  • posted a message on Let's talk about Elise, maximizing damage output for a nice solo queue winrate

I think everyone agrees to say that she's best as Tanky Mpen, relying on her base damage. Basically what you do is build magic penetration in lane for ridiculous lane dominance, and you transition to tank items such as Sunfire Warmogs, Frozen Heart, Randuins, whatever floats your boat.

If I see them stacking health I'll pick up a Rylai's and upgrade my haunting guise into a Liandry's. Hell, throw a Q on the tank as kite and W their entire team is tons of damage from Liandrys. But I never, ever get it in lane of before they stack health because everyone does anyway at the moment. Also, Rylai's is very good for the spider form, hitting Q and being able to get a lot of skittering frenzied hits is TREMENDOUS damage.

Anyway to answer the OP's question, there is hardly any matchup where you're gonna lose the lane as Elise, the thing is there are champions that if you go even with them, you're just losing because they'll outscale you tremendously in late game. So what you need to do is basically buy TONS of wards, and act as a huge lane bully to make sure you're actually getting a significant lead. Make sure you give them nothing, absolutely nothing, they shouldn't even be allowed to go in XP range for some champions, such as Jax etc.

Then when significant objectives are in view, you can leave the lane and roam, usually after you completed HG and Sorcs, you deal true damage to the AD carry, the support and the Mid, so feel free to roam a little bit because you're Elise and you chase like a boss and they won't understand what hit them if you can land one rotation on their face. Easy to rack up kills or assists there.

In teamfights, I find myself mostly going all-in on the AD carry or the AP carry and using my spider E as a "don't focus me card". If you've had the laning phase you're supposed to have you'll always be pretty strong when first teamfights kick off, make sure you let the enemy squishies know about it.

  • posted a message on Why did Kennen fall out of favor?

I think there are several reasons why Kennen isn't picked anymore and they quite speak for themselves.

First of all, if you look at the current way team fights are happening in tournaments, you will notice that those fights are extended skirmishes. There is usually an initial chaos of burst where everyone burns his ultimate and goes all in, and in general teams are now so coordinated that you won't be able to press everything and delete them from the map, it just won't work. The fights have a back and forth flow and that's why you don't want an all in champion like Kennen who's only real threat in a teamfight is to catch 5 enemies in his ultimate and deal a full burst. You can likely think that this will not happen, Exhaust, Tristana, Janna and Maokai are way too good at disengaging from a Kennen. Because honestly, once Kennen usd all his cooldowns, he becomes pretty useless for a while with the bad energy regen and he's just able to land 1 or 2 more Q's, which can be dodged fairly easily and will make him absolutely useless if dodged.

Secondly, WotA has been nerfed a LOT to the point it's not viable anymore and people now go for spell penetration over sustain. Kennen was really impressive in the double AP combination, especially when matched with Vladimir and with the double WotA aura. This is not the case anymore, and you have to realize this makes Kennen a lot weaker than in the past. Not to mention that Kennen is not exactly good at defending towers, unlike Anivia, Orianna, Karthus who just delete the waves.

Lastly, Kennen has low utility when it comes to buffing the team or whatever, and he doesn't compensate by extreme killing power like Katarina or Evelynn do.

  • posted a message on How does anyone beat Darius top?

Jayce or Xin Zhao beat Darius in lane quite easily, with Jayce being able to absolutely crush him without any retaliation from Darius since technically he should never be able to land more than a Q on you given you have strong Jayce mechanics. Also a Xin Zhao running the right runes will out trade Darius pretty hard early but the Darius can always build tanky as hell and be able to lane but that'll take time until he's able to out trade you.

    Give buffs to Nasus:

    • Remove Cast times on W and E. (Allow better chasing and escaping)
    • Slightly reduced Mana costs on Q.
    • Base Armor and Armor per level increase.
    • Increase Mana regen.
    • Scaling Bonus Movement Speed on Ultimate
    • Crowd-Control Reduction during Ultimate.

    Gangplank:

    • Passive now deals True damage instead of Magic damage.
    • Gain bonus Armor and Magic Resist for a few seconds after using Remove Scurvey.
    • Cannon Barrage is no longer Global. Reduces Armor and Magic Resistance (%) of champions hit by Cannon Barrage.

    Twitch:

    • Ambush Cooldown reduced to 11 seconds at all ranks.
    • No longer delays Ambush stealth when taking damage.
    • Venom Cask slow increased by 5% on all ranks.

    Hecarim:

    • Q applies on-hit effects at max stacks.

    Xerath:

    • Q and R cast times reduced by half.
    • Arcane Barrage now runs on an Ammo system. Xerath gains Arcane Barrage Ammo every 27 / 24 / 21 seconds and costs 55 / 60 / 65 to use a charge.

0.5 to stealth away in any situation is really too OP.

Xerath, sits in lane for 10 minutes = 20 charges on arcane barrage?

I'm not sure exactly what you are talking about since I only said the second part of the delay would be removed which would equal to a 1.25 second delay instead of 3 seconds.. As Sabuzyra said, instant escapes and blinks should be considered more OP since they don't have to "charge" their escape or gap closer like twitch does. Rengar's ultimate should be considered OP too since he doesn't have much of a delay on his stealth activate.

Xerath would run on a 3 ammo charge system like Akali. It's best to take this seriously since a Riot discussed this a while ago about it being too powerful. A player can just about get the ammo recharge to 15 seconds with blue buff and a cooldown-reduction item.

The ammo system only makes it more powerful so I don't know what you're actually talking about. You'll get your 3 charges in the same amount of time anyway, you get to use a single ammo if you only need one, and can keep two for another kill 15s later? And Xerath is actually very strong since the last buffs, his ult is very easy to land now. Maybe reduce Q cast time and he'd be smooth as hell.

Imo the major changes should be focused around making SR more balanced, right now playing purple side is just too much of a disadvantage. Honestly in top lane its ridiculous, if the enemy has a maokai jungle and you're purple side, what the hell can you do level 1? Trying to last hit means you're either gonna burn flash or die, and he's gonna come anyway because why wouldn't he. So either it's not Maokai and you can escape easier, either it's Maokai or Nautilus and you have to get denied by the thought of him being here after blue.

I always pick up Irelia vs Garen, even though she's supposed to be countered by him, just play passive from level 1-5, starts boots+4, every time he runs at you, or starts to spin, stun him and walk away, and if he still goes for the trade, your W gives you more damage in the standing fight + sustain.Farming at tower with Irelia is easy. After your first back, grab a doran shield, and you officially won the lane since now every single trade is yours by FAR.

If you still suffer from his damage, get a chain vest, and now you win the lane. It's just as stupid as that with this matchup, you're gonna win no matter what as long as you get through the first 3-5 levels.

  • posted a message on is AD nid overrated?

Nidalee is a skill-based champion. She'll just be as good as you can play her. That's why I think she's a fantastic champion (haha).

Nah only she's so versatile, she can be bursty, elusive, she can poke, she can peel, she can chase, she can push, can punish whatever. She's just the multiform champion that can pull off insane plays or just be a pain during all the game.

I personally enjoyed AD Nidalee a lot, quite a long time I haven't done it but what used to be useful is just making top lane YOUR TERRITORY. Just like being that cougar that sits toplane, pushes enemy inhib under 25 minutes and that never gets punished just because you have 435ms, a huge bush ms boost and pounce. So you can literally force the enemy team to focus on the toplane or to lose it horribly because you're a strong duelist and 1 guy is hardly enough to keep you out of there. Also she's not as useless as some would say in a teamfight, her AS boost can make your AD carry a real machine gun, and her burst is nothing to scoff at, and she can just sit in the face of the enemy AD due to her extreme mobility and zone him out.

I just love Phage. In some setups it's ridiculously strong, played Ezreal today with a Leona support, all I'd do was attacking graves until I got a phage proc, then Leona would simply walk to him and stun and lock and whatever and he'd die. Just love it.
