weakness is (and will be after the remake) bad scaling on items and clunk usage (this might change but I don't know this yet). By clunky I mean that his Q screws up his autoattack timer after a certain threshold of attackspeedy (which he can get without items due to his trollfield of justice) and the animation is terribad so it actually decreases his DPS, his trollfield of justice makes him visible behind walls when (counter)jungling (like noc but even worse) and his totem of pathing-destruction can backfire if you misplace it or if someone has flash. His ganks are also very iffy because he has to hit his totem properly and even then flash can make it backfire, his Q only works vs AD reliant champions and his ultimate is only really worth it versus tanky characters. This means he is very very strong vs tanks/tankheavy bruisers and champions who lack gapclosers or have them on very high cooldown (udyr, garen, heca) But if you have like 2-3 of those champs in a team this doesn't work. As Trundle you definitely TROLL Garen ish champions but only one of them at the time. That sounds good indeed, so why isn't he played? It's because he's a better chaser than kiter but he needs items to do so (rands/phage/botrk) and he can get kited pretty easily but not by the champs who he's pretty good against - you still get me? ;-) think of udyr, udyr is an escape artist - but he gets permakited/trolled by ashe, janna, nunu - the REAL kiters. The same goes for Trundle, he can escape and chase pretty well but an even better slow-machine will stick on him nontheless rendering one of his powers useless.
He is also a strong jungle duelist (even lee can't kill him) a true sustain god (and he will be even more than he already is after his remake) and one of the REAL immovable objects in the league - out of my head there's Warwick, Udyr, Yorick, Nunu and Trundle. But you don't need to be a sustain god in the current meta to have succes since none of those are real top (and I don't mean cool but _TOP_) tier picks in the current meta. -

posted a message on What does Rengar need?Posted in: General Discussions
His kit is not that bad (it still does so much) the nerfs just made it very very hard to work with in most situations and you basically need to be very good with him now. This is total change considering back then he was a total faceroll and you could max any skill build any OK item while still winning every matchup. Then they nerfed his damaging while leaving a weird HP bruiser build intact, something he was not at all intended for hence the next line of nerfs.
This made the rest of his skills even worse while his damaging part was already nerfed before that and they didn't revert any bit of the changes. Now you have to be good with him, play him in the right place and time while building the right items. This was totally the opposite before the nerfs.
His kit just does too much for one champion and if the meta desires champions like these he will be OP like hell. (like s2 Lee Sin, meta was made for him + super powerful W+passive) He's a mediocre jungler at best because he cannot become a good early clearer with this kit because a buff in this direction it would push him into a very OP state for laning. His W can be remade for this though - temporary reducing minion/monster damage, hp regen instead of a heal or whatever.
