Unoffical PBE Patch Notes for 1/10/2013

IMPORTANT

Keep in mind this is datamined from the TOOLTIPS, some changes may only be tooltip updates and also may not be live on PBE
IMPORTANT: This compares old PBE to new PBE, and not to live values.

Update2: It looks like a second patch hit, there are even more changes, It looks like every item has had some kind of tooltip update. only a few were changed, still need to add these! On champions [it looks like a lot of tooltips just were reworded, EX: "ignores unit collision" is now worded as "Can move through units".

This is why i left LoL for DotA.

    Arbitrary balance decisions & nofunallowed.

Omg that Crystalline Flask nerf is harsh... (especially for supports and utility junglers, farewell to Machete + Flask start with 2/2 Wealth).

Big nerfs even for Even and Tresh.

The mighty wrath or Morello smote us.

Mongol General: Conan! What is best in life?

Conan: To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and hear the lamentations of their women.

Mongol General: That is good! That is good.

wow, thresh is not even worth it anymore

  • #28 wulululu

    back to eve tier!

  • #35 September_7th

Yeah I feel the Eve changes were just over the top.
I completely agree that she needed a CD nerf on ult but to me that was basically all she needed, but there have been countless changes that have been reverted in this PBE patch so who knows if these will stand?

I just sincerely hope they don't nerf the range of her ult or it'll be kinda the same situation as they put Diana in when they nerfed the range on her ult, she just won't be able to use it as intended.
Her invisibility range is 700, her Live ultimate range is 800.
If she wants to hit her ultimate on more than two people (unless they are standing right on top of each other) she has to show herself as it is now.
But if this range nerf is implemented she'll have to show herself even if she is going to use it on just one person and god forbid she'll need to hit two or more people because then she'll have to walk right into their faces.

Eve won't be able to initiate fights anymore and I just don't see a reason for that nerf, I like that she's an assassin that can actually do something except hiding behind the tank all day.
(And yes I know that it is ideal for her to come in behind the enemy team and take out the squishy targets but such a huge range nerf will make that very hard to accomplish as well, nerf the CD, damage, whatever, just leave the range out of it, Diana became shit after her nerf and they had to revert it just as I believe they will with this one.)

    Look again...

  • #19 F0LW4R

Who cares, just start 9 pots and 2 wards.

  • #25 Waaargh

@F0L, every proper support cares. And team Curse.

See the flask is an investment, since chucking down three pots healed 300 HP, and returning to base would give you three more. Getting 9 pots is an economic way of sustaining health and mana, but every potion downed is 35 gold spend which you won't get back. Even a dorans item will return some gold when it is sold.

Now the flask has moved from a start item to an early game item (I will think about how to squeeze it in with my support build).

If you do your calculation you can easily see that the flask is not convenient, pre mod was 225 that's 6 potions which heals for 150 each, so 900 hp instead. How many times do you intend to use the flask? More than 3 trip back? I don't think so. If you buy 4 hp and 2 mana that's still more than the flask. Don't just buy things because you see pro players do it.

flask was extremely cost efficient and borderline broken, it used to sit in my inventory for a good 20minutes.
now you're forced to start charm+pots+wards like before.

  • #32 AzeExMachina

Why cost efficient? Better have 4 wards than that item. Or if you are top, better have 6 potions, so you could start with 11 potions and 1 ward. More than what you'll ever need.

Well, since you are too blind to notice, pre-nerf flask costs 225 gold, which meant you can already get 4 wards as a support.

You get to sell the item should you decide it's redundant for 90 gold, so essentially it only costs 135 gold.

As for the gold cost per back:

    300 health = 70 gold

    120 mana = 42 gold

For each back, you get 112 gold worth of potions. And you are always going to use it at 100% efficiency unless you are doing something wrong.

You buy flask at the start, then back once, then it automatically becomes more gold efficient than buying potions(224 gold worth of potions compared to 135 gold cost of item).

In short, stop embarrassing yourself by exhibiting to the world your inability to do simple elementary school math.

For those interested, new flask calculations are as follows:

    Costs 345 to buy

Assuming you can sell for 40% of its cost, effective cost of item becomes 345 - 138 = 207 gold

    Gold equivalent per back:

    360 health = 84 gold

    180 mana = 63 gold

Total = 147 gold per back

So essentially, both pre- and post-patch versions simply require 1 B to become cost efficient.

The key differences lies in the inability to do certain item starts or starting with lesser potions/wards in general.
