Support is probably the role that I am second most comfortable in, the first being mid. I find it quite enjoyable, as I get a break from lasthitting mechanics and get to focus on vision control and area control in and around my lane.
I like to play extremely aggresive supports, such as Taric, Alistar, Blitzcrank, Thresh, and my new favourite, Elise support. I find that it is quite rewarding to net a few kills for the team, on both the adc and yourself, and can quickly snowball your lane and win you the game. Supporting is an essential role, and the player must be able to put his team before his own interests, and know when and how to make big plays for his team, whether it be through warding, getting a pick on an enemy, or through something as unnoticable as zoning the enemy off your carry.
Oh, and remember that you won't get credited with anything. Your team and adc will probably take all the credit and say that they did all the work, but you know that isn't true. ;)
