  • posted a message on Champion Notes: Leona, The Radiant Dawn

Just wondering, if you are aiming for quick game that ends before late game kicks in, would Quinn + Leona combo be a good match?

Leona can keep a champion in his/her for a quite long time, and Quinn beats most adcs when it comes to base AD and attack speed. I also believe that if the two can burst with coordination, at least 3 of Leona's passive marks would proc, along with 2 Harrier procs (which should be a near death sentence to a target). In addition, I think both champions are quite good when it comes into those "high-risk, high-reward" situations and they both can dive in quite nicely.

And no, I did not forget Quinn's aoe blind.

  • posted a message on Evelynn any good?

Eve isn't bad, and she is definitely viable in soloq (unless if u were like diamond & higher).

Evelynn never was like other assassins who would jump in and instantly murder a target (well, except when she had the stun on her E). If she did, then she would be totally broken.

Eve's dps is quite bad if talking about flat stats. Slap in lichbane (or triforce) and the story changes. She pretty much has the proc on constantly (the sheen proc does say it has a 2 second cool-down, but in use it seems to be slightly shorter for me), which gives a huge bump to her dps in actual game play  Slap on DFG on top of that if you want faster kill speed. This is what I don't like about calculations that only show dps based on AP (Fizz and TF's DPS also suffers when calculating with only AP)

Her ult nerf is quite harsh, I agree, but no one in the forum mentioned the amount of shield Evelynn gets from the ult. It may seem somewhat irrelevant, but 1.5k shield along with a 70% slow has one heck of a potential. The ultimate seems unusual for an assassin as this skill gives Evelynn the ability to initiate or just be unkillable for a while. As of currently, Eve's ultimate seems to be geared more towards team-fights rather than picking someone off (her stealth is good enough for that)

Evelynn doesn't even have to build AP. Hybrid and AD can also do wonders if you know what you are doing (like those wacky Fizz builds), as the ratios for her Q and E don't really favor either side. What you have to remember is that Evelynn is no standard assassin, you have to play her differently.

    _____

Also, even if you are countered in lane, Evelynn still can help out the team by being a roamer. Sure, its risky, but with a jungler who ganks alot, you can constantly put pressure in lanes (2 man gank, gank two different lanes at the same time, or counter jungle as if there was no tomorrow).

To me, once out of the laning phase melee carries depend on their own team's meta.

Sure, melee carries put themselves in higher risk of getting CC'ed than ranged carries, but a team that revolves around them can negate it to a point. Melee carries need their team mates to help out to actually wreck the other team. Morgana's black shield is lovely on melee carries. The rest of the team can be a CC machine that will root the enemies so that Yi can wack them to death. A Tryndamere can go for a suicide spin with Zilean placing double bombs and an ult. Fiora's team can force a fight in the jungle and she jumps later on to finish it. If synchronized, a melee carry and a well done J4 ult can be as deadly as if the carry was MF or Twitch. (also, melee carries can wreck melee assassins pretty hard if they ever jump in)

However, unless if the team had already planned it out, melee carries will almost never be in a team that will actually support them (if they communicate in the first place).

To me, melee carries have the potential, but our current play style and meta kicks them out of the list of "viable" champions.

P.S. Do not wage a base race against a melee carry, because you will most likely lose.

    Now, Teemo vs Morde.

Top lane, Teemo gets the upper hand. Why? Because Morde loses in the Poke War. Morde can't shield Teemo's pokes without pushing the lane, or he just gets withered down by the poison. Now add in ganks. Morde at best can get pre-6 ganks. Once the shrooms are up, it becomes a nightmare for the jungler. Morde has to risk getting low just to cs.

    Mid lane, dunno.

Morde was originally meant to be a top laner. Changes to meta and itemization just made in him shift towards mid. He still can lane top, just as some ADCs can go mid.

Morde vs Garen: I dunno if Morde's Q can hit invisible targets, so I am going to assume it doesn't. Do you people account bush? I'm saying this because most Garens I've fought uses the bush to the max. I'm not saying more about this because I play neither champ.

GP v Kassadin: I have not yet seen a Gangplank get bursted by Kassadin in PvP. Kassadin is going to need that Seeker's Arm-guard pretty bad. Remember to eat oranges if the cc removal is needed, not that you would really need it most cases.

GP v Morgana: Like above, near impossible to burst him down. GP Q is not affected by Black Shield.

Teemo v Morgnna: I saw this, but never played it. Seems to be favoring Teemo though. Binding would be a pain to land, and Black Shield is only useful if you are checking for shrooms.

Fizz v Morgana: I don't really know, though, Black Shield won't fully block his Q as its partially physical. Landing Dark Binding will still be a pain. In the lower ranks, some Morgana players panic when Fizz goes somewhat aggressive, and waste their Shield. Other than that, seems to be dependent.

AP Tristana v Karthus: Notice I put AP. I like AP Tris for her abnormal Ap ratios (W 80%, E 80% for passive, 100% for active, R 150% ratio) Her E deals a large amount of DoT and reduces heal, weaking potion effects, and Karthus' Q can be predicted. Tristana's burst is short but powerful (W on to him, AA and E during in midair, Ult and Ignite to finish him off). I'm not sure how the match-up goes. I need opinion on this.

    My opinion:

Fizz v Kassadin: I consider Fizz to be a weaker counter to Kassadin. Depends on what you do. As of me as Fizz, I farm till level 2 and pretty much go all in for the first blood. Even if Fizz dies, the first blood will be enough for him to snowball like crazy, as long as the other jungler doesn't babysit the lane. During level 2, most junglers are not ready for a gank, and Fizz can out duel Kass pretty bad. By the time I get boots, RoA, and sheen (in no particular order), most Kassadins fail to take me down with their combo. Some people may argue, but from my viewpoint, Kassadin can survive early game if he builds armor (Fizz's Q is physical damage, and his AAs hurt) or gets lots of early ganks (if Fizz didn't alreay get a kill). If Fizz fails to take that early game advantage, he will have a hard time.

Trundle v Yorick: I thought Trundle was best in the Jungle. I don't see him as laner. Teamfight wise, Yorick gets to clone the ADC for a teamfight, while Trundle gets to instagibb a tank (or even Yorick himself) during the teamfight, while becoming insanely hard to kill (steals armor, MR, and health) Trundle also fairs better against CC comps (its like Irelia). But the two champs are meant for different roles.

Yorick is a pretty solid top, though I wonder how Xin v Yorick would come out.

GP v Malzahar: As long as GP saves his W, he will be a pain in the butt for Malz. Malzahar can't burst him due to the W, and even if Malz wins in pushing and CSing early, GP outshadows him as the games goes on. In addition, GP's Q lategame is not funny. It takes like 70% of ADCs' and assasins' health. But then again, not a hard counter.

Teemo: It's all about when you use your blind dart, it either makes you win a fight, or lose one. And his shrooms will always be a pain. You just can't change that. (That said, wonder how Quinn would fare)

Teemo v Singed: Singed  never liked ranged top. Since he has no set gapclosers, Shrooms and rylai's screw him pretty bad. Plus, Liandry's puts the nail to the coffin. Matchup would be favored toward Teemo, but its the same for other ranged champs too.

    Thanks for the videos, Wiltsee.

I think I've read somewhere that Quinn's passive might telegraph her moves. However, her passive goes for the last target she hit, meaning it does not have to be an AA. I think one method is to "fake" the attack. Using Sona and Graves as an example, if Harrier marks Sona, you can theoretically play "aggressive"  against her but just before the Harrier passive marks her again, you can Q Graves so that the second Harrier will mark him. When that happens, Quinn and her support can do their burst on Graves.

This is only theory, and I can't test this out cuz I'm terrible at ADC....

    Quote from Emeraldw»

I am also ignoring Quinns passive as the only way to make sure it is on the right target is by using her E.

I think Harrier (passive) should be calculated. The passive prioritizes the last target hit. In a trade or a fight, Quinn's passive would always mark Graves as long as she doesn't start attacking someone else.

Even if Quinn didn't hit Graves before fight, her passive prioritizes champions over minions.
