You obviously aren't a good reader. He never said authority is a valid argument. He said there are times when an argument based in experience is disguised as authority because the receiver of the argument lacks knowledge.

I think you're right on most accounts. I just want to point out that your definitions are really mincing words in some spots. A bronze 5 blitzcrank CANT do the exact same thing as the pro blitzcrank. He doesn't have the timing, reactions, or knowledge to do it. That's the same as the amateur basketball player not being able to pull off what pros do.

That's not what I said. I was speaking about poor players. It doesn't matter if a poor player has extensive game knowledge if he can't execute with it. It doesn't get him anywhere to know about matchups if he still loses matchups he's supposed to win.

Pro players or players trying to be pro have as good or better understanding than ALL poor players, and can also execute and actually play the game.

I think point that a lot of people miss is that while it's true that there is a possibility of a bad player who understands the game well, in practice this sort of person doesn't really exist. There are many understandings of the game that come through sheer experience playing and executing.

Players who understand the game are able to spot opportunities and act on them. Seeing opportunities that other people don't spot further the metagame. This sort of play is impossible for someone who hasn't been able to participate in high level play.

So while it's true that a bad player may understand that "x" build is efficient or that it may not be the right time to do baron, they really don't have an understanding of the game, and as such shouldn't be making statements assuming they understand or trying to tell others that they know better

I don't think it was unclear that he wasn't saying Authority > Validity. It's possible that your poor understanding of english led you to that conclusion. It's also possible, and I believe many in these comments are falling prey to this, that you felt attacked by the possibility that you are that person who has wrong opinions, immediately causing you to fight against his argument. Basically setting yourself up for a straw man because of your emotions

At the end of the day, they can beat you 10 out of 10 times. That's why they are pro.

No one cares if you "know" more about a specific matchup or champion build if you can't do anything with it. That's the problem with most players who watch pro play and complain.
