We all know how the maths work. But leavers make games no fun anymore. I dislike stomping over a team with a leaver as much as i dislike getting stomped over when the leaver is on my side. Sure we climb. But it isnt fun right? Where is the reward in "my elo is rising due to a mathematical edge! Haha!"? Do you want to play a game for 30 minutes where the outcome is 90% sure? Call me an idealist, but wouldnt it be great if a game would combine progress and fun at the same time?
Elo climbing due to a maths advantage isnt fun. Not the wins nor the loses. The loses however are more mentally impactfull (riot researchd this stuff). They make you angry. And undermine your performance. Maths is fun, but lol isnt played exclusively by bots. Perhaps the human factor might be of influence? Because then the actual outcome might differ from the mathematical theory.
