so... he got taunted into it ? Guess his cleanse was on cooldown then.
I wonder how the frensh would cheer for there hero today if he would not have thrown the finals of the World Cup for his team...

I somehow sense that your perception of adequate behaviour in LoL is not in line with public opinion of crime and punishment. Since there is a voiced opinion by the people (through hundreds of reports by victims of verbal abuse) and several jury trials happened.
Also you did not read the article, where it is stated that riot staff gave the final judgement.
Also soccer players are notorious for faking injuries.

U dont know anything about the world kid.
Also absolutely true.Even after gaming for over 25 years, being a pro gamer myself for some time, then studying and practicing law for the last ten years, I still don't know shit about justice, gaming culture and the world in general.
I still learn new stuff every day. It is a wonderful world we live in.
Let's keep it that way and not headbutt each other, shall we?
absolutely correct, it is not comparable. That would be a scary day when somebody enters my house and tries to beat me up after a game of LoL.
But what this incident and IWD's banishment have in common is that both are discussed as examples of the epitome of unsportsmanlike behaviour in their respective sports.
My point referring to the OP is, that their is a clear line with the headbutt that this cannot be tolerated in this respective sport. The same holds true for the neverending bad behaviour of certain League players. To get banned, you have to get thousands of people pissed off and mad about you. So mad actually that they write hundreds of complains about your bad behaviour, which then leads to over a half-dozen trials with respective judgement. Which where all ignored by this young fella.
Also I really liked that picture.

That is the captain of the frensh national soccer team. At the world Cup. He went to far.
IWD likely got hundreds of reports, maybe even a thousand. Which led to small punishments. Over and over. He did not stop. Went to far =/
I have to applaud Riot for finally taking decisive action in shaping the community of their esports workforce.
The response of the community to this is rather unimportant. I assume the majority will stand behind this decission.
What really matters is that the career and life of a young badmouthed man has been permanently shaped (to compete in Dota2 instead).
What Riot really achieved here is that every TEAM MANAGER of a professional esports team will have a nice meeting tomorrow with his friends/employees/teammates and will talk about their behaviour in public.
This nice little conversation/shitstorm will form the community.
Dignitas team manager will live through a personal nightmare now, loosing a key asset.
Pro Players see the carrot of being paid by Riot. They will jump through many hoops now, when their bad mouth puts their job on the line.
I expect a LOT of friendly behaviour in streams in the future.
Only the "free" streamers can behave bad now, because their income - if any at all - is rather independent from Riots "Curse of Exile".
But if they do, they have to take into consideration that their bad behaviour is a RISK for their chances to be hired into a pro team. Those team managers will choose wisely...
