riot stated that they preferred if you used pick order, they never said that pick order was compulsory

They stated that they preferred you to communicate and talk things out, but to revert to pick order if nobody can come to an agreement. "Pick Order is meant to be a last resort when settling discussions - this is why we are endorsing it and not mandating it."

How can someone deal with this? Is there anything more I can do other than sent a ticket and have the typical copy-pasted reply?

    1) It takes many reports and reoccurring toxic behavior to even reach the tribunal let alone get banned. The chances that every single one of your reports were by trolls or irrationals is highly unlikely. The sample cases shown on your report card may have randomly been the few games where you had trolls/irrationals which, while improbable, is possible. So, you shouldn't really worried about premades grouping up and reporting you because, if you've done nothing wrong and you keep up positive or neutral behavior, you will be pardoned. Just play your game, don't talk if you're going to be negative about them, and try to exhibit a positive attitude when you do talk. There will be nothing to be banned for in the chat log and you probably will get pardoned (although getting to the tribunal /is/ difficult so there are a lot of other cases that you could've been less than stellar in).

    2) If they actively harassed you during champion select and threatened to report you, just report them after the game for verbal abuse and mention the harassment. While it may not show up in the chat log, if this is repeated behavior, the tribunal will notice that there are multiple cases where people claim they got harassed by these individuals in the champ select and they will be punished.

  • posted a message on An idea about AFKs in ranked

Well I don't think he's talking about the chances of getting a random afker in any game but rather what we can do to address the situation where you're in game and you get an afker/dc. I personally feel like 5 minutes is too much. If a person disconnects, they should, for the most part, be able to get back almost immediately (barring some extreme circumstances like a PC restart). Maybe 1-2 minutes would suffice. I would also suggest setting a cap on the overall pause time in order to prevent repeated pause abuses as well as disabling chat and information about the game so people can't use it to plan ahead.

I would disagree with the automatic tribunal. The punishment there is too harsh for what may be something uncontrollable (i.e. family emergency, bug preventing log in, computer crashes and won't reboot). If that was the individual's only instance of leaving a game, it should by no means result in an automatic tribunal trial. In addition, there's no way for the tribunal judges to know the team scores the instance of the disconnect. Maybe they were ahead 5-2 and then it went downhill after the d/c resulting in 5-15?

I'm personally in favor for offering pause timers in ranked (much like in tournament draft or in a tournament situation). There would be an overall total pause time limit and a "cool down" period between the previous pause and when the next pause is available for a team. That's just my personal view though.

  • posted a message on How/when is boots of mobility better than ninja tabis or merc treads?

It's basically down to how much are you ganking early? Mobi boots allow for (obviously) fast movement throughout the map which allows you to be anywhere at a moment's notice. If you're an early ganker with good cc such as nautilus, mao kai, etc. mobi boots are a great option if you decide to have an early presence.

My higher skilled friend who watches OGN tells me that Korean/Chinese supports have been taking mobi boots over other options lately as well.

Oh that reminds me, someone sent me this a while ago and I've been meaning to try it out but haven't gotten around to it. It seems to be very effective and may help your orbwalking/stutter stepping.

This recent RoG article gives good times to freeze or push lanes.

    http://www.team-dignitas.net/articles/blogs/League-of-Legends/1223/Advanced-guide-Freezing-your-lane/

A nice guide on how to freeze your lane, i know you probably already know how but it has some interesting tips.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xh0Oa-Llu58

A video on it for visual learners.

Basically, freeze your lane if you're afraid of ganks, if you want to zone your opponent out of experience, or if you've lost your first turret and want to free farm (in the last case, pay attention to the map. If your lane opponents are moving to push another lane, push out your lane and take the turret or push and help defend).

Push your lane when your opponents leave lane (to deny them minions), when your opponents have poor wave clear (i.e. le blanc, early game nidalee), when you're not afraid of getting ganked, when you want to harass more (if you have too many minions coming at you, harassing draws aggro and makes you take extra damage. It also blocks skill shots and then you miss cs when you harass), when you want to leave lane to gank or recall (farm jungle would go under here as well), or you want to apply pressure on the map by split pushing.

  • posted a message on PSA to People Playing AD Carry: Build Last Whisper!

Some adcs who are more ad caster-esque can choose to skip out on attack speed and rely more on their skills to carry them through the middle game. It's not uncommon for champions like Graves or Miss Fortune to follow the above build to maximize their burst damage from their skills.

Here's an article on orb walking/stutter stepping, I'd suggest looking through winrar's adc itemization analysis (basically, what items to build. Pretty straight forward but an interesting read nonetheless). Practicing last hitting in a custom game by yourself is pretty helpful as well

    http://www.solomid.net/guides.php?g=19081-chaox-generic-build-guide

Is a quick read. It's a bit outdated as it's from season 2 but some of the stuff is still applicable.

  • posted a message on Map and Lane Management: How To Roam, Split Push, and More

One possible reason are cannon minions. If your opponent's wave is pushing and it kills your cannon minion before you get there, it will naturally push back towards your side because of the imbalance (they will have a cannon minion in their upcoming wave while yours doesn't).

It's viable on Kayle since she likes to have ap/attack speed. I've seen on it on Teemo but it's very underwhelming since if you get into auto attack range with him, you're probably going to get killed. Another possibility would be on top Lulu. Earlier in the season I saw some players go Bork then regular AP (Liandry's, zhonyas, deathcap, etc. etc.) on top Kennen.
